Kal's first reaver didn't do enough damage, and mind took advantage of it on this map, using a 3 fact and the short pathing distance to do enough damage with the first push to put kal far enough behind till the end of the game.

If you are good at SC maps like this show it a little bit less. For example - it would be like adding hurtles and obstacles in a marathon to make runners run the race non-standard, as if it would show who the better runner is. So maybe it would make it more exciting for the viewer but worse for good players. That is just my take. For me, game consistency > excitement. Maybe that is the difference.

But this isn't a marathon. It's completely different. The different maps that force different styles highlight adaptability skills, micro, changing strategies, lots of different things. Strategies vary and are always changing, so forcing players to play the same style of maps over and over would not do StarCraft its justice.

Low-econ play like that one Neo Requiem is VERY much a part of StarCraft, look at the game's history.
