In Brood War if PvP matches go long enough you see Zealots, Dragoons, DTs, Archons, HTs, Reavers... like, almost all the ground units. So what exactly is he talking about? I mean, SC2 has a shit ton of units so no duh you'll see more units in play. Does he just mean there are more strategies you can go? Ie it isn't always a goon fest early on like it is in BW?

Rush was being silly going for SCV pull. I think he got more chance on normal game judging from his goliath micro to take out carriers, but still Stork is carrier god. Free played so perfect vs. Miso(Where), it didn't even look fair. But at winners game Stork crushed Free, what a monster! Then Rush outplayed Where and crushed Free who made a mistake by not recalling, trying to break out a walled with depo, turrets + bunker location isn't an easy task. Rush was impressive today!

Also stop Artosis fixing Rapid, he was right about that Stork vs. Flash game on Destination, not vs. Jeadong like you said. I don't think free played good vs Miso. Free is just leagues ahead of Miso in terms of macro and probably everything else. To be fair, he played really sloppy all game. He basically sacrificed tons of zealots and just played sauron protoss until the end while Miso failed to morph a single lurker and instead played hydra only against zealot/archon... On December 06 2016 23:07 ortseam wrote: Guess i underestimated Stork, the guy was getting in Starleague finals while playing wow. I think Jaedong has a rather easy group, he should advance. For hero I don't know. How is he doing as of late? Because he kind of played quite bad at the time of the last ASL, especially again terran which is his weakness. If this still is the case, even Iris can be dangerous for him.

The problem I have with Artosis right now is that he seems to think he still knows everything but he actually forgot almost everything. That leads to the problem that he doesn't even try to acquire the knowledge he needs to let his analytical style cast work. I don't think BisuDagger is too knowledgable, but he is leagues ahead of Artosis right now. And he works on himself, which is the most important thing. I like his casts because they are passionate, entertaining and you can see improvement.

You can keep your precious BW boys club intact if you want to. I don't really know why you get so angry, but you should think of the complaints voiced here more to improve the cast, because everyone who played or even just watched some BW streams for a couple of hours in the last months would see, that they apparently don't even know what the most standard opening in ZvP is right now (and also has been during in the final pro BW days) for example which is 3 Hatch spire into 5 Hatch vs Forge Fast Expand with the 3rd Hatch being build either at the next gas base or the closest 3rd base location. We saw that in every PvZ on Benzene and the casters were surprised every time and wondering why P send the first zealots to the 3rd even when they hadn't scouted it. Their audience is mainly non-BW players so this is actually not really a drawback for their cast because no one there knows, that a lot of the things they say are not correct, but wouldn't it improve the cast, if they had at least some basic knowledge and would some more correct calls? Neither English cast has really good strategic knowledge, but Bisudagger and Co. atleast know the bare basics in the matchups they play themselves.

Gonna tune in to hear Bisudagger and Flashftw (?) next time though to get a chance to catch the more hardcore BW casting. ![]() Seriously, since I started following ASL again it feels like I'm walking on clouds. It feels like the old pro BW is coming back and I'm so profoundly happy about it. Now if Jaedong could somehow advance to the finals and win this, I will be once again a child on Christmas morning. A child who is simply happy to be at that exact moment when everything makes sense, and all is right with the world.

Tastosis literally said during the last season of ASL and I'm quoting "we are going to be learning and relearning right alongside you all, we'll be holding hands during these casts." What planet do you live on? I live on a planet where I expect a decent degree of competence from someone who is making it clear that he was deep in the golden age of Korean Brood War. The comparisons with SC2 isn't even an issue if done correctly, the issue is Artosis is doing his job like the SC1 commentator equivalent of Reggie Miller. To be quote honest, I actually think Rapid is better than Artosis is right now. He can be funny, has shown progress over the last season and doesn't have pre-existing conceptions of the game and players. He even did pretty well casting by himself. Artosis' problem right now is that he's a homer commentator fluffing older players or players with some degree of achievement, hasn't remembered old standard builds and players nor kept up with current trends yet sort of props himself up as a figure of authority, and misses important cues and moves. If you're "going to be learning and relearning right alongside you all", you should probably cast like Rapid or GOM-era Tasteless.

What I mainly dislike about their cast is especially the many SC2 references ( even though it's a bit toned down compared to the first season of ASL). Some are fine, especially if they talk about Rain, Soulkey and other players who also became succesful in SC2. Mostly when people say they dislike Artosis for his game knowledge I can't follow, because as said before I was never that big into broodwar until last year. But I can understand this. I think though, that we should cut Rapid some slack. Yes he followed BW once, but we don't know if he has ever since. Also he is not contracted to Afreeca to cast ASL. He is just subbing in for Tasteless. Artosis on the other hand should be better. Considering he was a pro for many years. I think this duo works well, but could work even better if Rapid had someone casting with him who has deep game knowledge, because he can easily do color commentary. That he knows the game at all and trivia/history about players became obvious the last broadcasts. I think though that Tasteless will be more up to date with the meta and game than Artosis so I'm looking forward to their cast ![]()

I just hope, considering that you could physically feel his passion for BW last ASL, that he put a lot of work into following BW more and learning more about the current meta. I think though that Tasteless will be more up to date with the meta and game than Artosis so I'm looking forward to their cast ![]() I like your attitude. ![]() Wait, Tasteless was know for his deep knowledge about brood war wasn't he?

![]() If you like 'em, listen to 'em. If you don't, there's these two others guys named BisuDagger and FlashFTW who are pretty good (though those two need to equalize their mic levels... FlashFTW is consistently waaay louder). Guess what I'm sayin' is, isn't it nice to have choices? ![]()

I just said he wasn't known for his game knowledge in BW. Those two are not the same.
