In your place of the word maybe. I've got 2 gay friend who are together and doesn't mind AT ALL (from their mouth) when we call somebody or themself faggot. In the context of playing a game, we consider being part of expression friendly frustration. Why can't you accept that people don't always live like you ?
Emphasis mine.
Go walk into a gay bar in town and start randomly calling people you don't know there faggots. Might be a slightly different response.
This is true for all social signifiers. You always have to ask yourself whether correcting your friend is worth losing your friend. If it isn't worth it--then you don't do it. Doesn't matter if it is bigoted speech, opposing sports team, boring TV Shows, etc...

Things such as not being a hate mongerer such as Destiny? I agree completely.
eSports is ruining this community. Remember when this site was for people that loved Starcraft? Now it's just a cesspool for people wanting to create drama rather than sharing our passion for a game. SMH :/

I offer a hearty "fuck you" to all those in the TL community who thought it was a good idea to contact sponsors like Razer directly and complain to them. You are literally killing E-sports.
I hope you all enjoy yourselves are you celebrate this victory of morality over evil, as if you were a group of Christian mothers from Mississippi who managed to get a violent TV show pulled off of the air in order to "protect the children".
For the first time I'm embarrassed to be a member of this site.
I feel the worst when I think that we have a new community (BW) coming to be a part of the SC2 community and this is what they may walk in to right from the start.
Such silliness really, drama for the sake of drama =(

Yes, because clearly having public e-sports figures mouthing off racial slurs should be totally accepted by the community and won't in the slightest put people or sponsors off getting involved. So we should just let it keep going.
Get a grip for god's sake! It's nothing to do with jealousy and everything to do with common decency.

Yes. People are jealous of a LoL player that does bad at the MLG open bracket.
In seriousness, if it was jealousy then the hate mail would have been sent to Slayers, or IM, or MVP. If it was jealousy it would have been attacks on DRG, MMA, MKP, etc...

It can't be helped. People love drama, gossips and etc. This won't go away sadly to speak but what done is done.

100% with you. That behavior is condamnable. But because this one is bad does NOT means that calling someone a faggot over a game is.

Having one of their players frequently throw around racial slurs in front of an audience of thousands is a liability for a team depending on corporate sponsorship?
What a shocker!
This has got nothing to do with a toxic community, witch hunts or anything else. It's just what's going to happen as esports gets bigger. Professionals are expected to behave professionally.
when i lose a close game i usually blame Mike Morhaime, Dustin Browder or my mouse manufacturer. its never been a homosexual's fault. or the fault of a citizen of vietnam.
but now that Destiny has "lost" this sponsorship i'm sure its the fault of both of these groups of people. i'm just waiting for Destiny to provide us with the epistemological basis for this axiomatic truth.
as everyone can see reading these Destiny threads has really expanded my vocabulary.

And then realize we're on the internet, and then realize Destiny has no history of doing any bad thing in any official event, whether online, or location based. Can't say that last one about some people.
Destiny insulted a random person, in a random video game on the internet, no more, no less.
I know people will just respond with, "He is sponsored, and he has an image to uphold", Destiny knows this and his sponsors should have known how Destiny acts while laddering, against random people on the internet. If what Destiny did deserves this reaction, then consistency is needed, on all counts, not just the ones people deem unacceptable.

How is it toxic. I believe that it was very just such as what happened with orb. Don Imus got fired basically doing the same thing. Players should be policed
Not by you. I guess this is one of the positive sides of KeSPA, they're being serious esports-police and that is much better than a bunch of whiny people emailing sponsors to flame the player they hate.
