For those looking for an English stream check our the wonderful Sayle for an entertaining cast. For those looking for the full Korean experience with Lee Seung Won, Kim Carry and Sonic check out the Korean rebroadcasts. Special thanks to our restreamers <3<3<3
Format First two series are Bo3 fought on Mist*, Neo Electric Circuit and Fighting Spirit. Followed by the winners' and losers' match which are Bo1, played on Circuit Breaker. Then a final match that's a Bo1**, map not specified yet *Mist exhibited some problems on the first day with mineral patches disappearing and was removed promptly. No idea if it's been fixed. **Sonic released a post recently stating the last match to be Bo1, probably because of the long broadcast time + Show Spoiler [Full Results] +
Swore I'd never do these middle of the day starcraft sessions anymore, but after watching the first one, I realised how much I missed them. Hope there will be more fangirls, probably once the old bonjwae start playing again. Expecting some for group H. Or there might be rows and rows of ajuma throwing tiger print size waytoolarge at them... It's been a while.
Re-streaming in English is a bit modern though, will be going full Korean.
sick OP yeah :D very nice. Sky could've had a chance if this was half a year ago, but his play looks really unpracticed and sloppy now so I am assuming it will be Hiya and Piano. (although TvT gives Midas some chances)

you realize its an offline event right, as in viewers have to go out to sonic's studio in the middle of winter(its fucking cold in korea right now) and the event starts a bit late anyway(1900KST) and goes all the way to midnight and theres still a chance that it go longer considering the number of TvTs today.
sonic made the right call, it should have been Bo1 all around if you ask me.

Who cares about what the Koreans have to go through, we must be getting everything luxuriously handed to us. Matter of fact, Koreans should play at 6am and Sonic should learn English so we can watch it at a decent time and understand what they're saying.
Regardless of the things said by the guy above me HYDE still makes the best live report thread that bad ass photoshop skill XD . My prediction would be Sky and either Hiya or Piano to be making out of this group today.
Kekekee... Commentators talking about how good the FIX earphones are. Kim Carrier already said last time that he uses them all the time, the other guy (what's his name? not Sonic) was just saying that he also got to try them, and went on and on about how good the sound is...
Sonic really selling himself here, but what the heck, it's for the Glory of Brood War...
Looks like someone's mom is in the audience. Seriously, nothing is missing anymore from the starleagues we used to have. Sonic brought everything back.

Blindy offered a choice of lr or death, so I choose post count spam. Sick intro video, but that last game was 1 star. No cheese, and his failcall wasn't even jaehoon bad.
Damn I wish I could visit that studio. I've been to the Ongamenet studio, and both MBC Game studios, as well as one of Bisu's finals. Was in SK in December and kept waiting for some event at the new SonicTV place but there was nothing.
Sorry, didn't quite catch all of Piano's interview, but he clearly wanted to get it over with as fast as possible. Also that question about the builds is stupid. Clearly they're not gonna reveal anything before the game.

Same thoughts. :D Though the gg-timing still was a bit weird. Bunker terran can do a lot. However mist seems to be much in disfavor of turtle play. Seems really interesting.
//Seems like Piano is ill and doesn't want to play dragged out games. Understandable.
So that FIX earphones retails at only 20 bucks for that design, non-tangle cord, mic controller & android compatibility. Will try to get that from ebay

before you do that it might be worth finding out if it helps the league in anyway. maybe it only helps if u get them through the gameangel platform or whatever it is.. aka hworks not really making the earphones but just selling them in one way.
Interviewer: In this last game you got cloaking first, and your opponent couldn't do anything against it. Did you know then that you had won?
Piano: Yes, it went as prepared. I was lucky.
Interviewer: Oh, so this was the build you prepared?
Piano: Yes, it had been prepared.
Interviewer: And going forward?
Piano: Well, I'm a vs. Protoss player. I'd better not meet Zergs.
(at the end Piano asks to say something)
I've been a programer for 8 years, and during this time I was also in the military and missed my mom, so I want to take this opportunity to tell her now: "I love you mom", because I've never told her this before although she is very supportive. She might not be able to see this because she's working now.
Interviewer: It was a nice statement and I hope your mom sees it. I hope you will forget all over your hardships with this victory.

