The biggest cost when bringing your significant other along is always travel costs anyway. $10-20 off the pass doesn't make a difference when you're looking at an extra $200 plane ticket etc.

Smoking is another bad example, as it is a danger to others. Since i was referring to a german I don't feel the need to explain it. And you should maybe read my posts. Did i say it was discrimination considering smokers? And what did i say THE SENTECE BEFORE THAT?

If you want to attract more females : organise stuff that females are more interested in.

And if she's your girlfriend and you're inviting her, you should be paying for her anyway so the cost to her is irrelevant.

You are just raging over something, that is apparantly in german and need no explanation.

I do get the idea that a lot of girls are going to events to support there boyfriends, but still it makes no sense to let them in cheaper just to get some eye candy. If MLG wanted to have more eye candy walking around, they would hire girls. On January 18 2012 01:00 TheLOLas wrote: I really hope this is a troll thread. If it isn't you are really saying something about your girlfriend if you think she is not worth the actually ticket price. What about chicks who are really into eSports? They get half off just because they have a vagina? Thats ridiculous. K, you guys are "killing eSports". Eye Candy? Did you read the OP? I guess not. Hire girls? You are the real dick sir. While I attended MLG Columbus last year I drug my girlfriend along. Being a good sport she agreed. From my general observation at the event the only females there were in the same situation as me. Simply coming along as a good gesture to their boyfriends. + Show Spoiler + The issue is since I paid full price for her pass I felt like she needed to be there with me simply to get my money's worth. It would be nice if there was an option to purchase a ladies pass at a discounted rate. Not only for a 1+1 situation but maybe make the idea of coming to an MLG as a lady, not attached to a male, more appealing due to the lower price of entrance. I'm sure she'd also love having a wrist strap in a shade of pink instead of the MLG red as well. The precedent is set already at bars which have a ladies night to try and even the numbers. I feel like if I could purchase a pass for my girlfriend at a discounted rate it would be easier for me, on a personal level, to have her just come and go as she pleases from the event. She was very lethargic and, honestly, bored during the second day of the event. Anyways just a suggestion. Thanks for reading. Yep its definitely illegal to drug someone.

I oppose the idea. Also; I'm sure she'd also love having a wrist strap in a shade of pink lol.

Any clue about ecnomics and marekting in general? No? K. I do, I work with and around it. You won't even believe how much coloring affects females especially. And if there were a said reduce you could just say the production company to give you 10% pink wriststrap for a cost which will only affect fixed costs (they would "just" need to stop machines for several seconds, switch the program and run it again, depending on the output it would be a small amount of %-spending). On January 18 2012 01:09 SimDawg wrote: While the precedent is there there's absolutely 0% chance of this happening. I think enough people in the SC2 community would be pissed that there'd be no economic reason to apply this. So you say that you don't want that eSports will once be accepted in western cultures. How can that help the growth of said economy?

I oppose the idea. Also; lol. The pink thing was kind of an afterthought haha ^^ She actually doesn't care for the color pink Anyways the reason I thought a gender balance would be a good idea because until eSports stops becoming a male dominated sport it will always have this stigma of being a bunch of socially awkward neckbeards getting together and playing video games. I know it isn't true, you know it isn't true but I think society as a whole believes it is very much true. However if we could get to a better gender proportion it would help alleviate this stigma. I actually had to leave for about half of Day 02 at MLG Columbus because I was also participating in this thing called Warrior Dash. Basically it is a huge obstical course. It was pretty fun. Anyways you are on teams which was basically a bunch of my girlfriend's friends and some of their friends and/or boyfriends. They saw my and her MLG passes and I could tell by the looks on their face they thought it was awkward. Remembering back to Day9 saying you should never be overly defensive about the subject I just started going on and on about how cool it was and how happy I was to finally attend an MLG. They seemed to start warming up to the idea that it may actually be a pretty fun event. From personal anecdotal evidence there does seem to be a stigma for eSports that is alive and well. I'd think addressing the gender disparity would be a good first step to alleviate this problem. SC2 will never gain mainstream appeal while there are are a bunch of people blindly hating on it.

Is it now my fault that u are incapable of abstracting? Or to take it down to your niveau: Mabye you can't abstract because u are American. Did you maybe ever wondered that acceptance of a thing is needed to grow it in a market? Or to put it in your words: Try to market electric-charis in europe. User was warned for this post
