I think its pretty easy to switch from sc style to war3 but I bet its a lot harder to switch to sc from war 3 style...

anyway replay analyzors were correct. it's actually easy to find out who they are by replays. in fact, one of the guy i played yesterday was on smurf acc, but i found out easily by looking at the replay. He was on top 30 wgt but played me with 0-0-0 acc and left without saying GG

I think Control and Darki should have a showmatch to see who's better, on that topic. Seeing as though they keep butting heads and one obviously thinks they're better than the other.. It's so nice that so many koreans play. This morning I checked the WGT ladder, top 10 were Koreans. That is nice. Few ours later, as daylight hit the foreign scene, other top players from different countries recovered what they lost during the night.
Is is quite promising that koreans are already here. I just hope WGT gets some gosu sponsors...

1 - Like mentioned above - this is still a *beta* season, we are aware of every single bug (there are quite many, yet the ladder is still very playable) and every single bug will be fixed for season 14 + we will move to a new server to make gaming even more enjoyable. The restric replays feature will work like it should be - nobody will be able to download the replays from either player game list.

Ok I got some of MistrZZZ's and Skew's replays from other people's accounts, so it works for now.
Also, DeadVessel, there were 1.14 hacks that worked on 1.15 from day1. There's nothing to "break through". There's no antihack system. Or if it is, it's hella bad. Drop hacks, map hacks, all work.

Actually it was that game that made me realize he might be hacking. He didn't play well at all actually. All he did in that game was attack perfectly at the right positions without even having a obs or scouting there.
Terran had to run back and forth for like 25 minutes because he saw exactly where to attack. One interesting thing in that game also is that TheMooN storms out of view, just like he "saw" something he could possibly not see :p

You'll scout the last 2 nats at the same time while on 13 psi. If you don't see a hatch morphing then forge. Only safe way.

What are those hacks that worked with pp at same time ?
i tested alot of maphacks(what i find over few sites) for 1.14 and u could load few but after few seconds sc would crash so...
all those hacks that needed dll injection didnt work on penguin plug cuz pp could crash them easily
at least i heard that on bwprogammers forum/ hackers site forums ..
ashur told that he made hack that worked with pp at same time,but he didnt released it for public..
i was happy to play guy who used bwl pp cuz i was convinced that those maphacks didnt work,dunno maybe i was wrong ...

well say a hacker restricts his replays and plays a game, and his opponent is suspicious based on the hacker's play, he can still save the game, upload it, and make his case in the abuse forum

all the games autosave into the leagues folder that u had to download to play wgt
Program Files -> Starcraft -> Leagues -> Wgtour and u will find every single league game replay that u ever played....there are just numbered tho so u would just have to search for the replay of the right player

a) Progamers MOST LIKELY will NOT play WGT for practice. They'll just play it for shits and giggles, probably offracing and fucking around (and still dominating) ... who cares if people watch these games, it's not as if they're trying out super-secret builds that they are scared people will find. Secondly, who the hell will go and search WGT reps for these pros and be like "muwahahahaha I found their super-secret build ... now I'll go sell it on the black market for big $$$" nobody would do that.
b) And let's also be serious here... the WCG maps are old, the builds and strats for them are old.. it's not as if some new innovative builds are being discovered and practiced to worry about hiding... everybody has already seen every build in every mu for these WCG maps... so what is there really to "restrict" ... and again, who is gonna go DL these reps and be like "muwaahahah now I know your playstyle!!!" ... all the top players play each other a lot, and know their play styles already, so it's not as if there is going to be some big secret.

The hell are you talking about? WGT has the option to restrict replays, if you're going to bitch, bitch at WGT. Players can make their own choices about the games they play and the replays they release. Just because someone like Skew is playing on a public ladder doesn't mean he owes shit to the community to have his replays release.

Also, someone said that hiding reps has no purpose... well, if i remember correctly, boxer lost a wcg game to a newbie that lost the rest of his games and had only 1 win, the one vs boxer. he only beat him because he studied boxers reps to the smallest details and was able to find a hole in his gameplay and take advantage of that.
If i was the WCG representative for my country and i played WGT, I'd sure as fuck hide my reps rather than risk some newbie stealing my ticket for a free trip to a supercool foreign country.

