As I watched Huk recover from a position that was almost unwinneable primarily due to obscene mismanagement from Nestea a sense of cold dread started to spread over me. How is it possible that the best, safest, most calculating zerg player in the world would start throwing away units like that? How on Earth does mother f***ing Nestea just let 20 mutas sit in Huk's base and get killed?!
The sense of dread wasn't because I am a particularly big Nestea fan, it's due to the fact that I'm a BW fan and this brings back some bad memories of a situation which I HOPE WITH ALL MY HEART isn't happening here. What I'm talking about of course the Savior match fixing scandal. Now I'm sure the Huk supporters will want to think that Huk got back into that game by his own skill, and it's true that Huk showed some excellent perserverance, but the fact of the matter is that Nestea simply allowed Huk to win that game. Whether or not it was intentional is the real question.
There's already been several incidents of this nature in SC2 thus far. Of course the major news is the blatant Coca/Byun scandal, but also the Puma/Idra match in the IEM reeked of one player (Puma) intentionally under-performing. While throwing the game to help a teammate isn't the same thing as what Savior did by any means, it is still a serious issue and hurts the integrity of the sport. The BW map fixing scandal wasn't so long ago that these players shouldn't be aware of the implications of throwing matches.
Now I am aware that there's no concrete proof that Nestea intentionally threw the game against Huk, and there's not even a clear reason why he would do so, but it should be clear to anybody with any SC2 experience that this game should not be considered a comeback. This was a meltdown, and what makes it so suspicious is that handling and maintaining a strong lead is essentially what Nestea does best. A f***ing diamond league player probably could have finished that match off against Huk. Sorry, but there's quite simply no way that Nestea was giving an honest effort.
