OK. now finally we have at least some links that tie own3Dtv and Dolby to Blight Gaming. However, I am not sure if those are enough. Since I don't like mass e-mailing any companies sponsor or not, and I will be out of town without internet for a few days, can someone actually ask, for the rest of us, these 2 companies if they are actually sponsors? http://blightgaming.com/2012/09/06/a-new-player-to-our-stellar-team/ clearly says these 2 companies are "Sponsors," not partner nor using their products. Considering the links blackfoger showed us, I am not so sure if these 2 companies actually know that they are listed as sponsors. 1 non-negative e-mail to each company just to confirm if they sponsor a team or not can't possibly hurt e-sports unlike hundreds of negative messages in the case of, say, orb or destiny. If nothing happens until I come back in a few days, I send them myself. Then, there is no need to talk about 99% discussion that I didn't intend to start. Why not make it 100% or 0% when all it takes is probably 2 e-mails? See you guys in a few days. Hope everything is sorted out by then.

I like how this only link to a dolby sponsorship is a tumblr blog, which is pretty much garbage, if dolby was supporting the team they would have had a real press release. Owned tv has you as a partner. along with hundreds upon hundreds of others, what is your point? they dont support your team directly, you just happen to make money off of streaming on their website. What a load of bullshit.

This is why esports needs a governing body. That would keep this shit from happening. Even a simple thing on teamliquid, where all teams register with one of the mods before players are allowed to be signed. An informal thing, a sort of gentleman's agreement between all pros that they go through the middleman to make sure that no one gets screwed.

I can't tell if he's just overambitious and doesn't have the knowledge of running a successful business and just digging a hole for himself or just a plain, dumb liar living the "I'm an owner of an esports team" dream because nothing he has posted has any real validity.
In both cases meaning he needs to grow up, cause no ones going to clean this up for him.
It's also hard to tell how much effort he really is putting in since the posts and interviews on his website are riddled with grammar mistakes and hard to read. If you can't take the time to do a spell check with announcements you post on your homepage, I really don't know what he's trying to prove he can accomplish. This isn't a matter of being good at English or not; in his most recent interview post: http://blightgaming.com/2012/09/07/interview-with-diglett/ he's just literally copy/pasting skype/chat logs and posting it on his site after adding a couple line breaks or something and considers that to be well-produced content. The fact he also quoted himself in the Crane announcement when he posted it himself is just plain silly.

Blackforger, I have a question for you.
How old are you? I see that you have claimed yourself to be a "retired 21 year old CEO" (Man, I wish I could have retired at 21) and also that you're in your 40's.

What country requires a greater than 99% level of confidence in guilt before sentencing? Circumstantial evidence is still evidence, and when the preponderance of evidence implies guilt you don't just sit around and wait for the 'absolute proof' that probably doesn't exist.
Sorry, thought the "thats not how real life works" comment was directed only at "innocent until proven guilty". My mistake

It's pretty sketchy that he just utterly ignores many of the jucier questions & issues brought up by people.

Here's my guess on what Blight's staff looks like:
CEO: James "Blackfogger" Larsen President: James "Blackfogger" Larsen General Manager: James "Blackfogger" Larsen PR Manager: James "Blackfogger" Larsen Website Manager: James "Blackfogger" Larsen Journalist: James "Blackfogger" Larsen Journalist: James "Blackfogger" Larsen "Translator": James "Blackfogger" Larsen Anti-Troll Squadron Manager: James "Blackfogger" Larsen Player Coach: James "Blackfogger" Larsen
x3 to make it 30 total since he says there are 30 people working for Blight. Yes, there must be 3 CEO's.
Sponsors: Richard Larsen Susan Larsen

Bullshit.
Neither of those mention anywhere that they sponsor you. For own3dtv, that is just your channel. Partnership does not equal sponsorship. Be honest, they haven't payed you any money to put their logo on your website have they? No of course not because you are lying again. How about you show some real proof?
Now look at the Dolby page. No where does it say that they sponsor you. You just told them about how much you like Dolby gear.
We’re glad Blight Gaming chose Dolby to keep in-game sounds in their headsets
You chose their products, they didn't choose you.
Do you manage or play for an eSports team that competes using Dolby technology? We’d love to hear from you! Find us on Facebook or Twitter, and let us know how Dolby elevates your game.
How the hell do you equate this with a sponsorship? Any manager or player could email them and be given the same blog post. This is getting even more ridiculous, stop lying. This doesn't prove anything, this is just more bullshit from you stepping around the truth.

