I understand everyone and their mothers are hoping for a ZerO vs Jangbi rematch in the SSL9, but considering that both of them are already playing in the GOMTV Classics Season 4, I would not mind a few Terrans advancing, just for the sake of variety. Plus, Mong has been playing extremely well recently and probably deserves the most to advance from this group.
Well-timed! Mong is one of the few Terrans I must root for in this day and age, and the fact that he knocked out Killer 3-3 is the reason he MUST advance.
On the other hand the Ro8 is a bit low on Zergs, so lets hope the other advancee from the Ro32 group of death also braves out. ZerO won't be able to avoid Terrans so easily here. But eyes are on him and his little terran accomplice to make Killer's sacrifice worth it.
mong needs to not do 3 cc off 1 factory bs. sniper ridge game was wonky but seriously, the circuit breaker rax expo into 1 tank into double vulture would literally die to anything. too meta for me
I only got to watch these now. Tyson vs Mong, in maybe the last game in the best of 3 from memory, had some pretty funny and terrible mistakes. I wish ZerO could have gone through with Fishiking.
ZerO games, ha, yeah. See? 3 hatch lurker with +1 carapace and it still doesn't achieve much. T_T I feel like going for a small number of queens with Ensnare and would have worked better with the continual carapace over infantry weapon upgrade advantage he (mostly) had as opposed to Dark Swarm. Queen's Nest+Ensnare = 60+80 = 140 game seconds, Queens with 75 energy arrive 83.75 (50+33.75) game seconds after the Nest finishes if you start them immediately, so basically when Ensnare finishes. Queen's Nest+Hive+Defiler Mound+Consume = 60+120+60+100 = 340 game seconds.
Marines can just run from lurkers under Swarm, lings without the lurkers die to the marines with medics and stim. If you run out of the swarm with lings and lurkers, no benefit has been gained except that you may have pushed them back a bit and if you realise you are in too much danger out of the swarm, you can retreat to it for safety. Ensnare on the other hand essentially removes the effects of stim packs so that you can chase with lings and lurkers if you have enough and means that if you back off and you chase but then decide you shouldn't keep fighting, while you have no swarm to run to, they deal damage much less quickly and cannot chase you so well...and you probably have a larger army because ensnare kept more of your units alive before you would have been able to use swarm.
It just seemed a more natural transition when he was getting the Queen's Nest and then the Queen Zerg didn't go for that. I was disappointed.
i might be remembering wrong but i seem to recall zero got an easy matchup with britney in first round and then defeated killer in a crappy short winners game, while killer was busy having many epic games against mong. was annoyed to see zero advance in the first place
Not ZerO's fault that it was a best of 1 with Killer and he did just outplay him. He did just get an easy round with Britney though, but then he also is worst against terran and just got two of the best in his group (although all the best terrans are basically those in RO16+Light+Sea and maybe Mind) and the terran he dodged in Ro32 was one of those same terrans. Maybe had he played vs Mong and Killer vs Britney, we'd have had Mong>ZerO & Killer>Britney then Mong vs Killer (but only Bo1 here) & ZerO>Britney then say Mong goes through, another best of 1 and ZerO>Killer. So Killer going through probably would then have relied on beating Mong in a Bo1. Had Mong Killer lost, maybe you'd want to say it was lame that he only got a Bo1 with Mong? *Shrug* Killer could easily have gotten knocked out either way.
Oh, I'm not saying it is his fault, it's definitely not. It's just that he didn't show anything in the previous round. Sure it's killer's fault for losing that crappy game. But with all the great games he and Mong provided, I really would have liked to see those two advance. ZerO enterd and exited SSL9 without providing any entertainment
