That I actually like a lot. Their range shouldn't be too high though and they HAVE to overkill.
i dont think they overkill from what i can tell from playing around abit 2 widow mines will not go for the same target at the same time. also they do not attack hallucinations/timed life units. this includes mules, broodlings, infested terrans, etc.

range 5 still hits air it does 160 damage to it's target and then 35 splash damage in a 1.75 radius
Do widow mines get bonus damage from attack upgrades? Also, is their attack affected by armor? (if it is then a staker should survive the hit with 1 hp)
cool now make them fly a little bit less fast, make them killable during flight, let them only hit ground units and put them on the hellion or another unit and you've got yourself an epic unit.

I don't know if I've ever seen a unit inspire so much terror except for maybe the new mine. Oh no terran's getting something good besides the marine, nerf it!! So funny. Immortal's still going to be as ridiculous as it is now vs mech, don't worry boys.
It's not about playing, I'm shit, I'll always be shit - I don't care about me. I care about e-sports, I care about good matches being casted which are dynamic, exciting and interesting. This unit genuinely looks like shit to esports to me, utter trash.
I get it the common consensus right now is that terran winning games without fighting an enormous uphill micro battle = bad for e-sports, but if this unit brings the matchup any closer to Broodwar TvP then consider e-sports improved.
Make the other races deal with an uphill micro battle at the pro level don't dumb it down evenly instead :/ I like seeing cool shit that *I* could never do - you don't see enough (not to say I'm that good but you get me, I hope)
eg: recently squirtle did some slick as fuck warp prism zeppelin micro in a match, it was great.
If Micro was all that could be interesting at a pro level, everyone would be watching WC3 right now. I'd like to see positional play be an option for other match ups besides TvT. Protoss breaking terran lines used to be tense to watch. Just because you don't understand it doesn't mean it's dumbed down.
Wc3 is still pretty huge (china) and was incredibly entertaining to watch. The only reason wc3 pro scene declined is because sc2 came out with incredible prize money and wc3 lost sponsors etc. And the Orc vs undead match up was a pretty uphill battle for undead on the pro level. People love to watch micro. DOTA is all about micro of one hero.
Still really dislike Swarm host and viper. Swarm host because zerg doesn't need another 'send lots of annoying free pathing blocking crap', and Viper because abduct just seems and looks ridiculous. So much for rewarding good positioning.
Tempest still looks awkward, gimmicky and useless. Don't know about the oracle, depends on range of mineral goop, though its still pretty boring and uneventful to just see someone shift queue goop then have opponent a-move their workers. Its very squishy so too short a range and 1 turret will shut it down.
I feel like if they took autocast off the warhound it would actually be a pretty decent unit. Encourages micro, but not too extensive as its essentially just spam click every few seconds and you get a decent reward for doing so.
EDIT: That said, banshees to force stalkers in to warhound would make for a really tough 1/1/1 to deal with...
Remember the widow mine is most a single target unit. The video shows zerglings but in the case of other units, it would be so powerful since its AOE damage is just 35. The long range of the widow mine is necessary since it's not a true AOE damage. It does 160 damage only to the one primary target.
