I think P should go carriers...

I think the thirds are actually a little harder to take in comparison to Eclipse, FS, Polypoid since it is on low ground and the entrance is wider than a standard ramp. I think gateway man will prove to be strong here.
Also, T can easily contain on most maps since they are taesagi but I will consider it but need to see some evidence..

I was just kidding around about Lemon. No offense to the map makers and all, but that map is absolutely HORRIBLE!

Tundra's layout is good, but for people who have eye problems or are color blind. This map maybe an issues. It's BRIGHT!

Explaination: yeah I know my vote will not count; it was really hard to make a decision on all of these 3 maps; I saw the Vods posted (very helpful btw) and play tested them vs 2 comps);
What would be awesome is having a tournament with these 3 maps, you can really see and feel the effort and time and energy put into them, from their conception, to the testing, practicing, and finalizing details aka polishing off tough ends and eliminating mineral and gas collection, which, along with path finding, is what makes bw maps to me challenging and curious, you never know how they will react until you actually go and test them; Congrats to everyone involved, from the organizers, to the map makers, to the testers, to even the voters; Awesome stuff

I can definitely agree with you here. These finalist maps are all around exquisite and deserve to be adopted into leagues.

What a thoughtful and generous comment! Thank you, and thank you to everyone else who has checked out the thread so far, or even voted and commented. It means a lot to the map making community.

Why arent voting done via poll?

Comment votes easier to track.

Also better to have names of voters and deduce information (e.g., races and ranks associated with votes) for the purpose of data collection and knowledge creation. Also want to encourage comments where possible if it's not too much to ask of people (i.e., explain why they voted in the ways they did). Moreover, I think it's better this way for the sake of transparency, not to mention it may be interesting for people to see the names and votes of specific individuals, including high ranking players.
Shout out to Spider and CrystalDrag for collecting, organizing and presenting map related data in the BWMN discord throughout the contest series.

1) Wavelet 2) Tundra
Out of the maps, Wavelet is definitely my favourite. It's very difficult to decide between Tundra and Goodnight, with Tundra winning out in my mind because it's a 3-player map. IMO, 3-player maps are a very needed addition so with that in mind Tundra gets my second vote. With that said, Sanctuary is still a pretty good map, but it reminds me of Polypoid too much, so it remains as number 4 for me.

Two maps need to be listed yall, the organizers are using the dowdall scoring system which assigns 1 whole point for the map listed first, and 0.5 points for the map listed second and the map with the most points in the end will be declared winner
|
!) GOOD NIGHT 2) Wavelet
I actually like Sanctuary but the whole passage around the map is painful to play zvp for if you dont like play a turtly lurker style and the nat is really tough to wall proper for toss so ling all ins are really strong(I've mainly played zvp on this map). I think zvt could be nice though...

Because they look more weird than the others. Sad about the really weird maps that did not make it in.
I just took a look after my submission and it seems ALL the really cool people have voted the same way.
And many others just put Wavelet on top and GN on the bottom. Which is close enough.
I am HAPPY_NOOB

GN just looks extremely boring design and tileset-wise (compared to the other 3) to me. Getting sleepy just looking at it, but considering the name, maybe it's actually a good thing xD

I still love all the new maps and mapmakers, obviously. Thanks y'all for keeping the game fresh after over 20 years <3!

Big shout out to everyone who participated in one form or another throughout this contest series stretching all the way back to the end of February when the call to submit maps was made.
In my opinion, this was one of the greatest and most original contributions of the foreign scene to the game in the SC:R era. There is no other event that generously welcomes and democratically involves so many different stakeholders (i.e., map makers, TL users, map test players, broadcasters and stream viewers) throughout its organization and execution. These are all the elements or components that constitute the 'game', packaged together in unity in one single event. Wonderful stuff!
Bravo all of you

Scores of the final vote to declare #1 map of the whole contest series
![[image loading]](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/815864488825716766/882818374558683166/unknown.png)
Used Dowdall point system whereby 1.00 point is assigned to the 1st map ranked in a voter's list, 0.50 points are assigned to the 2nd map ranked in the same list, since voters were asked to list two of their favorite maps in order
Scores of the four finalist maps publicly voted to be play tested in separate tournaments
![[image loading]](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/815864488825716766/882818317893660742/unknown.png)
Used Dowdall point system whereby 1.00 point is assigned to the 1st map ranked in a voter's list, 0.50 points for 2nd map listed, 0.33 points for the 3rd map listed and 0.25 points for the 4th map listed, since voters were asked to list four of their favorite maps (out of the 12 maps) in order
Scores of the 12 semi-finalists maps publicly voted but only showing the scores of finalist maps within the top 12 maps for purposes of comparison with the finalist and final voting rounds above
![[image loading]](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/815864488825716766/882818262876962876/unknown.png)
Used a different (cumulative) scoring system. Voters were asked to list their top 8 favorite maps out of all accepted submissions and four more maps were added to those 8 maps to proceed to the next round i believe
Wavelet topped the charts at #1 consistently (i.e., during all voting rounds) by a somewhat significant margin, while GOOD NIGHT placed 2nd during the semi finalist and final voting rounds.
