First of you all, you have to understand clubbing in Korea.

Clubs, such as NB (NoiseBox), are places where females and males go just to dance with their own gender preferably. I read somewhere here someone suggesting Hongdae and he is right. They are more liberal there and I suggest you check out Harlem there first. It is an American hip pop club where the ladies like to dance with men. =]

Other than that, if you want to dance and hang out with girls, go to a nightclub. Girls go there to get booked and have fun with men.

Don't get too hooked to Korean night life though! You might end up in 안마,룸빵, and other diabolical places.

so noise box is a gay club?

No...That's not what I meant. Sorry my English may not be very clear but women like to go to clubs just to dance by themselves or with their friends. Guys go to to dance with their friends or by themselves but a lot of guys do go to creep on girls. I'm saying that it might be harder to dance with girls in many clubs because, well, they just want to dance.

i see, where i am from people will call you gay to dance with other men.

Well I have been living in America for a long time now and yes, dancing with a man would be called gay here. But why is it gay to go clubbing and dance with your friends who are guys? I see it all the time in America. Guys go with a group of guys, go on the dance floor, and dance next to each other while checking out the girls. I do that all the time with my friends in Korea...but we don't go up to a girl and start dancing with her out of nowhere. That is considered very rude in Korea. So we just dance by ourselves or in groups just to have fun.

Hm, I should really work on my English again.

Stick with telling her you play sc1 and are good friends with Bisu. If you feel Bisu is to pretty for a name drop then use Effort.

From the other side of the world, I'd like to lodge the opposite complaint: everyone here is too loose, there are not enough women of integrity in clubs. What is a decent socialite to do?

I think it would be rude everywhere to just walk up to girl and dance with her without saying anything. What kind of friendly dancing are we talking about here, I'm picturing a group of guys in a circle.

btw your english is good.

Your English is perfectly fine. Surprisingly, even native English speakers take things too literally. I understood perfectly what you meant.

Now things might be different in Korea, but I very much doubt that the difference is as big as you make it out to be. People always say the same thing about their own countries and it always turns out to be wrong. But what do I know.

Anyway, you can easily walk up to a girl and start dancing with her, but you need a reason for approaching. Usually, grabbing her (not hard!) and leaning in to yell in her ear (assuming it's a loud club) and giving your reason for wanting to approach, usually "You're hot!" or "You're sexy!" works fine. Then you can just keep dancing and it will just naturally turn into the two of you dancing together.

Obviously, if you're scared shitless when it comes to approaching girls, doing that will result in immediate failure and will be VERY uncomfortable for the girl as you will come off as very incongruent. And please don't do it when you're drunk off your ass either, because surprise surprise! girls do not like guys who are drunk off their ass in spite of meeting you in a bar or night club.

Ok... the key to this does not lie in your approach. You can have the slickest, swuavest approach to a girl and then get rejected because she's in a commited relationship.

My point? It's not in how you approach the girl, it's in what kind of girl you approach. And to be honest a big part of that is in what kinds of clubs you choose to go to.

I guess since this is a starcraft website, it would be apt to say that it doesn't matter how good your roach micro is, you're still gonna get owned by void rays.

Yeah, but then the chance a woman you meet in a night club actually having a boyfriend is much lower than a woman you would meet on the street, because women go to night clubs because they are single and looking for dick. At least, most of them do.

Also, tons of women give the boyfriend objection because they do not want to have to deal with your chodey ass. The way you come off during your approach is what matters. What you say is irrelevant, really.

Thank you =].

Don't get me wrong though. I'm just giving examples the general reactions many girls give in Korea clubs. In reference to modern Korean culture, clubs are generally for dancing. Night clubs are to meet people of the opposite sex. I'm trying to say that you have a very low chance of dancing with a girl at a regular club. If OP want's a higher chance to dance with girls, he can go to a night club where he will get booked, and if the girl(s) like you, they will spend time with you, drink with you, and dance with you.

I know girls are generally the same any country you go to, but many girls in Korea will shy away from foreigners at regular clubs and tend to be more conservative when dancing with the opposite sex. Of course if you have the "suave", great looks, great personality, great moves, and so on, girls will be attracted to you.

That's one hell of an assumption there.

I have a fair number of female friends. They'll go to clubs because they want to hang out and dance with their female friends, because one of their friends just got dumped and they need to "support" her or they're going with their boyfriends. Yes, some of them do go to what we coin as "meat bars".

Even if you're in the right place you have to look for the right kind of girl. Protip: If you're not wearing a $300 shirt or you're not jacked, you should never target an alpha female and try to pick her up. Alphas don't go to bars to get picked up by guys, they go out to pick guys to go home with. There are girls who are desperate, low self esteem, etc and those are the ones you should target. But make sure to get the approval of the alpha they are friends with first.

Honestly this is 10x eaisier if you are good looking and 10x eaisier if you are rich (and 100x if you are both). Well maybe not 10, but at least 3 or 4.

There's a lot more to it than that. Many women use the "I have a BF" spiel as a way of telling you to fuck off. It's their safety net. In some cases sure, they actually do have a boyfriend and in many cases it isn't serious if he isn't there with her. Case in point it's an excuse and if you are an alpha male you know this and make a rebuttal, "Listen, I'm not here to talk about your problems. I'm here to have a good time!" Blah, blah, blah. You raise one good point though. You have to be receptive to the kind of girl in front of you to lure them in and the type of nightclub you end up in. Some techniques won't work on some women and vice versa.

This is why I don't like using 'common practice techniques' or pickup lines because you have about 5 seconds to break the ice and find out what kind of girl you are dealing with through their body language and not much more. Only advice I can give is be confident in your choices and be natural, open yourself up to them through your body language (i.e. don't ever cross your shoulders in a nightclub - closed, people see this and think you aren't having a good time; keep your drink at your side - makes you accessible). You'll be a lot happier that way.
