This is a discussion for reason on why people tend to use cheesy strats in order to get wins. My guess is that:
1: They are really bad, and cant win with out it 2: They are on a losing streak and think it will break it 3: They are just looking to make people really mad
I have lost games to 7 Pools and the players have nothing to say besides "you lost" when you constantly say that they suck and cant play the game.
What do you think is the real reason people cheese? And do you think cheesing shows any skill at all?

Maybe you should read your signature.
Also, if you can't hold off a 7 pool after encountering it multiple times, what are the odds that you're going to hold off your opponent harassing you on multiple fronts while expanding and macroing? You've gotta be able to beat simple builds before you can pretend to be better than your opponents.
|
I think it is because they like the more easy wins. Sometimes it can even be a logical decision to cheese. Like as a Z if I get my expansion blocked and my P opponent goes forge FE then I will just baneling bust him and win, instead of playing catchup for 15 minutes and lose after.

Neither, just adds variation to my game. Even at tournament play level its important to cheese once in a while so that your oppenent doesn't automatically go extremely unsafe builds and wreak the profits.

I wrote a little blog about dedicating a day to trying cannon rushes. Having never cheesed a single game before in 400 and, thinking it was a shitty way to win only used by shitty people i came to a few conclusions. Mostly, it is very very fun to do, very tense, almost a completely unique experience in sc2 for me and i do not consider myself a douche, as i used to consider everyone who cheesed. I wont be using it all the time from now on but as a trick in my arsenal of builds i think its pretty valuable, also a great way to just say "fuck it, lets have some fun".
And the fun had nothing to do with the other person being angry

Cheese is just part of the game. Almost every player incorporates some sort of cheese into their list of used builds.

They will cheese because they were cheesed before :p
doom loop >:I

Let he who is never done cheese, cast the first stone.
Who knows why? For shit and giggles and easy wins.

You should ask every single Terran on Ladder why they 2 rax, and/or have a fetish for pulling 99% of scvs.

If you lose to 7 pool it is you who sucks.

Im willing to bet you have lost to a 7 pool in your time

Because cheesing gets you wins. That's all.
At pro level, cheesing from one time to another is important so that your opponent doesn't always go for the super economical build. At amateur level ( mine, and I assume that it is yours too), it is an easy way to gets wins. There is nothing wrong with it ([Rant] execpt the absurd power of the terran cheeses[\Rant]), so learn to deal with it, and do not say that your opponent sucks when he just have beaten you.
|
Why do you tell people they suck when they just beat you? You're the one who suck if you can't scout and defend vs cheese or all-ins.
A quick win is still a win, and if a player prefer that well then should you as opponent just shut the fuck up and play your game and not care so much about hes. There is no rule that you have to play macro-games.
So learn to deal with cheese and all-ins and make him cry. Peace!

yah dude a 7 pools so hard to execute. Click the hatchery, make a drone, get 200 minerals, B,S, Click the hatchery again, Select larva ZZZ. Im pretty sure a fucking kid with downs can do that.

Yeah like a poster above said, people will sometimes do it instead of playing catch up when they're behind in econ.
Personally I rarely cheese, but sometimes it's just fun to do. Especially if I'm drunk, I'll just find it hilarious. I think that every good player should have a couple cheese builds up their sleeve for situations like tournaments when you're down one or two games and you need to catch up. And sometimes you just don't feel like playing a long game.

cheese is a necessary part of the game, to punish greedy builds. A cheesable build is invalid.
|
Cheesers suck. If they cant play a real game with a real build then they are bad. Thats basically what it boils down too. They realize they suck ass and when you dont do a "cheesy" strat they have no real way of winning.

Playing a cheese strategy is part of the game - if you can't defend a cheese it is a part of your game that you need to improve; not the fault of cheeser.. This has the makings of a super terrible QQ thread. Get over it - you got cheesed; call the wambulance. You don't need to post a fucking topic on an online forum to rebuild your confidence.

its hella intense and nerve-wracking
people play to have fun and easy wins are awesome when you get them. its just a part of the game, i never really cheese myself but every now and then when i do its pretty fun
