FA, that's an understatement.
To a progamer A+ is a piece of cake. Excelling at A+ as well is a piece of cake.
Trust me. There are a LOT of newbies who get A+. Progamers are far above them.
You only have a few pros play it seriously at a time each season. And those pros are the ones who dominate the ladder. Then they play eachother, or get bored and give their name to someone else. Or share their id's with crappier friends. Most others are amateurs or semi-pros. And usually the higher semi-pros would seriously tear it up as well. But a good number of amateurs = A+. Fairly easily. all semi-pros = A+ for a certainty. Though the worst of them may have shit stats. Though as Jamie pointed out to me seems like the number of good people are running thinner and a lot more newbies are making semi-pro these days. All pros = A+ easily and would excel exceedingly at the ladder unless they bashed eachother a lot in many games. Ie: Canata vs Byul or Jang vs Firefist or some crazy shit.

I think you forgot what "newbie" really means, a newbie it's not just to be worse than progamers or Testie u know?
|
Testie has strange definitions of "good" and "newb".

Apparently all you people calling me a moron don't understand that he didn't join a fucking SC clan with which he DOESN'T GAME so he could LEARN ENGLISH. He's living in the United States to study, you think he's trying to learn English through starcraft? ROFL.
And it looks like testie has now changed his definition from "anything under A+ is trash" to "anything on PGT is trash." Your ego is massive, Testie, get over yourself.

His english is far from being fluent at the moment, so yes he joined to learn english mainly, to be able to talk with people who speaks english well. Why did i even have to repeat this, you are so nerdy yet incredibly stupid.

For the last time, when I say moron, I am refering to those who do NOT know what they are talking about (ie: he didn't join a fucking SC clan with which he DOESN'T GAME so he could LEARN ENGLISH)
-FT.aCt) used to have majority of koreans(when love joined) (how would you know?) -He does game with members (how would you know?) -He didn't join to learn english (how would you know?)
Please, if you don't know what you are talking about, don't comment.
As for testie's post about anything less than an A+ being no challenge to a pro gamer, this might be true for top pro gamers.
Love, however, is no where near his peak with a lack of practice, and is able to lose to lower ranking gamers.
Here is a current quote by FT.aCt)Love:
"I can beat everyone but I can also lose to everyone"
I think this is quite appropriate, especially at his current state.
Also, TL admins, why do you allow lack of manner in your forums?
I suggest you put forth a bit more effort to keep forums clean. I'd have much more respect for this website.

ofc love joined cause ft.act) is a really good team, come on guys cant believe u made an account just to respond to things bout him

Foreigners want to think the difference is smaller so that it appears they can compete to some degree. As an example it is a self-serving opinion to think that oG)JianG, who reached A+ is near the same level as a semi-professional toss or a top amateur toss in korea. Now, supposedly the top amateur players are running thin lately as so many are being upgraded. But regardless.
I'll be calling people by name here. So, my apologies. But accept it, you're not a top player.
OctZerg, as much as I love him, is no where near semi-pro level. Also reached A+. http://sc.gosugamers.net/database.php?id=693
Ptak? I know very little about him or his play. But considering he's never done anything big in the foreign scene, i'll assume he's not that great. http://sc.gosugamers.net/database.php?id=686
Oldy? Also A+. http://sc.gosugamers.net/database.php?sokord=oldy&country=&race=&cat=
Stym? Wasn't he A+? http://sc.gosugamers.net/database.php?sokord=stym&country=&race=&cat=
-> Normally <- A real progamer could 5-0 any of these players. Or 4-1 if some luck was involved. A top semi pro would 4-1 / 5-0 them as well.
The players up above are players that are considered sub-par by foreign standards. I think pro's do not nearly play PGT as much as you think and it's only a few big names that occasionally play, or use a friends account that make it seem that way.
And no, any A+ player is not a challenge for a progamer. Some are. Most aren't.
Players always confuse themselves by thinking they can play on a progamers level because they can achieve the same PGT rank as them. If a progamer like Ogogo has bad stats, it's usually because he prefers to play only the good A+ players and is dicking around a lot.
If say the players you don't see so much of on tl.net.. Festive, [oops]lee, freshen, etc.. they could dominate PGT extremely easily as well if they put the effort into it.
Reaching A+ doesn't mean you're that good. You aren't an A+ gamer. You can say you are, you can show people you are. But, you're really not.
Achieving A+ = Most amateur koreans fairly easily. Some top amateurs (or they used to be able to) could dominate PGT nicely. They may not now because many have moved on to semi-pro. Achieving A+ = Any semi-pro extremely easily. Dominating PGT with insane stats and standing out = top semi-pros. Lower ranked professional gamers like Festive = Dominate PGT with those nutty stats really standing out from other gamers. He was even playing vs some very good koreans when he got those stats. (Even though he kicks fucking ass I guess he's officially ranked as lower since he's not top 30 kespa, right?)
I only write this post because I think it's very insulting to a professional gamer to say, "eh, some pros may have a hard time achieving A+." No. They wouldn't. There's a gap. They would cut through the masses of PGT like a hot knife through butter.
|
Another thing is: Why do some of the koreans with bad stats play much better than foreigners with good stats? Koreans know when their very good friends are online. And play them often. They don't care if they go 40% win vs a friend. They will go nuts and play them 20 games in a row.
Foreign gamers want to stand out more so they will do more dodging and such. They tend to play a really good player 3-5 games in a row.
Draco stopped playing vs Sen / Strafe assuming it was a ToT zerg. Yes, he does fairly well against them. So maybe he just dislikes not knowing who he's against. But still, kinda stupid if you ask me. But after Dissy 2-0'd him on Strafe's name he no longer accepted games from Sen or Strafe.
Jiang refused my games on PGT. As well as many other foreigners.
When I played on Sens name one of the only guys who had balls to play me out of A+ foreigners was Satanik. I love that guy.

I agree.. but I'm not quite sure what point he is trying to prove.. althought a good post, I'm not seeing what that is going against -_-;

He is proveing that most of the top A+ foriengers are pussys, and dodge people to keep there decent records, except for satanik, who plays everyone to get better/have fun!

Yeah, I can see why players would join only because of this, but the team is becoming more accomplished and members are improving, as well as new members joining the team.
This is not the same FT.aCt) that Love joined. Nor is it the same FT.aCt) as 2 months + ago.
It has much since evolved and will hopefully continue to evolve. ^^;
