I didnt post any replays as its not one specific thing but just a general observation i wanted feedback or advice on or hear others stories. I got a warning and thread locked. I dont under stand why. I also got one usefull response, and also 3 that i can only describe as rude and tbh what im finding typical of the sc2 community. the more i follow and get involved in this game and community the mroe dispointed i get. Are you serious? Your post was a wall of text that essentially said "I think I should be a very good player, I play Zerg and I lose vs T and P far worse than me" that basically = balance whine thread. Teamliquid isn't a place for you to vent about losing to an allin. But let me actually help you. You scout that he doesn't have an expansion and has 2rax, then you scout that he still doesn't have an expansion. And then you conclude you're behind in workers? And then you lose to the timing attack you should have known was coming for 5+ minutes? What kind of advice are you expecting? Macro better, scout better. That's the ONLY piece of advice one can give if you don't post replays. Oh yeah, and stop being cocky. You're worse than those players if you keep losing to them, not better. Lastly, I don't understand why you expect everyone to take the time to think of some solutions for your gameplay when you basically whine imba the whole time and don't take the time to post replays. You detailed one example game but didn't post the replay so people couldn't take a look. You most likely have problems with making too little drones if you fall so far behind, you need to phase them better, not just make pure units for 5 min after you scout an allin. You should make enough to survive -> drones again -> enough to survive etc. so that when he moves out you can turn your production completely into units and hold in time and then use the economic advantage, if you are behind in workers 2v1 base then the opponent isn't even allin.

seriously, starcraft 2 is blessed with the best and fairest gaming community in the whole world, and tbh we dont really appreciate people like you who pull stunts like this. If you think this is rude, just try playing HoN. i dare you

If this site is the best and best mannered then i feel bad for sc2 community Nah, this only means that you need to review your replay a bit before posting here. It is part of the rules. Don't tell me you can't recognize an obvious macro or micro flaw when you review your replay, and if you do then you don't need people to give you advice about what did wrong because you already know. These rules are made to reduce the amount of threads asking for "What did I did wrong" and where the answer is often "you macro'ed badly, practice more" or "your micro is poor, go practice it". The strategy forums is named strategy because it is for people who struggle with a certain strategy/build order, but don't have huge problems with basic macro/micro (AKA these error aren't the reason theyh lost the game). I promise you there is no site more helpful then this one to get better, you just need to learn to use it for the good reasons, not make people do your work (analyzing replays before you even look at them, for example).

All I can say is, that was well deserved ... 1) You complained about losing to horrible players, not realizing you are horrible yourself if you are stuck in silver and actually trying to learn. 2) It was a balance whine without any substance to the post. 3) It had nothing to do with strategy. If you wanted to learn to get better, you should have made a post like: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [H] Need basic tips to fix my low level silver play I am stuck in silver, and can't improve. I keep losing to T and P who does really weird stuff, but I just can't seem to hold it off and or get ahead in economy. I know I must be doing something wrong, but I keep trying to react to what I scout and getting it wrong. Here are 4 replays of recent losses, 2 vs T and 2 vs P. (include replays here) I would be very grateful for any help to point out some easy things I can change to improve my play so I can get out of my slump, because I don't really know what to do to improve. ------------------------------------------------------------------ I guarantee that a post like that would have gotten you plenty of useful replies that would have helped you improve your play by a lot ... instead of cluttering up the strategy forum with a useless thread. Also, since you are stuck where you are: I guarantee that your problems can be fixed by studying a pro and what they do for the first 6 minutes, and just copy that exactly.

In short: most help me threads come across as people just being too lazy to figure out for themselves how to improve. I don't even read the strategy forum anymore because of things like this.

If this site is the best and best mannered then i feel bad for sc2 community TL is all about making people not waste time. If you're asking why you lost to a marine push at 8 minutes ZvT and you're floating minerals and don't have a baneling nest, the answer is so obvious if you understand the basics that it's a waste of time for people to answer it. You don't have to be a pro, but it's a strategy forum, not a learn2macro forum.

He replies with 'The axact type of person and posts i was talking about' to a very reasonable and mannered answer. I guess this thread will get closed soon :/

On August 25 2011 21:18 poda wrote: The axact type of person and posts i was talking about poda how old are you? You need to understand that these posts are actually the best you can get. He came off harsh to you because he decided not to be an overly nice carebear like other people have in this thread in order to represent TL as a mannered community. If you find him to be rude then I can assure you 100% that you'll have a lot of trouble dealing with your future boss in the work place. What he gave you was a criticism, and you are coming off to me as a martyr. In fact I find you doing more harm to our community by making us look like the villains without much consideration of what our intentions are when we make our posts. I wouldn't step in to make a post if Shikyo didn't attempt to offer any help to you but he clearly did, just in a manner that don't seem to fond of. But now I see you labeling him as rude and a poor representative of TL I am extremely offended and upset by you poda. I see that you opened up a little to the community in a few previous posts (TLers will take the time to read entire threads), but it is still unacceptable for you to view Shikyo's post so negatively. You don't become a better player, or rather a better person by having someone hold your hand and say nice things into your ear. You need a coach to drill you hard, and push you to your limit- that doesn't work with your current ideals, quite frankly the world isn't that easy of a place where everyone will be up to your standards of civility. Also, Starcraft 2 is not just a game. It's more than that to many of us, so we are passionate about it that's why our responses seem so strong. You've been interpreting it as rude, when it's just passion. You seem like an understanding person so I hope you get what I'm trying to tell you.

On August 25 2011 21:18 poda wrote: The axact type of person and posts i was talking about If anything, I honestly think if anything you're being rude... If you want someone to help you improve you need to put in just as much effort into improving as you expect other people to help you. He has no idea what problems are in your play because you havn't shown him, yet you get mad at him when he tells you to work on the two most vital areas of Starcraft. Not to mention, getting rid of your attitude is likely the best thing you can do in general; don't think your opponent is worse than you if he beats you. If you want some general tips to improve, maybe you should watch some of Day9's Newbie Tuesday... I'ma reccomend 184, 261&257, and 340/341. Number 252 is also an excellent one.

All you did was hit the strategy forum with a wall of text which constituted nothing but a not so subtly concealed balance complaint and when it got closed you went to complain about it with another topic in the wrong forum and continued your rude streak.
