This game is for entertaining only, if you restrict replays etc, people wont be very much entertained with wgt.
I hope you play another ladder skew coz i've seen several games where you abuse and your opponent leaves after 3 minutes..
And stop talking about owing the community to have his replay released, ofcourse we should be able to watch his and everyone elses replays when they are playing a public ladder.

Wgtour having so many replays is great for the community! Now people won't have to go through heaven and hell to get reps of good players anymore. There's one new rep a day on GG.net and 1 new rep a month at TL, so its hard finding fun reps of the best non-koreans nowadays. And yes its your right to restrict reps, still i think the 10% penalty is the best option, keeps those who don't really care from restricting, but still attracts korean pros because they can avoid showing their reps.

Entertaining for whom? You or the players? afaik, on the front page rankings, there were only two players off the top of my head that decided to restrict replays: Skew and DAy. I would say your entertainment as a viewer is hardly suffering by not being able to watch replays of two American players.
lol, you think it's this given right that everyone should be able to watch all the games from WGT? You enforce something like mandatory replay upload and I guarantee you that more players will pull a Keke, play for a few weeks then reset or simply not play at all. Those who wish to restrict their replays already suffer point penalty, which suffice to say, is a punishment in its own. The key thing is putting an option there for the players: upload reps or restrict with a penalty.
Lastly, you're right, this is a public ladder. Frankly to say, it should cater more to the actual players who do ladder, than those who just want to spectate.

"If you're going to continue to bitch, why not complain about DAy[9], who also has his replays restricted as well?"
BECAUSE SKEW IS THE ONE CRYING LIKE A FUCKING TWO YEAR OLD BECAUSE HE HAS TO BE PENALIZED FOR DOING IT. day isnt complaining like a gigantic baby like skew is.
skew said, " never seen such a ridiculous system as to give penalties for not wanting your practice games shown..." if u wanna restrict ur reaplays then take the fucking penalty and stfu. thats why i wont say anythingabout day, cuz he isnt crying like 2 year old.

Morningwood you were asked to manner up by a moderator. I suggest you fucking do so.
About reps, it is the players right to release or not release them, and he doesnt owe anybody anything. Many good players release all of their reps at the end of the season anyways, so wait for those.
I would like to have matchlists public though, as it makes it easier to spot abusers.

Yeah but he is right in the thing that giving penalty for restrictions brings benefits to the community and wgt

AS FAR AS I KNOW HE(good players) DON'T PLAY A LADDER TO ENTERTAIN YOU/ME. Pay for his reps if you are so interested.

WHO ARE YOU? THE WGT POLICE?

Sure, thats why PGT sucked, not a single gosu played there because they were sad that couldn't entertain noobs.
PS: I don't know who the fuck skew is, the first time I saw him on wgt I thought he was Idra. So, I don't care about him/his reps and I'm not his fan. I just hate people without comon sense.

the point is it should be everyone's decision, without criticism or penalty. that's all. anyone who disagrees with that is a crazy ass stalker.
|
i really dont know how many times i have to say that i dont want to see his replays, im just trying to explain the principle of the whole thing.
and all i want is for skew to stop crying....i mean if he doesnt like the way wgt is set up then dont play it, honestly i think we can live without him, rofl

It isn't really Skew, seeing as you are playing on a free server payed for by other people's money. This is a service provided by wgtour, and if you don't like it , well, you just lost the best place currently to practice all your strats for wgt. And logicly if its only for practice, why would you care about having to play 1 extra game for every ten you play to match others in points?
And i'd also like to add that while this is a minor inconvenience for you, its a huge joy to thousands of other bw-players who just likes to watch reps, alone or with friends. People can appreciate watching your and everyone elses games without being spies or crazy fans.

RAR RAR RAR ANGRY FLAMES !
I think the penalty is quite fair. The people who want their reps restricted (probably for weird practice reasons or whatever...) probably should care about losing 10% of their points since they are playing for practice rather than acheiving a pretty looking rank.... right? So following that train of thought, the penalty is fine how it is.
One of the great features of WGT is that thousands of reps become available that were not available before, it has been a defining aspect of the WGT ladder since its inception, and the WGT admins wanted to keep it this way, and allow "freedom of information" basically.
So people who want to restrict that will have to suffer a small, and reasonable penalty.

the way I understood it, I thought restricting matchlist was just a temporary "solution". and as for the new season, no matchlist will be restricted, but the replays of the players who restrict their replays will be disabled from downloading.. it makes most sense to me o_O
also, is it possible to add the games from complaint get added to matchlist? whether it be win/lose
|
Match lists WILL be public, you just won't be able to download restricted replays.
|
true spike, but since i know who X played, cant i download X's replays from his opponents match list ?
|
their fixing that bug atm.
|
You won't be able to download a restricted replay from anyone's match list.

Did savior owe the community to release his replays at the WWI, yes apperently coz that was the rules. if wgt would have rules that reps are released then they fucking owe it. Its for entertaining the community, i dont care if he plays for himself only, without the community he would play vs computer lol
do i owe the community not to hack when i play? no.. ofcourse i dont OWE anyone anything but that doesnt mean should do whatever i want
The best way to get new players to play BW and get good, wich we all want is to let them watch replays from good players and develop faster. omg
|
i think its good the way it is 10% aint much for those players who want to restric reps.

Do you realized you just debunked your entire argument? It's WGT's rules that allows players to restrict their replays in the first place. You have one serious misconception between rules and owing the community anything.
