I'd love to see a macro game in Proleague, but you don't get them on Ohana. 14pool from Effort. Shy with a 17 nexus 17 forge (!), walling himself in completely so Effort doesn't kill him. Why don't Proleague zergs ever do the mass queen style?

It's not like snarfing your marines into sieged tanks back in 2010, where you're just an idiot to have engaged. There's no way to un-commit, so a single misstep can cost you the game. Of course, with 2k/2k banked, Hero[join] could've just built a bunch of cannons in a strategic place to buy himself time to remax, so that he could come back, the way Zerg build like 20 spine crawlers so they don't lose from a good position even if they lose all their Brood Lords. If Hero[join] had like 10-15 cannons to fall back to, he could've escaped the battle without much losses, with Flying have to either kill the cannons and let Hero's army escape, or run by them and maybe lose some Tripods. That's theorycraft out of me, obviously, but [join] had 2,000 minerals, so it was 15 cannons vs....not 15 cannons, so I don't see a real huge downside.... Cannons do nothing vs colossi/archon. In PvZ, spines only buy time vs stalkers (you HAVE to kill most of their colossi with corrupters if you decide to trade). If you trade your BLs and they still have 3+ colossi left, spines won't buy you much time. Zealots don't do much against Colossi/Archon either, but people make them to tank. Are cannons so bad that it's better to just have a 2k bank, when you're on 4 mining bases? Zealots are used to tank midgame, when both have 7+ collosi, they're litterally one shot and serve no purpose having them in the army. Cannons are just to deal with counter attacks/runbys/dts.

I really think (being honest here) if people started using carriers a bit more in PvP like I try to; it makes it a far more interesting matchup. Only the master of Special Tactics (The grandpa toss White-ra) pulls out carriers in PvP

Are cannons so bad that it's better to just have a 2k bank, when you're on 4 mining bases? Yea, zealots are used to tank in the big engagement so your colossi can get more shots off. And they are good if you trade your colossus/archon army for his army. Then you just warp in more zealots to take out his base while you rebuild your colossi/archon. 1) Even trade where both armies die - Zealot is better than cannons 2) Uneven trade where opponent still has multiple colossi/archon left - you lose with zealot OR cannons. So overall, you need to get an even trade anyways, so better to bank so you can warp in more zealots after army trade.

They're still not fully caught up in the current metagame that GSL and other SC2 players have already been messing around with. Proleague Zergs watch VoD's from not the current metagame. Which is why the games play out differently. Some of the builds they use (not openings but overall builds) are outdated to the rest of the experienced players. (GSL and the like)
