I hate the desert tileset. Won't this map be hard for Zerg, considering they'll have to protect their main and expansion individually?

This map looks hella fun. The middle part is quite unique, i like it alot. But, just like with any map really, it seems to terran oriented. The expansions in the middle can all be reached by tanks, and zerg will get completely run over, imo.

From my information, they will select 2 out of the 4 maps used in the pre-matches and use them in the next OSL (Gillette).

i love the look of first two maps
o and i dont think the desert map is anti-zerg i mean think of this, any race will have to put their shit on there by islands. now a zerg has a SERIOUS advantage in that they can abuse that middle ground with guards etc AND early game they will have the run of that middle medallion thing because they have mass lords and can get hydra/lurk around easier and faster than the terran who has to drop shit 2-3 dropships at a time. so i think with a good bit of scouting zerg can quarantine terran out of that middle because they can scourge/lord drop then tech to guards and that middle area is soooo safe without serious terran/toss air support (sairs/valks/wraiths)
see the beauty of that middle formation is its proximity, u can run hydras around on it from one side to other in no time, and zerg can keep bringing as much reinforcements as they can produce due to lord. i think its the most balanced semi island map ive seen from first impressions.
and the valley of wind reminds me of paradoxxx in that u can build shit in middle elevated ground and stop ur enemy mining centre expands. in fact 2 expand island start its paradoxxx sideways

I don't HAVE TO go early exp, but sooner or later you're gonna have to exp and on this map you either have the advantage already and you can secure your exp or you have to try an hidden exp or something like that.

These maps are crazy. I honestly think the 4th map(Requiem) would be a dope air map if they took away ramps... Hopefully 2nd and 3rd maps are the ones they pick though. Regardless of what you think about Zerg openings, it's pretty hard to play ZvT on a map like the the first one. There are plenty of things you can do, but the only pressure Z has early on vs a T is with ling(Hopefully with speed) counter threat, and powering due to the defense sunken provides(Allowing ample time to mass units and prepare a strong opening). Map like that sort of takes away the powering part, and it's all about your opening timing vs T's. ; [

Requiem and wvally of Wind imho are the best....MERCURY sux for any zerg zvp any word can be said beacuase toss easly take exp after exp with cannons and mass....and zvt m&m will bloc the way and tanks will take the res with exp's under the cosmic space the geurenic cna be good for zerg only when respawns will be long 11-5 1-8 short respwan it means easly dead for zerg withoutn exp or 2 way deffending exp and main. Requiem is some kind modifaid of Hall of Valhalla with much more space on the middle it can bee good but that mins on the midlee corners UP terran strats with tanks after them

Any terran must yunderstand that zerg must have advantage of exp. if they dont it means dead for them.... try to atack ling hydra vs marrins and you will understnad what i mean only lurkers and without +exp gass you are dead

I just discovered somes bugs on requiem... It advantages zerg a LOT 
Well let me explain : All races can expand easily at the 2nd expand (the one which is blocked by minerals) by using the 2 peons gathering. But when i tried to pass throught the minerals only glings can pass it : that means they can attack any early expands while zerg can expand very safely...
I hope they will be some of these tricks in the tournament ^^ It would be fun don't u think ? (Hope it's not Boxer which will do this first...)

All maps which can be reached by tanks without going to the ramp or whatever is a terran map 
It's really not fair when u see tanks in ur minerals and can't kill'em (example : p2h, legacy of char, the new js (wgt i think), chow chow/martian cross(the expand), gaema gowon etc...). I don't really like to play zvt in those maps..

anyways, no one you would consider an sc player in today's standard designed LT.. lt was made before there were playres of any level, and with a completely different balance in mind. not only that, blizz only included fastest speed as a joke, so that tells you how much their expectations of how the game should be played meant around the time LT was being crafted.
