There should be an arena thread where terrible players who think they know what they are talking about because they are "#1 platinum" can bo5 people who actually play the game well. The losers name should be added to a list so people will know to take their posts with a grain of salt i completely agree with these thoughts though. This, i believe, will be the good part of having names on the forums.

Sean Day[9] Plott and Kevin QXC Riley even told us where they're currently living - Harvey Mudd . For these fine gentlemen that can actually travel the world engaged in esports, having their name publicized is a boon. For the common 30+ year gamer at night, responsible adult at day, it is a stigma.

- No stalking down bullshit or anything like that : most of the time I just do no want my name to be revealed unless it is needed. - CD-Keys are attached to a particular account. Ban / delete / warn this account. - They could simply become stricter. There is no way this is a good idea if it's mandatory.

Yea those "simple" solutions will probably work. Should YOUR CONSUMERS have to deal with it? No. Plain and simple. I was unaware that the forums were an integral part of my Starcraft II purchase. Personally I am tired of anonimity giving people on the internet the capability to behave like jerks. Besides, a name is not enough information to track someone down. And if you don't like it, don't sign up for the official forums.

So it is you. Awesome... we've just demonstrated how easy it is to find someone. I've never done that before, it took 5 minutes, and in another 5 minutes I could probably have your address - or at least something close enough that with some extra effort I could figure it out for sure. From there, what else? How can people suggest that isn't an issue in an age of identiy theft. Never mind the potential for random crazy people to take it upon themselves to "get back" at you for whatever they feel is worth their effort, whether it be physically, via some petty crimes or harassment. You think it's a stretch; but it has happened. Worst case scenario is a reality: people have been killed by people who have tracked them down online - some of those crimes committed over what most "normal" people would consider completely banal issues. Am I suggesting our lives are in danger for having our names in a forum? No. Do I think it's completely unnecessary and carries risks that outweigh the benefits? Yes. I found you in no time. I also know about a couple of your hobbies, I know your age, and I have a general idea where you live - all from info that, as per Blizzard's wishes, will be mandatory if you want to post in their forums.

"Potential employers googling your name and declining because you play games" I'm sorry but, if you meet the requirements of what they are looking for experience and skillwise, a google search on what you enjoy to do in your own time will not affect your chances of getting hired and if it does, it's against the law (Well, in Texas it is). Take them to court if you feel that the reason they did not hire you was because of a google search. They would have to explain the detail of your decline to the judge with ample proof and if it is not sufficient enough proof to back their reason, you have yourself a successful lawsuit .. This is the naive view of what's going on. Practically speaking, many employers use google/facebook to find out information about applicants. Furthermore, they don't have to mention to you when you are "no hired" that they did such a search on you name. Even furthermore, there's a strong argument to be made that information via google/facebook is publicly available and thus admissible in such decisions (analogous to how an employer can judge you if you come drunk to an interview vs. professing your love of keggers and frat parties on your facebook page).

This surely will reduce trolling, but activity will be reduced to almost nil. Edit: Does this mean that they are going to make our names visible on the Sc2 beta forums, or does this only concern new forums created after the 27th? Whatever, I am not going public with my name in that context. Still too much of a stigma connected to gaming in many circles, sad but true. Seriously, you do understand this is all about the ongoing spamming (well it has been like this on and off for about a year) in the starcraft 2 forums? I'm glad they are doing this change. EDIT: Hmm... well, I also like this because I recently got banned there ![]() ![]()

Personally i wouldn't like that just because i like to not give away any information about myself for free, don't need stalkers and robbers knowing where i live or my name etc.

It's happened many times. Get name, facebook, use deductive reasoning. If I have to explain any farther down the line then that, then you are just not worth talking to. No one has been able to tell me why just having one name per CD-key is not enough of a deterrent. Please do.

They are really pushing this Real ID crap on us, and in order to befriend people etc with RealID you have to give out your e-mail... This e-mail is the same e-mail you use to log into WoW/SC2 etc. Does anyone else see the flaw here? Sure you can grab an authenticator and all but it seems like it's only a matter of time until account hacking becomes even more prominent than it is now. As always, I could be completely and utterly wrong and I hope I am. Just my two cents :x

Plain and simply, they disagree with you, therefore your assertion that the consumers shouldn't have to deal with it, is wrong. You're pretty nerdraged as evidenced by your constant posts on here, so my suggestion to you would be to go outside, and do something else for a bit. You yelling at the top of your lungs isn't going to change the fact that you can no longer troll bnet forums.
