Razz SPANISH BROADCAST OliPatrick & YuSC RUSSIAN BROADCAST Dewalt RESTREAMING or STREAMING the EVENT without permission is NOT ALLOWED, our goal is to maximize viewers on the official BSL channels, so we will try to attract some sponsors.
We are starting with next season of BSL! Every weekend 18:30 CEST! Huge thanks for all the donators and Patreons, who supported BSL17 Goal. Thanks to you we will have yet another great season of BSL!
P.S. We are only 40% in with the BSL Season 18 Goal - will it be the last stream of BSL ? I hope that we will show StarCraft Power again and meet the goal to come back with another epic season
The most terrible thing about Mihu is his defense, toughness and stability. After many Chinese players lost to him in the final many times, they became psychologically accustomed to losing to him, which made it more difficult to win him in the final.
📣 We are still missing $4885 to meet the BSL18 Goal. Thus why, we are looking for a sponsor, partner or big donator who will cover the missing part and help us continue with the BSL dream. Tonight we had ~5000 live viewers at English, Spanish and Chinese language streams - not bad for a 25 year old game. We can offer logo placement during all the games of Pro and Gosu Leagues (100 hours of content), shoutouts on social medias, intro involvement as well as gratitude from entire StarCraft scene for keeping their favorite tournament alive.

I didn't have time to watch live, but no winner interview? Is that because of timezones or? I imagine there is someone in the community that can speak both Chinese and English.
I wonder why the target for BSL has to be $10k. Wasn't it used to be $5k? Which is more realistic. And it's not like players won't join BSL because the prize pool is halved. It has been quite apparent for some seasons now that you would never get $10k from viewers donations and the majority of the money came from 2 or 3 guys with big pockets but for sure they can't almost single-handedly fund every BSL forever.
And setting the target too high may also discourage donations from some as well as they may think something like "if I donate another $10 we will still be way off the target anyway so why wastes my money?"

The Chinese stream on Trovo had 4000 viewer? The entire platform has like ~10000 viewer. You had like 700 Viewer, the Spanish Stream 500(?). You should probably mention that. You would need like 3 different sponsor, i highly doubt that this viewership attract a sponsor. Especially since your non-final stream attracts like 300-500~ viewer. The Stats
Wow. Impressive! China community seems huge. On which channel on trovo was it srreamed?

My thoughts exactly. Even the 5500 mark seems feasible.
5000$ for ProLeague / 250$ for Gosu (125/75/25/25) / 250$ for five ladder tours (50$ each) seems great to me.
1st - 2000$ 2nd - 1200$ 3rd - 800$ 4th - 400$ 5th to 8th - 100$ each 9th to 12th - 50$ each
Just a thought.
Anyway, thanks for another season. Big congratz to the winner and here's a toast for even more future BSLs

Brood War forever!
A chunk of the money has to be spent on production and casters as well, not just prize pool. And that's after assuming all the organizers work for free. So the prize has to be even lower.
But I think apart from some Chinese players, all BSL players have a job and none of them counts on prize/streaming money to live. No prize money would be dull but the prize doesn't need to be high. Just gather as much as the community can possibly give.

I was wrong, it wasnt streamed on Trovo, that was just another Spanish stream. Doing a little bit of research, it might have been streamed on https://www.huya.com/617694. I just cant find any viewer numbers, so it has to be:"Trust me Bro".
But 4k for chinese wouldnt be a whole lot. There are alot of them

Yeah i'm thinking in the same direction. Probably some of it must cover ZZZero's time and effort put into this. Maybe he doesn't take money for himself, but don't know if the Patreon support is enough for the time investment. We are all grown up people trying to survive after all. It's kind of a miracle what has been achieved by this great community keeping competitive play alive outside of Korea, because without a BSL or other smaller tournaments, gathering to play will probably fade out. And many people are giving their time and effort for free to achieve this which is humbling to say the least.
