Widescreen monitors see more of the battlefield than 4:3 monitors. Unfortunately, I own a 4:3 monitor. >_<
The fastest, cleanest solution would probably to buy a widescreen monitor. But I find it rather silly to spend like $100+ for the new monitor, on top of what SC2 retail is going to cost, just to play.
Are there any workaround for this? Like software that "emulate" 16: 9 on a 4:3 monitor by adding black bars to the top and bottom. I don't mind black bars. Or running SC2 in window mode? (tried running it in windowed mode but doesn't seem to work)

What graphics card do you have? I think it's possible if you have a NVIDIA card.

If you can fit one of the 16 : 9 resolutions in your screen just select the largest widescreen resolution that fits into your 4 : 3 (I do that too, have 16 : 10 though).
