Julyzerg is a medicore zerg. He has the FASTEST reactions of any zerg player. He is the BEST aggressive player, but he isn't that great. His strategy and macro are lacking Esp in zvt. ZvP he is an artist, on a low econ canvas, against top pro's he never plays a macro zvp and there is a reason for that. I think Julyzerg is good enough to win any league with the right groups, he is not better pound of pound (hehe) then thezerg or effort. All my opinion of course

I understood what he meant, I was saying if there were two explanations, one he doesn't care about his team and two that he is nervous for his team but not for himself, then I guess the second option is more likely.
As for him being mediocre, while I agree his zvt has not kept up with the times, golden mouse, end of argument. I mean you can't judge any great players only on their latest performances.

July is way beyond mediocre 5 osl finals 3 titles you cannot call someone like that mediocre. You want macro zvp go check july v best game 3 osl finals, or zvt check july v sea in their first meeting although it was awhile ago i watched it live and that game gave me chills. He just knows that his major strength is micro and tries to capitalize on that in particular frequently, the other areas of his game are not weak he is just is insanely confident in his control.
EDIT: He is sometimes plagued with a bit of overconfidence though.

I don't think beating luxury in a bo1, rock in a series, backho in a series and best in a series is a great accomplishment. Yes you can judge players by results. For 2 years julyzerg has always been a top 30 gamer but never a good one. He got one league where everything went his way. Sorry but as much as I like him he has a few definate strengths but he will never be a top zerg again and thus regardless of his great micro and timming he will fail to the top few zergs,toss,terrans consistently.

Yeah I did read it and agree he has a great grasp of the games psychology. Does understanding it make you immune? (shrugs). Its just weird. I only started watch starcraft 2 years ago, was July mediocre in proleague back in '04? Maybe he just misses POS.

Yeah i started 2 years ago as well, probably alot more pressure back in POS he was the workhorse and his team depended on him quite some time.

I dunno why people are so surprised at this match.
OGN has only two real ace options, Leta and YarnC; the rest of their players are simply much worse than those two. July and Hwasin are the underdogs against both players, so that leaves just Kal and Calm for STX. Leta and Kal met twice last season, and Leta walked all over Kal both times; however, Calm and Leta played earlier this season, and Calm won a fairly decisive victory. YarnC is the favorite against Calm(as we saw in the first match), but a heavy underdog to Kal.
In other words, Leta > Kal > YarnC > Calm > Leta, so each team chooses one of their two and hopes they guessed right.
Sadly, my team lost the guessing game and will probably lose the match.

To any fucking protoss player who didnt just suicide his units randomly that would have been a relatively easy game after failed 3 hatch ling.

Yarnc ran 3 hatch lings off 3 base, just slightly cutting drones. Able to take advantage of it because Kal literally fucking let him back in the game by not making observers.

Kal made seven corsairs in response to seeing four scourge. That's the only thing that allowed Yellow to win that initial fight of hydralisks vs. zealots. Kal would have outmuscled him if he hadn't played like such a douche.
Aside from the stupid zergling attack, Yarnc was in great form, though. He played really well.

didn't get the hatch in the push, yarnc found his unprotected third as it warped in, kal didn't get observers, yarnc had a few nice drops.

it was'nt a all in really, and i think he did some damage, but kal definatly came out on top. Yarnc never lost his grip and kal sent so many units do death and it really crippled him mid game and if u let zerg dominate mid game there is so little chance in late game. GG's

Cause he is not Jaedong wich always has advantage in zerg favored map.But loses after.

it seems like ZvP is evolving back to lurker ling play, which I like a lot. Have to wait when protoss switches to sair reaver. Then zerg switches to more hydra play and that means less wins for zerg (because protoss goes back to ground later games again, while zerg stays hydras).

Ask kwark about that build... he is a B+ protoss from this forum, its one of his two main zvp builds and it fucking rocks(speed zeal-mass sair) esp vs low eco zergs.
Yarnac got lucky with army placement a few times and never stopped applying preasure to a very army dedicated protoss.
Watch any jaedong vs P vod from katrina and except the ling all in it is the exact same playbook.
Esp jaedong vs challrenge or jaedong vs much. EXACTLY the same midgame-lategame idea's and defensive techniques. I was wondering when I would see a zerg do it like that.

I think its mostly correct, based on the last update in the R&S thread (with some corrections that were mentioned in the thread and that I noticed were out of sync with the list at the end of matches). I think this is mostly correct, and at least the top 6 I'm pretty sure are correct:

After watching the yarnc bisu ZvP I noticed that yarnc definitely had been practicing his one weak MU. But I hardly expected this, a dominating win over one of the three best PvZ:ers in the world.
I think Yarnc suddenly surpassed his brother.
Ps. Imagine what a different MSL we might have had if yarnc had learnt this kind of ZvP before facing jangbi?

Yeah I don't know what you're talking about lol. I'm not even an OGN fan, but that's quite wrong. They've been a top 4/5 finishing team for 2 years now, and before that, they were ranked 6th, hardly low-tier (coincidentally, STX finished in last place that season). Probably the most relevant season, Shinhan Bank 2008 (because its most recent and has the most similar lineup), they finished the season ranked 3rd (which I might add was hailed as STX's breakout season - when they fell short for 4th). OGN is not, and has not been a low-tier team lol.
Anyways, at least STX didn't lose to eSTRO like CJ (who by the way has also beaten Samsung and Lecaf, as well as Woongjin)

Well, it was pretty close. Both Hwasin and Kal, especially Hwasin, wasted their advantages in their games and ended up losing. It's ok, not the end of the world. But if STX wants to really contend for anything at all, they need Hwasin to pick his pace fast.