Wgtour having so many replays is great for the community! Now people won't have to go through heaven and hell to get reps of good players anymore. There's one new rep a day on GG.net and 1 new rep a month at TL, so its hard finding fun reps of the best non-koreans nowadays. And yes its your right to restrict reps, still i think the 10% penalty is the best option, keeps those who don't really care from restricting, but still attracts korean pros because they can avoid showing their reps.

Entertaining for whom? You or the players? afaik, on the front page rankings, there were only two players off the top of my head that decided to restrict replays: Skew and DAy. I would say your entertainment as a viewer is hardly suffering by not being able to watch replays of two American players.

You enforce something like mandatory replay upload and I guarantee you that more players will pull a Keke, play for a few weeks then reset or simply not play at all. Those who wish to restrict their replays already suffer point penalty, which suffice to say, is a punishment in its own. The key thing is putting an option there for the players: upload reps or restrict with a penalty.
Lastly, you're right, this is a public ladder. Frankly to say, it should cater more to the actual players who do ladder, than those who just want to spectate.

About reps, it is the players right to release or not release them, and he doesnt owe anybody anything. Many good players release all of their reps at the end of the season anyways, so wait for those.
I would like to have matchlists public though, as it makes it easier to spot abusers.

It isn't really Skew, seeing as you are playing on a free server payed for by other people's money. This is a service provided by wgtour, and if you don't like it , well, you just lost the best place currently to practice all your strats for wgt. And logicly if its only for practice, why would you care about having to play 1 extra game for every ten you play to match others in points?
And i'd also like to add that while this is a minor inconvenience for you, its a huge joy to thousands of other bw-players who just likes to watch reps, alone or with friends. People can appreciate watching your and everyone elses games without being spies or crazy fans.

I think the penalty is quite fair. The people who want their reps restricted (probably for weird practice reasons or whatever...) probably should care about losing 10% of their points since they are playing for practice rather than acheiving a pretty looking rank.... right? So following that train of thought, the penalty is fine how it is.
One of the great features of WGT is that thousands of reps become available that were not available before, it has been a defining aspect of the WGT ladder since its inception, and the WGT admins wanted to keep it this way, and allow "freedom of information" basically.
So people who want to restrict that will have to suffer a small, and reasonable penalty.

There will be a working anti-hack ready for season 14, if you are suspicious of someone you can still ask admins to check him, administrators have access to restricted replays and everyone has access to matchlist and game info - in other words, no real abuse is possible.

Its every players decision if they want to restrict their replays or not. PGT didn't even use replays at all and that was the most popular ladder so far (taking in mind WGT just went for a beta season, im sure they'll outclass PGT as soon as real season starts)
You know what, if you want WGT to succeed as much as PGT did, let them have restricted replays. Because theres no friggin way koreans will be allowed / tempted to play on a ladder where people can download their replays.

Light came cause it's literally fun to bash the fuck out of everyone and play a ladder, still not to entertain you or anyone else. And who knows playing foreigners might be fun for him as he only plays Koreans most of the time.

there are plenty of replay sites and replay resources available -- ygclan, gosugamers, sc.replays.net all have plenty of regular reps. quit bitching, if a player wants control of hi replay, that's certainly reasonable.

PPS: I really doubt your theory about "more replays more players". Btw, you'll find better replays in sites such as ygclan.com, sc.replays.net than ladder reps in WGT.

Also the success of pgt as opposed to wgt is in the eye of the beholder I guess, I mean pgt was a ladder with the top 150 being korean smurfs, successful for sure but imho wgt is greater for the community the way it is. What wouldn't you give to be able to dl all of those pgt reps btw?

10- is fine for restricting replays, and sometimes people like to keep it semi-private so as to keep builds and such secret. Anoth3rDay you're making a bigger deal out of this than it needs to be. Like CultureMisfits said, there are plenty of other players that don't restrict and many players that do (I know a couple) are happy to give you reps if you are polite and don't release them.
In the end it's their choice. You have no right to decide whether they can keep it confidential or not. Most good players have access to other skilled gamers so they could just confine themselves to playing them, or they could bring activity to a ladder by playing it. -_- Stop acting as if you're entitled to them.

