Also some extra baracks in front of the bunkers would have helped a lot, not letting the zealots go into melee range and deal dmg to the bunkers, since he needed the extra bio production buildings anyway.

I don't think he wasn't prepared per se. His vikings were at the front when the attack started, he move commanded them to the back at almost the exact moment the colossi started firing on the bunkers. He was too busy setting up the PF and extra rax, extra CCs, not paying attention to the only thing that mattered, the battle.
