WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE?
l10f is the best poster on TeamLiquid, and his StarCraft skills are just as good. What can I say? He's a perfect person. He's one of the best Zerg players out there and he is taking time out of his busy life to graciously accept a noob's challenge. Click here for more information.
ilikestarcraft is a horrible poster, never makes any thoughtful responses. He's has a lot of posts, but his icon is still an SCV due to the number of posts he has that actually contribute to this site is less than 10. He is a very abusive TvZ player that likes to pretend he is better than he is, and although you might be deceived by his cute looks, is in fact evil in his heart. Click here for more information.
WHATS AT STAKE?
1. The loser must call the winner oppa every time he adreeses the winner. 2. The winner gets to change the loser's signature on TL.net for 3 months. 3. The loser must sing Cutie Honey by Ayoomi (Verse 1 and chorus only) for everyone in TL to listen to (and laugh at)!
The Format:
The match will be best of 5. However, ilikestarcraft only has to win one set in order to win the match. That means l10f needs to win 3-0 or ilikestarcraft will be the winner. However, ilikestarcraft is NOT allowed to use any all-in builds. I already went over with ils what is all in and what is not, and we agreed on it.
On March 07 2010 10:14 Sunyveil wrote: wait, what's the point of having a map for fifth set?
Even if ils wins 1 match and becomes the winner, we intend to finish off the bo5 series.

Am I missing something or is it not pointless to have more than 3 maps? Either ILS wins one of the first 3 maps and therefore the match or l10f wins 3-0. Right?

Edit - Is there a thread that shows why ILS has his icon fixed as an SCV? (in detail, lol not like the OP in this thread)
I'm not sure if this is ils, but i remember a member asking to have their icon lowered one level, (so like hydra down to zergling) because the icon one level lower than their current one was their favorite unit, but of course the admin that responded (probably kennigit or sonuvbob) just set their icon to worker level.

I thought once you passed a certain post count it went back to the worker icon and you could ask for any of the others but maybe ils just likes the scv? Idunno it's been a while since I saw the thread that explained it since most threads on icons degrade into asking for icons or asking for the formula then it gets closed and people get banned.
I seem to remember a certain amount of lolz going on when FA passed 10k and rolled back to a probe icon.
I just... well, as much as this could be more or less the most awesome/hillarious thing that has happened between posters on TL.net. I feel I must ask the question, why?

You try playing ils tvz and tell me that he's D+. And besides, ils's cheese is fail, so he's better off not trying anyway.
i remember i had a game vs evo where i proxied a fact got in his base with a vult with no sunks up and i ended up losing 3 vults killing not a single drone.... and no it was not because he started microing like jaedong either. I just followed his drones to his nat and my vult got stuck in the ramp and the second got trapped between his nat mins.

Yes, I am allowed to all-in, but why would I? Play standard and easy 3-0 for me
That's the weird part.
Talking big isn't as fun if you put restrictions on the challenger. In fact, you should really try and accommodate them. Otherwise it's just...lame : (

ils is boring to watch. He's like a Korean robot. No variation in his game at all. His games vs Evo are hilarious. Evo does whatever the fuck he wants, while ils just does the same shit every game.
The rule about no allins makes no sense. If a big attack does no damage you're always fucked. That doesn't make them allin because the assumption of the attack is that it will do enough damage to delay them as much as it delayed you and create transitions. For example, a speedlot attack against a zerg with muta about to complete when the protoss has no air defence in his main may seem allin, for if the attack fails then the protoss will lose his main to mutalisks. However the protoss cannot get unlucky and do no damage because that is not the situation, although if the speedlots simply ceased to exist the mutalisks could fly into the protoss main and destroy it that is not the case. Ignoring them would cost the zerg his spire and a lot of drones which would leave the protoss even while using the mutalisks against them would allow the protoss to get air defence. The point is that almost every attack in bw is allin, the attack is intended to create a situation and if everything goes wrong the attacker is fucked. The key point is that the attack will generally do about what it should do allowing both players to transition.

All-in builds and all-in attacks arent the same, and besides, its not a rule that I imposed on him, he said he wanted to beat me without doing any all-ins.
before anyone asks again i just mean im not going to do anything like rock paper scissor type of builds. Like proxy bbs in the middle of the map.

Then it's his lack of understanding I'm criticising.
oh, this brings back memories. once upon a time on these here forums there was a poster named jared, aka DeadVessel. he was given 20 games to take one game off of ToT)Strafe( and went 0-17 before giving up. will history repeat itself? will ilikestarcraft join the ignominious ranks of the completely owned?
On March 08 2010 13:46 TwoToneTerran wrote: Wait so if there's no early rushes, why would you do anything but 14cc/12hatch every game?
because that would make it boring and the whole point of this is entertainment for myself when I beat ils with the most random units like drones and broodlings

No, I don't want to sound too cocky. But I am. There is no way I will lose to ils even though you're better than me and you're practicing with him 24/7

He's actually training by doing TM against 2-3 people.

the point isn't whether he can beat ver, it's how much he improves his multitask/game sense by playing against a semi-perfect opponent who can punish mistakes mercilessly

He'll be seeing exploding vessels in his sleep tonight.
Probably wake up to a vessel going boom and then realize that it was only a nightmare.

You havent figured us KPop people yet? We are born natural haters =P

Game 3, when l10f is up 2-0, there needs to be a power outage.
Man, I just realised that I won't be able to watch this tomorrow. Is there any chance of a VOD so I can see how much owned ILS is due to the no-rush rule?
Time to see if my 1 week of only UMS'ing to lower my skill level vs his 1 week of practicing in 1v3 Team Melee will have made our skill levels about equal.

You clearly didn't watch the games. Playing literally straight up, ils had a pretty good shot at winning game 1, and should have won game 2 rather convincingly. l10f is no B- and ils is definitely better than D+ at TvZ.

no waiiii if I didn't make 10 queens in game 1 I would have had way more ultras and in game 2 my build was practically just giving him the match.
i don't mean to take away from the hilarity of this all (i'd love to see those forfeits especially), but this is still a rung lower than tfeign vs ahk-gosu
wow i have a terrible mic so you have to put it on full volume to hear. I wonder if only way to is to sing louder._. Dont listen with earphone especially at the end i got a bit bored. Im going to sing this song when i go to the noraebang in korea. Its fun to sing.
