Gets bored, deviates from his normal build, gets greedy, loses.

This, and it's kind of frustrating to watch. Flash knows he will win with expo builds in mid-game or late game. The maps were balanced or slightly favored Terran. Why not just play to your biggest strength? I don't get it...

I just have to say it, this is the thoughts of a noob. -_-

You CANNOT play safe every game and win, terrans, hell any races, safe play can be exploited so fucking hard.

Flash 1 rax fast expo CC's for 5 months in a row.

Winrate before Effort during those 5 months is 20-7. If you take facing Jaedong out, he's 19-4.

Please tell me how 1 rax CC is exploitable??? It's not.

It's different in a best of 5 series and pretty much asking for it if, as you suggest, Flash goes 1 rax CC in every single game in the finals. Really nobody should even have to explain this as it's common sense, but whatever.

Yeah but the point was he was up 2-0.

yea but how about this - lets say you go for a risky cheese twice, it has 50% of failing 50% of succeeding.
That means that you have such a huge chance of taking this series since you have 3 games left to lose.

Flash was up 2-0, but he was playing standard in Game 3 and was overwhelmed by a few extra lings. In the previous game Effort went 3 hatch before pool and was ahead after successfully defending Flash's attack. Effort was reading him and countering appropriately. I don't know whether he had planned to do it beforehand, but in Game 4 it felt like Flash decided he was going to retake control of the series by mixing it up himself, and according to his interview Effort predicted it:

Q: You found Flash’s proxy barracks in set 4.
A: Honestly, I didn’t play a lot of BoX’s in my life so I didn’t have a completely idea of what to do. However, I realized a lot of things today. I won easily in set 3, so I felt that Flash would try something like that in set 4. This wasn’t what I had originally planned. I trusted my instincts and sent the Overlord straight to the middle of the map. I saw the center Barracks and thought “he fell into it".

So I don't think it was a bad decision in itself, it's just that Effort was ahead in the mind games.

Why use 50% chance builds when you're the better player and up 2-0?

And snowdrift, yeah he lost the mind games I just don't think he had to toss in mindgames in this series after that opening.

I feel that by arguing for this it will look like I'm making excuses etc.. so I'll stop. Effort won today because he did what he needed to do. Fair enough.
According to Reach, he is the fastest learner he has ever seen. He start bw only like 2/3 years ago. Infact, his bw history knowledge is so limited, he didn't even know what the map Guillotine was.

It was a pretty nice match to watch, did not expect Effort to come back the way he did. Ended up losing a RL bet because of it though. ; (

Really? Flash? You played like shit game 3, 4, and 5. WTF flash. Really? You don't deserve the golden mouse if you choose to suck all the sudden after winning 2 games.

Well Jaedong fully exploited 1rax CC... Three times in the MSL, because Flash was not at all prepared for it.

the first thing that came to mind in both of the 2 games that Flash won was "Jaedong could've pulled off a win here." If he doesn't do better than he did here, he has no chance. Especially since he's playing the Bo5 master.

Its still 72% Flash. He will rip it up in the future as well. The games with JD will be more epic because he has something to prove now. People are questioning him and JD, wondering if they still got what it takes. So now both of them have to bring S-class SC to the MSL and Oov dominant SC to the next OSL/MSL.

Don't think this won't hurt. I would cry if something like this happened to me. Humans are not emotionless machines, something like this can ruin you.

EffOrt got outplayed in the second game, but Jaedong would not have beaten Flash from the zerg position in game one. Not with his hydra tech deflected and his doom drop scouted.

Flash is a progamer, Jaedong is a progamer, and so is EffOrt. I was somewhat hoping that EffOrt winning would make all this "EffOrt is bad, EffOrt is not worthy of an OSL finals" nonsense go away, but apparently haters gotta hate, and will continue making ridiculous excuses, just as they did with the last MSL finals, and pretty much every Flash loss afterwords.

(T)Flash did not lose that final, (Z)EffOrt won it. There's a difference.

I just dont think flash played at his peak for 5 games. He did for 2....then effort played great and flash's play diminished. I feel Flash has done well enough to prove he's the best usually, but he just didnt come to play those last 3 games. I give effort all the credit in the world for bringing his A game, but what the hell Flash.