Sonic just loves this game too much, that's why he has to have so many of them. Slowly we'll get to bo1 for everything, slowly. For group stages I mean
Can't believe how epic the first two groups were. Hiya overcame his cheesy nemesis (they mentioned that Sky had eliminated him in a previous SSL), and Mong overcame the top Zerg to advance. Both victories were so hard fought, and so awesome to watch...
I can't believe I won't be able to see Midas live again ...at least until the next SSL. I was very impressed by his performance today so I am not too upset, he produced very entertaining games.

Midas said himself that he wasn't 100% confident in his gameplay. Today's games showed that he still have the chops to at least hang on vs Piano, a guy that practices at progaming level. So I'm certain that he can only improve from now on.

Having a pair and doing risky/entertaining stuff is being a scumbag now? Rofl, non-protoss races are pussy races, just saying Sky is really a scumbag though.
Well, I have to say if I'd just looked at Midas today as he were any other Terran I'd have ranted and complained about such a lackluster showing -- but thinking how he only had a few weeks to get back into his game I have to say he did a lot better than I'm allowed to expect. It must have been quite a challenge which I for sure hope he enjoyed a lot.
Great casting by Sayle as always! Love the enthusiasm Games were better than I thought. That last Hiya vs Sky game was really good. Would've been better if Sky wasn't so dead set on trying to take down Hiya's 4th and losing so many units. Sky taking out Midas was a bit unexpected but I think Midas didn't do as much harass or anywhere near the amount Hiya did which is what Sky seems to have problems with. Either way, glad to see PianO and Hiya advance

haha ya, that was one of the biggest highlights of the games lol.
edit: wasn't there a similar death recall in a pro game? I remember seeing a gif for it as well.

Sky was in great position after the successful second reaver drop. But he couldn't figure out how to finish it. I think that's why he was focusing on 6 so much early on, he was trying to press his advantage because he didn't want to happen what ended up happening...
hi, nice to have bw again , maybe someone can tell me where can i see the vods , of the entire ceremony, i want to see when Kim come's back to bw, im searching that but cant find T_T,

Here you can find most complete series one or a couple days after they're played. Kim Carrier has been casting for some time now, can't say when his first game was...

How? He walked into Sonic's studio, sat down, and talked about Brood War.
Why? Because he loves the game.
As for the "disorder" VODs, I dunno what's so hard to find them. Just go to the SSL LR threads, and there's a link to VODs right there...
There you go, starting from Group A to Group B. If you want the Korean broadcast, just click on the links that DON'T say "Sayle's English rebroadcast". If you want the English broadcast, click on the links that DO say "Sayle's English rebroadcast".

I do believe that you are leaving some deds there and there such as sharing a drink of Soju or two and also showing Sonic of some Carrier micro videos.
And the importance of not the skill, but the mentality!
Edit: The reference in that is Kim Carrier kept mentioning that it's not a matter of who's the better player but who can stay calm during situations during Group B.
Just watched this series. WTF is with Sky's mass dragoon style in PvT? I can't see how it's a beneficial unit composition. The only thing I can come up with is that it allows for better map control through mine sweeping, but even then he didn't seem to do a good job at them. As a protoss player, watching mass dragoons die to tank just make me sad.

Yea, he did seem really goon heavy.
I can never make this work when the tank count gets high, but its actually glorious against say 4 or 5 fact timing attacks assuming you can spread your goons well for low splash.
With the big armies its just too much splash, and I don't really think anyone can keep track of that many goons at once, not to mention at maxed sizes there often isn't even room for a great spread.

I've never been a good enough player to pretend I know how it would be for me to do it. But I'm pretty sure I've never seen anyone try this at the top level. The results were just as you expected. After the initial army trading, you're left with goons vs. tanks, which has never ended well for protoss in late game PvT.
Very enyojable play fom Sky, too bad he didn't make through! Better the next time! Maaaann he has to learn middle-late game and than he will be a very good player! Cheese play vs Hiya was great!
I'm late to the party and slowly catching up on SSL9 and SPL, but I really enjoyed all of these matches. Even Sky is entertaining in his own, strange way. Nice to see BW kicking.