It's not greedy as long as you only put it that way. But when people start flaming the players and the system just cause they claim they have right to watch em, things start going bad.
And to answer the last question, I sure as hell wouldn't trade PGT's success for accessing all those replays. And you forget to think about if the reps were made public, maybe there wouldn't be "all those reps" to download hence koreans would be scared off.
One question though, why do you think PGT had top150 filled with korean smurfs? And yeah sure it's greater for the community, but if the players choose not to play just because of it, will there even be a community in the long run?
And something I'd like to make clear:
I did not know players were complaining about the -10% pts restriction. That's reasonable from wgtours side imo. You restrict your replays, while others expose them, of course ther has to be some "downside" with restricting them.

2) Even with new server... WGT won't start until bugs are fixed, so it doesn't matter about the server, but by the time bugs are fixed, new server will be up and running.

you seem to believe that its the community's right to download every practice game replay played on a ladder. this is simply not the case. as CTStalker said, there are plenty of sources to learn from, whether it be YGClan or YaoYuan or the many replay packs made by good players here.
yes many players liked the replay feature from WGT but again, there's no rule or contract stating that replays should be public. i don't know why you see that as some sort of injustice, that a top player would not want his practice games released. they are the player's games and it is WGT's decision to include the replay-restrict feature.
you seem to believe you're entitled to all replays because somehow it will "make the community worse" by having replay restrict even though this is completely not the case, and then you flame and call people stupid for disagreeing with you when you're the one making illogical assumptions.
if you don't like replay restrict, PM skew or the WGT organizers and ask nicely, if that doesn't work simply don't play WGT. there is nothing else you can really do. skew and WGT don't "owe" the you or the community replays or anything for that matter.

I think the system is actually a really good idea and to be honest I really like it and think it's fine.
Players shouldn't really complain about a -10% for restricting, and people shouldn't really complain about players restricting. (Unless they're all doing it), then it's just a bit silly).
I don't intend to restrict my own replays if I start playing when I get home, but I can understand why some people would. For instance, Americans may have American WCG coming up. And despite what they say, it's obvious many of them really want to win it. But if I were to practice for WCG using WGTour, I might restrict.

the penalty still has no point. folks, like me, who use it for warmup and practice want to use their usual builds, but don't want them available to onlookers. why on earth should i take a 10% penalty for that? the only thing it does is make me feel negatively towards wgtour. no one's going to get the replays because of it.
if you really want replays from someone, just ask. you don't have to be a dick about it and give them a bad time for it on a forum. i can tell you that there is no player in the bw scene that wouldn't be happy someone is asking them for replays (even if they deny it because they think they already get too many requests).
on top of that, we're going to lose koreans for it. you can say we wont, but we will. i know that the way i feel about my replays is a fraction of what korean amateurs and pros feel about their own. i know why certain posters at ygclan have only 1 arm and 4 toes on their feet.
anyways, no one that makes these decisions is probably paying attention to this thread, so ill have to find that extra 5 minutes a day to make up that fucking wasteful 10% loss. son of a bitch =(

Restricting replays is fine.
The -10% loss for it is also fine.
Seems great and really enjoyable.
It definitely won't deter koreans.
It won't make finding a game harder.
Come WCG time, it gives players a chance to hide builds yet still mass-game.
It's a really great idea. And 10% seems very fair.

10% deduction is a bitch, i experienced it during the beta season where i played 1+ rank always but would get the same amount of points as if i played a player with the same rank as me, you rank up so slowly that it really isnt worth restricting ur reps if ur in it to be "seen", however if its wcg practice ofc restricting reps is understandable

I think both isnt the best idea, but that restrict thing and the ( - 10 % ) is like the best way ever to solve this issue. Good enough players wont mind that they have 200 points less after 20 games and bad players dont care that someones gonna see their replays.

In addition, LibertyTerran is banned for a week for flaming WGT like an idiot. TL and WGT go way, way back, and flaming people who vollunteer to run one of the largest, oldest, and best BW sites on earth is a sure ticket to disneyland. The debate about rep availibility is fine (although ideally would be made in another thread) but flaming people when you have ZERO knowledge about what it takes to run something like that is nothx.
For the record this is his second ban for flaming WGT. The other time was when he told the lead admin to "stfu".
