But Jangbi had so few probes so his army was still quite strong, not to mention he had storm tech, while zero still only had hydras after investing in the hydra bust.
While Jangbi Was very behind economically, I'm not sure the outcome of the last attack was SO surprising.
Yeah it's like when a zerg loses all their drones to storms drops or what not but wins it when they go for that last hydra break. In this case Jangbi's main was so saturated such that even after losing his natural nexus, he would have been even on workout count with zero. And what tipped things in his favour were a full tech tree and a very desirable unit composition against what Zero had. HydraLurk vs ZealotDragoonArchonTemplar + Obs.

The five matches between Jangbi and Zero encapsulated the very metanarrative of the entire PvZ history: from the Anytime's "sashin" style toss in set 1 to mass-hatchery style reminiscent of GGPlay in set 2, from two-gate hardcore build of Reach/mantoss in set 3 to the exciting defensive style of the dreamer Nal_Ra on set 5, and from mass storms epitomized by Jangbi himself to finally the unlikely and ultimate victory led by zertaul of protoss over the zerg -- it seems that in Broodwar, like in physiology, phylogeny recapitulates ontogeny.
Kim Carrier's tears is fully justified in the face of such sublime profundity and drama demonstrated in this final, glorious display of Broodwar.
Why do people think that using rare words for the sake of it is cool, I will always wonder.
Pity because the pompous shell apart, I really agree. I don't think the OSL last PvZ serie could have been any better.
Reading it again, it does sound "pompous" but it was not intended to be -- and I think the intent is what counts.
Are you kidding? There's nothing pompous about it. Although I didn't quite get the image you were trying to get at with the biology metaphors. It's certainly dramatizing for what is otherwise just a bunch of pixels moving across a screen but whatevs.
Well am I the only one that learned something from that post by using Google?
Nope, I just googled it myself, and the way I see it, it's wrong xD so funny, to ruin the punchline like this. ontogeny recapitulates phylogeny.

protoss fans are crazy
no, the crowd was cheering for Stork with the vuvuzelas
Hey guys, I have several friends who casually like watching both SC1 and SC2. I want to show them the match but won't be able to be there and explain why everything about this match is so amazing. To understand how awesome everything is, you really need to know a lot about the current situation with BW, Kim Carrier, the rivalry between players, etc. So how should I show them? I know both NuketheStars and Sayle have English commentaries, and the Korean commentary is interesting by itself. So in your opinion, which should I show my friends?

Korean documentary, and cast it yourself to them in words/terms they can understand.
Depends; if they are complete newbies to I'd indeed do my best to cast myself to explain what's going on. If they are somewhat knowledgeable, show the Sayle cast. If they know what it's all about, korean commentary is just a level above anything else (despite you not understanding shit).

He just said that he wasn't going to be there to explain.

You made sure you have a hype section with their last game right? If half the games of this series are nearly as good, this can be better than the Bigfile semis.
