i think a lot of people watching GSL would agree with me here.
I'm not going to talk about how awesome tastosis is, if we look at what this jason dude is made of, we have:
-his voice is annoying as fuck(thats quite subjective)
-absolutely no knowledge of the game itself whatsoever
-screams about nothing but the obvious actions happening in game
i found a quote from a fellow TL member Demand2k that pretty much sums it up:
For me, Jason Lee is absolutely horrible. I'd stop watching GSL if he was a regular. The enthusiasm sounds completely faked (which it of course is), and there are small beauty breaks between every two words where he has to come up with what he has to say next.
IdrA was awesome though, and would have been a nice sidekick for Artosis I think
im just so pissed right now that i have to listen to this garbage casting, i hope blizzcon gets canceled so tastosis can get back early.

I get the feeling that people who like him like him because when you don't focus on what he's saying he sounds like a "real" sportscaster on ESPN or something.
I think that's a terrible standard to use, but then again he's just temping and he's not doing an abysmal job either. I certainly don't all caps hate him.

He doesn't need to know much about the game besides what the names of the units are and what they are doing. The actually strategy and in depth analysis is what his co-caster is for.
I personally like him, not as much as tasteosis but he is still watchable.

Thanks for sharing but next time keep it to yourself, I kinda like him and thought he did better than IdrA. Obviously IdrA has better game knowledge but he is not a great commentator.

I think you should give the guy more credit for the experience he has. I mean what qualifies you to make such statements? Are you a professional caster or gamer? I think not. Give the guy a break it's not life or death. If you really find it this bad mute him or don't watch, many others think he's doing better then expected.
Edit: and with more sc2 knowledge i would prefer to have this guy over artosis any day.

I disagree, I think he's the only commentator thats holding shit together while Tastosis are gone. He's really professional in the way he casts and sort of leads the show.
His "expert" co-commentators in Assem and Jorgen are fucking horrible though.

Jason Lee is a great commentator, his casting with IdrA was A level good

either way the korean obs are so much insanely better. I think its prob. too much to ask for to have Tasteless be awesome at the same time as obs

Can't belive how people can rage about Jason. I too think he's not the best, far from actually, but he's standing in and looking at how many options there are for english commentors in korea he's probably the best option. He's working with co-commentators that actually have knowledge and allows for some decent flow and decent excitement in the games.
Ungratefulness will get you nowhere. Grow up. :/

Jason Lee is doing quite well for his lack of game knowledge, which is why they have pro-gamer co-casters to help him out. He's there to supply play-by-play shout casting, and he's doing a great job.

God, crybabies everywhere is starting to get on my nerves. Just turn off the sound if its that bad, thats basically the alternative here. I love the fact that these guys step in to do US a favor. Maybe they arent the best casters, but seriously, stop crying please

Because you have to be a professional at any given thing to voice an opinion, right?
A Starcraft 2 caster should understand Starcraft 2. There's nothing else to say. And ESPN my god is not a good example to follow, although they do have fantastic understanding of the games. Just like the Halo 3 MLG frat boys. If they didn't know Halo 3 really well they'd be unwatchable too.

He's doing an adequate job, doing the best he can with what he has.
The TL community is supremely lucky to have the commentators we do. The problem is, people seem to crucify those that can't meet such a high standard. Tastosis will return, no reason to get annoyed. If its a big deal just turn off your sound.

Honestly, if he was a 3rd caster he would be awesome, he's WAY better at sticking to the program then tastosis, and i would love it if someone like him would keep them in line...

Jason Lee is a good commentator. He did very well in BW, and I doubt he's casted enough in SC2 to deserve such critizism as he's getting now. By far one of the most professional commentators.

There are always two commentators and one of them should be noob friendly (meaning for casual spectators). Most of them don't understand strategic depth and just wanna watch the show. Sure most TLers wanna hear IdrA but there are other people who don't care much about BOs, mind games...
If you don't like it then don't listen.

This. Having 2 casters with proper gameknowledge is good and all, but think about it. XeqtR and IdrA together would be, interesting to say the least.
