Your post makes you sound bitter like you've had a lot of bad experiences being cheesed. Cheesing doesn't make you a bad player unless that's all you do. Even the tip top level players cheese every now and then. Didn't you see FruitDealer 6 pool in GSL season 1? You think he's a bad player?

If you can't hold off mediocre cheese, they're probably better than you.

They may have just realized it and decided to cheese and not waste their time.

I dont think cheese is bad, but what is bad is relying on it to get you every win. A good player can do more then 1 strat. a Bad player can only cheese. and when he only cheeses and thinks hes good because he wins games is what really is the main source. Cheese fills all these noobs egos.

Cheese is part of the game and it keeps you on your toes. Imo game would be pretty boring if no one cheesed.

A good player can also hold off a 7 pool. You shouldn't be blaming them for doing it but rather blame yourself for losing against it

I do it because I'm a magician. A magician performs a trick knowing he could fuck or totally pull it off. Same with cheese, if you can pull it off it's hilarious.

Lol okay - confirmed everything i had assumed from your OP.

Cheese is part of the game just learn to scout it and counter it and we can avoid these pleasant exchanges next time

So doubt this last very long

For real! No disscusion here just QQing.

@ OP: I can understand that it my be frustating to loose to cheese but you just have to except it as part of the game. As for why people do it, is because it is fun. It is not an instant win at all if they fail they fail epicly. So, it does take some skill to pull of, but in my opinion not as much as to defend it successfully.

Durring my last gaming session I was on a 6 game win streak and then lost to a cannon rush and that was ok becuse it made me feel that my game is good knowing that the only thing that could take me down cheese.

Popular commentators like Husky have been repeating that the best way to improve your game is to practice macro. Probably true, but I wonder if it hasn't contributed to the anti-cheese mindset around here. When I was learning BW (still learning, really, but whatever), a more experienced player told me to:

1. First, learn to rush / cheese. (Let's not bother with the difference for the moment).

2. Then learn to defend rushes and cheese.

3. Then practice macro.

I think this is a better mindset that emphasizes that early game play is an important part of the game.

This maybe one of the best search-ninja-ings/OP-embarrassments I've seen. Even categorized the threads by who closed them. Bravo.

And don't you just love when people continue to reply to the thread as though nothing has happened, proving that they didn't read even the first page of replies?
I like the way the walls go out. Gives you an open feeling. Firefly's a good design. People don't appreciate the substance of things. Objects in space. People miss out on what's solid.

Funny how people talk about "real builds" opposed to cheese openings. Any build that has ever won you a game is valid and should be used if you keep winning with it. Not to mention that most cheese can be followed up with normal macro while beeing slightly or really behind in econ if you don't get an instant win. Also its funny to see how broad the definition of cheese is for some people, i have been accused of cheese when i do 4 gate timing pushes.
Basically if you don't want to get cheesed just do an early scout and adapt, scouting kills most cheese easily if you know how to counter it.

At pro level, cheesing from one time to another is important so that your opponent doesn't always go for the super economical build. At amateur level ( mine, and I assume that it is yours too), it is an easy way to gets wins. There is nothing wrong with it ([Rant] execpt the absurd power of the terran cheeses[\Rant]), so learn to deal with it, and do not say that your opponent sucks when he just have beaten you.

yah dude a 7 pools so hard to execute. Click the hatchery, make a drone, get 200 minerals, B,S, Click the hatchery again, Select larva ZZZ. Im pretty sure a fucking kid with downs can do that.

Playing a cheese strategy is part of the game - if you can't defend a cheese it is a part of your game that you need to improve; not the fault of cheeser.. OP is obviously angry. He shouldn't be accusing cheesers of stuff though. If he wants to discuss how dealing with mostly cheese is annoying then THAT would be ok in the correct place... not making your own rent thread in the sc2 forum.

Im willing to bet you have lost to a 7 pool in your time

Actually, I have never lost to it. A standard terran wall stops it.
