![]() I somehow got myself into reading Oryx and Crake for english last year, reading it now. Damn, not the happiest and book and certainly doesn't increase one's faith in humanity.

So far my list is: Starship Troopers Ender's Game Stranger in a Strange Land The Hyperion Contos (Book 1 is definitely one of the best books I've ever read!!!!) Very nice! I agree about Book 1 of the Cantos ![]() I'm reading Changes by Jim Butcher. Dresden Files are addictive.

Lovecraft (which I have not read yet). Just borrowed Swiftly by Adam Roberts from the library, haven't read it yet as I am reading Rama II at the moment.

Currently reading : Getting better with every page. At the beginning the hero's personnality annoyed me a bit. A bit more French litterature. Next, because English litterature is better than English food : ![]()

![]() sad thing: i think the saga gets worse with every book: the first was great, the second one was ok, the third wasnt that good though, the fourth (i'm at about the half) isnt that good either

So. Damn. Good. I haven't read books that fast in a while, but I simply couldn't put them down. I almost find it hard to believe he is going to wrap this up in a single book to complete the trilogy. I would've thought the story would have been further along by the end of the 2nd book.

Ender's Game is pretty darn close to the best book I've ever read, but aside from Ender's Shadow all the other ones are poor to middling at best. Now Reading: Some Malazan books, I guess (Stonewielder at the moment). e: spoilered quoted image.

![]() Very good read. Six different stories which are somehow connected (won't spoil it) and each story written in a completely different style. Amazing work by David Mitchell. Going to start reading: ![]() ![]()

![]() Midway through it at the moment. Can be a little slow at times (for some reason Shelley decided to go off and tell a tale of a relatively unrelated family for a good few chapters) but there's a few decent themes which makes it interesting and the monster is certainly a tragic character.

I was actually thinking of reading the sequels, but if they are only going to disappoint I'm probably going to favor other books ahead of it.

Something like "The Wind-Up Girl" seems like far better sci-fi imo.
