YaoYuan freezes intermittently with only sound and there's no VLC stream. yy works near damn perfect for me. might be some choppiness within the first few minutes but that's about it. 1.2 mbit connection

It means I'm 60 seconds behind, but it's smooth sailing when watching.

You can't possibly need each such a massive buffer: for a buffer to smooth out your stream, your only problem has to be that the stream loads at a variable rate - which is quite possible. However, at most the fluctuations in load rate would cause, say, a 5 second delay (if you had 0 buffer). Any longer and your problem isn't changes in load rate, it's just...a stream that's too slow to watch. Edit: are you sure that it's not hitting refresh that actually improved your Daum? Often when you refresh the stream you get placed in a room that's less full - this is how I get good Daum Sports streams, by simply refreshing the page repeatedly until it plays ok.
