I made this LR thread 11 minutes after the games started. KeSPA tried to please everyone and they ended up pleasing no-one, really. They need to take some action, I think. At the very least, they need to update the SC2 map pool (it's all small-to-medium maps. Put Whirlwind in, take maybe Ohana out). I don't even know what they can do on the BW side at this point, though. It's only a few more weeks before KeSPA players have to face GSL players (Monday, if you count the show matches, but no one takes those that seriously). If they get trounced, I think that's almost it for Proleague. There's no way they can survive as a poor man's GSTL. I don't know if they could've saved it through BW somehow (maybe tried to renegotiate with Blizzard, who no longer really needs them), but the switch to SC2 is starting to turn into a disaster. The thing is, GSTL format is kind of retarded for a teamleague. I think the bigger sponsors (say, a KHAN-SKT-STX cabal) have the clout to impose a reasonable format on KeSPA, while I don't see the GSL gogogogo format working long-term. So what I'm really afraid of now is that the sponsors don't care and contracts will simply run out and then... who knows. yea. I dont like an ODT and all-kill format for a teamleague. For some reason, in SC2/Gom seems individual tournaments are given a much higher priority while BW/Ogn gives a higher importance to teams through Proleague. Im still not sure what will the consecuences of this will be, but establishing teams will be difficult if they are less important in competitions
It's gotten to the point where individual players are getting sponsorships, instead of teams. But a lot of SC2 stars made their names in the Team League back when it was treated seriously (MMA, DRG). I think it makes the scene less stable, honestly. Players can have off days more easily than whole teams can.

I don't really blame them for having to switch to sc2 (various reasons of sponsorship for bw drying up; everyone who bothers to show up in this thread knows those reasons lol) but it's pretty obvious everyone knew a mixed format would be shitty. But, I also refer to start of season 1 where they fan's pretty resounding results on fomos (wanting bo7, winners league etc) http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=275033as well as ignoring bo7 from progamers (though there is some concern for the amount of bo7s a week, they still wanted bo7. and some coaches wanted winner's league reduced, but not eliminated) http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=274673
KeSPA's always been kind of douchey, but they're not going to be able to get away with it now that they'll have real competition.

Shy going to wall off the back door with pylons Hive is morphing in Shuttle loving out for Shy towards the 11 oclock
Lurkers trying to sneak into the backdoor, but cannons ward them off Effort has no forces to clear off anything Zealots and a DT are going to get ferried into the mineral only of Effort Effort supply capped at 99/87 supply DT going to rape the mineral line in the main 5 drone kills I think
The drop gets cleaned up pretty well, only losing a few units, taking a bit of damage to the mineral only hatchery Shy adding a ton of gates, and robo is up Lurkers get cleared out of the mineral only backdoor
Pretty drop... should have focused the hatch though I think.
Also reavers please.
shy is playing really well ...
Defilers are in play now Shy looking to take a fourth at 3 oclock Cracklings try to counter, but zealots and a goon are there to defend +2 attack done for Shy 1-1 for melee, 1-0 for ranged zerg I think Forge spinning
A group of hydras going to die at 7 oclock, by Shy's main army Pretty indecisive, Effort oging for a big crackling counter at the 3 oclock Storm but it doesn't kill anything Three HT and one bad storm between them Lings eat through a few cannons, but Effort's force gets cleaned up
Did 7 oclock have a hatchery? Drones getting transferred, get killed off Huge plague on Shy's army Storm on the lings try Effort tries to surround the army with 7 oclock did have a hatch and it fell apparently o.o
Effotr going to run by into the mineral only Huge storm on the lings But three overlord drop into there too! Not enough cracklings to do anything
Poor drop by EffOrt, but keeping sHy distracted.
Lings try to run by yet again, but get killed 7 oclock going to get denied yet again +3 weapons for Shy 2-2 for melee Ultra Cavern is up
cow den is out for effort
Shy seems to be a step ahead of effort. Knew that drop was coming. Preempted the attack at his fourth. It's close, but he seems to be dictating play now.
Both players banking quite a few resources each Huge drop in the main of Shy Catching a ton of HT just warping in from Aiur Lings running into the mineral only too Towards the 7 oclock too! The army at 7 oclock gets destroyed, and the main drop finally gets cleaned up
Robotics support coming up, reavers to come ...assuming sHy survives the drops.
shy loses his army at the bottom left, effort defends his bottom 2 bases
Yet another drop into the main 0-1-3 for Shy's upgrades 7 oclock is finally taken Effort dropping yet again into the main The gates are getting crushed Shy is totally out of position
Huge drop and runby by effort doing some damage to Shy's infrastructure. Gates not powered. Shy back in his base. Another drop from effort damaging production again. Repulsed fairly easily. Complete reversal of roles, Shy on the defensive. Drop after drop from effort, Shy falling apart.
Templar Archives get sniped! Citadel gets sniped too! 7 oclock getting countered by Shy Effort finally has a lead in supply 144-136
