I fail to understand the problem; no one is forcing anyone to play WGT, if anything be happy they even allow anyone to restrict their replays in the first place - it beats bitching about "less points" awarded by a long shot.

So in short; play and enjoy the free competitive ladder, accept the restriction rules or start watching the ice capades.

How come?
There will be a working anti-hack ready for season 14, if you are suspicious of someone you can still ask admins to check him, administrators have access to restricted replays and everyone has access to matchlist and game info - in other words, no real abuse is possible.

do i owe the community not to hack when i play? no.. ofcourse i dont OWE anyone anything but that doesnt mean should do whatever i want

The best way to get new players to play BW and get good, wich we all want is to let them watch replays from good players and develop faster. omg

Do you realized you just debunked your entire argument? It's WGT's rules that allows players to restrict their replays in the first place.
You have one serious misconception between rules and owing the community anything.

you're too stupid to argue with...

I want WGT rules to change so that u cannot restrict.. understand better now?

And that wasnt the most important thing of my post.
If new players wont be allowed to download replays from better players its going to be hard for them to catch up.. we want new players right?

Fuck, you non-playing dudes are greedy as hell.

Its every players decision if they want to restrict their replays or not. PGT didn't even use replays at all and that was the most popular ladder so far (taking in mind WGT just went for a beta season, im sure they'll outclass PGT as soon as real season starts)

You know what, if you want WGT to succeed as much as PGT did, let them have restricted replays. Because theres no friggin way koreans will be allowed / tempted to play on a ladder where people can download their replays.

Skew doesn't owe the community shit, he plays on a ladder for himself and to gain skill. Bunch of idiots coming here saying "lol skew you suck and yet you restrict your replays lololol" SO WHAT? Its his decision, maybe he's practicing strats for WCG or whatever, and that would be interesting for his WCG opponents.

Ladder was never about entertaining the non-playing members of this community, thats what we have showgames, rivalgames, streamed clanwars, hell streamed games from korea etc.. for. Ladder is a place where competitve players can practice and PLAY for something. Not to show off for the community.

merz, most op the top players are playing to show off or to "entertain the non-playing members of this community".they can get games vs other top gamers by simply asking... they dont need a ladder pretext.
im sure light didnt come on wgt for training purpose lol

Im sure light didnt come to get his replays downloaded which usually are only available through VOD's too.

Light came cause it's literally fun to bash the fuck out of everyone and play a ladder, still not to entertain you or anyone else. And who knows playing foreigners might be fun for him as he only plays Koreans most of the time.

there are plenty of replay sites and replay resources available -- ygclan, gosugamers, sc.replays.net all have plenty of regular reps. quit bitching, if a player wants control of hi replay, that's certainly reasonable.

well if u knew how to read merz u would know that skew plays for his entertainment and a small group of friends...so theres no reason for him to complain about losing pts for replay restrict....

LOL, hes stupid? hahaha. This is the mouse eating the cat...

You want new players, I want new players BUT APPARENTLY(sp?) HE DOESN'T WANT / HE DOESN'T CARE / HE DOESN'T WANNA USE HIS REPS TO BRING NEW PLAYERS. HIS REPLAYS NOT OUR REPS. Lets just play 10 hours a day to be good and help the bw community, mmm ok?

PS: I love players such as midian, nony/other that I don't remember that uploaded reps packs, FPVods, posted in the strategy forum etc. But I don't have the right to criticize the ones that don't do that, simply because 99% of bw players aren't payed to play this game. 100 more people playing BW because they can see Skews reps(I doubt your theory, but..) won't change that.

PPS: I really doubt your theory about "more replays more players". Btw, you'll find better replays in sites such as ygclan.com, sc.replays.net than ladder reps in WGT.

I think the WGT rules are fine.

-10% for restricting replays seems fine.

All they need is an anti-hack and they are set.

Its obvious.
Replay restrict will be better for the few good players and worse for everyone else. Thats my oppinion... Im not bitching, Im saying i dont like it... you are bitching with me though, writing in capslock etc, childish.

The reason i called him stupid was that he read a few lines in what i had to say and critizised me for that..

The replay restrict will be worse for me since i wanna start play zerg and download replays with zvp from favourite players. And i think most players liked the fact that they could download replays from WGT.

and hey, dont say something like "i dont care if its worse for u" coz i dont care if you dont care.. see my point?

Merz is it really so greedy to want to be able to dl reps of good players? Like i said before if the player is only playing to practice, why would he care about the 10% penalty? Noone is asking for the replay restriction option be removed, but a 10% penalty is fair for all parts.

Also the success of pgt as opposed to wgt is in the eye of the beholder I guess, I mean pgt was a ladder with the top 150 being korean smurfs, successful for sure but imho wgt is greater for the community the way it is. What wouldn't you give to be able to dl all of those pgt reps btw?

I don't really care whether the players restrict their replays or not. Its really up to them whether they want to or not. I agree with CultureMisfits, most players don't restrict their replays.

10- is fine for restricting replays, and sometimes people like to keep it semi-private so as to keep builds and such secret. Anoth3rDay you're making a bigger deal out of this than it needs to be. Like CultureMisfits said, there are plenty of other players that don't restrict and many players that do (I know a couple) are happy to give you reps if you are polite and don't release them.

In the end it's their choice. You have no right to decide whether they can keep it confidential or not. Most good players have access to other skilled gamers so they could just confine themselves to playing them, or they could bring activity to a ladder by playing it. -_- Stop acting as if you're entitled to them.
