Jaedong vs mini wasn't one-ninth as amazing as some of you led me to believe in this thread.

Jaedong went for a hydra bust, then won with mutalisks snipes and mass hydra, hydra, hydra. Really awesome. Basically, I just watched Shine play a ZvP, but because it's jaedong omg so amazing.

I'm not sure I agree with this, although sorta do. There is no damn way your keeping your templar alive against Muta like that. Unless you have corsairs. Which he didn't end up having. If you don't expect the muta or aren't prepared for them its hard to have the corsairs ready on time, so you move out and end up getting all your templar sniped off.

Jaehoon mistake, imo, was not making more corsairs when he realized muta were on the field. He also probably shouldn't have engaged once those templar were dead, though in several cases hyvaa flanked him perfectly and there was no retreat path. I really chalk this up more to good engagements from hyvaa than bad play from Jaehoon, though he should have kept making corsairs.

In most other ways Jaehoon outplayed hyvaa nicely, and had excellent early and mid game defense. He did everything MUCH better than hyvaa, except for the engagements, which he lost horrifically. This of course lost him the game. I'm just not convinced that those were primarily Jaehoon's fault, I think hyvaa just outplayed him in that aspect.

Just watched the game, Jaehoon should have went for 4 base turtle with Robo at each expos for mass reaver production (he has the ressource for them) and utilizing Zealots to delay any expos Zerg tries to take. Then after he feel 100% confident, grind the Zerg to dust. That was such a bad engagement by him, it was as if he didn't even try to control that army.

You're not giving hyvaa enough credit, the high ground lurkers forced Hoon into an area which suited hyvaa perfectly for the pincer. The mutas snipes also were well done in ensuring he didn't have any before the fights

Clearly you are too retarded to understand the high level of play required to come back from behind in that situation. Even more retarded for comparing JD to Shine.

I can't even believe that Jaehoon managed to lose that game. Who kills a million drones and loses the game?
This is probably close to failing against FBH.

Game 5, though containing some percent of fail from both players, is just what we like in SC. Lots of action anywhere at the same time.

well outlier's been designed for it, I suppose

Woah I left from home this morning upon seeing the Hoon with an up and coming 4th base and a scary army combination of Reavers and HTs. I left bitterly by gritting my teeth and murmuring "Protoss these days...". Someone can fill me in with what proceeded afterward?

hyvaa probably managed to hold on due to 2 things: very much effort applied by Hoon on the harass, not on army engagements, and the landscape of the map that gives zerg super-easy opportunity to surround and flank (plus high ground, from where he could easily muta-snipe anything he wanted).

On other map probably this would be GG for hyvaa, but this map helped him.

A truly good player is the one, who takes this into account while attacking/pushing, a truly good toss does not lose after killing >10 drones, successfully defending a backdoor and leveling pool & spire.
(Forgive me Jaehoon, but this is not the first time you do it. I'm still angry with you)

Only game I saw was Jaehoon vs hyvaa. Jaehoon's play is infuriating, sound strategically but the micro (or lack thereof) is simply horrific.

Are you sure you saw the whole game? His micro was amazing in the beginning of the game, but then he just fell apart, the micro as well as the decision making.

Really? That hydra counter with double hydra den when his third was being rushed was normal adaption? Jaedong had astounding decision making and his micro was the best I have seen from any zerg in a long time. (Hydras vs reavers, mutas vs hts, hydras vs storms) Comparing that with Shine, wtf man?
"To all eSports fans, I want to be remembered as a progamer who can make something out of nothing, and someone who always does his best. I think that is the right way of living, and I'm always doing my best to follow that." - Jaedong. /watch?v=jfghAzJqAp0

The only thing that could save Jaehoon after ht failure is turtling, even to the cost of letting hyvaa expanding. He still had 3 bases and could gain an army for the big push, but instead he kept on attacking front gates with dispersed groups, while hyvaa wisely kept on pumping hydras, eventually overproducing a slow protoss economy, well because its a zerg.
Jaehoon, no matter how skilled and spectacular was his play, should learn how to handle his fluctuating temper. This is what causes all this "enigma" mess in his games.

but how should he have attacked O_o if the map helps to turtle on small amount of bases, even if this is a zerg on 3 bases

okay, jaehoon would turtle -> zerg would take not 3 bases but 5, and zerg on >4 bases is terribly hard to stop (because defilers, swarm, plague, adrenalings)

what I'm telling is that a progamer should not lose to a zerg after "killing >10 drones with one dt, killing off pool, spire and defending a backdoor" unless you are Jaehoon.
The thing is the game-winning damage had been done up to that moment already, all he had to do is not to be in a hurry.

I was already thinking of a Jaehoon-themed banner for any of the next games when Jaehoon's DT killed like 20 drones.
But nooooooooooooo... I'm still very disappointed and sad and angry.

Maybe a Sea - Killer - Jaehoon fail themed banner. Joke. I really just want Team 8 to stand up to their talent and reputation.
Also, I mentioned this already in page 6, but I'm really sorry if the banner aroused some negative cultural feeling. That was never the intention.