I like how he's still updating his website with random stuff but not responding to any of his questions here.
Example: Copy/pasting parts of a USAToday article that he read and posting it on his homepage... http://blightgaming.com/2012/09/08/trustworthy-homeless-man/
Read the article off USAToday since his version was a blatant copy/paste with some paraphrasing. This article is also from November of 2010... Was a good article for sure. Not trying to offend USAToday, the article, or the writer of that article by any means. Just the fact he should be updating his site with material of more importance such as his legitmacy as a business owner and esports team operator...
To be honest, I don't think this guy blackfoger is that evil or has any major ill-intent, seeing as he's trying to defend himself, and attempting to make up for his past wrongdoings, but I just think he's just incompetent and doesn't have the proper skillset to operate a team/business. I don't think that's the most I can give him in terms of benefit of doubt.
Whether lacking the skills and hurting people as a result or trying to scam and hurting people as a result, people are suffering either way as a result of his actions. Just constantly gambling on the esports dream or something I guess...
To people who can relate to the AZK/Phillipines issue, the main "culprit" Gus was the same; he was just too ambitious and didn't have to the skills and management to back it all up.

http://www.twitch.tv/carbonthief
Hey check it out, I'm sponsored by twitch.
Now if only I can get an interview, I can claim whoever interviewed me sponsored me too.
This of course is enough to support a staff of 30 people.

i've been monitoring this thread pretty closely ever since it blew up two days ago. to be really honest I haven't followed the SC2 at all for about half a year now, but eSports-cancerous stunts like this are still enough to evoke some sort of reaction from me.
and while I think it's good to clarify to everyone the issues related to Blackfoger's notorious character and previous offenses, I think in these past couple of pages we've detracted from one of the more important points of this thread:
do we have any updates as to how Crane is handling this situation?

I played him in playhem yesterday and was asking him about the situation.
I asked: Do you know all the things about Blight Gaming?
He responded: Ty
So, this leads me to believe he has rather lower end english skills. If a translater wasn't used I don't have any clue how they even approached him. Moreover, the thank you response prompts me to believe he's still under the impression that Blight is actually going to be supporting him. :/ It's too bad really, but I hope nothing happens to him like getting to an airport and having no money for example.

pro links....... lmao the dobly one doesn't even say anything about sponsoring Blight gaming it basically says thanks for using our equipment and giving a small interview. Nothing about how they provided the equipment or are sponsoring this team called "Blight" which is made up of a bunch of schemes and lies. And sweet own3d link anyone can make a stream on there....? How does that even say anything about being sponsored. Oh I can do that too check this out, www.twitch.tv/limenade i must be sponsored by twitch.tv too (SARCASM) although its not a big deal or anything with the company......... O_O

So Blackfoger founded Blight in 2001 when he was only 10 years old or so? Impressive :D
|
I knew he'd messed around people in CS and TF2 (being a member of the TF2 community myself). But he has previously screwed over DotA teams as well? And now Starcraft? What the actual hell? Starting to wonder if you could actually be mentally ill. Honestly just fucking leave - I'm starting to feel depressed at the fact that you will only continue to fuck people over in the future.
EDIT: Just read the blight gaming site/facebook a bit. Ridden with poor grammar/spelling/punctuation - what a fucking joke. To reiterate : GTFO

Hi Charlie-
Thank you for the email. Dolby is partnered with Blight Gaming, as they support our Dolby Axon voice solution but we are not financially sponsoring them.
Best- The Dolby Game Team
Sigh.... I emailed Dolby, and this is the reply. If anyone would like a full screenshot of the email I can provide aswell, but that is the response. i repeat they do not FINANCIALLY SPONSOR BLIGHT GAMING, BLIGHT GAMING USES THEIR PRODUCTS. pathetic move blackfoger.
