Yeah but that's the thing, Flash hasn't won everything. That's what people complain about, even his fans. He's so good but has so little leagues under his belt. But hell, the way he is playing now, he sure is about to achieve some great stuff.

SKT had holes in its game. Flash right now has little to none. It's as if he's a machine.

I think, to answer the question in bold, people just hate him because he is simply too good. There is a saying I heard somewhere: "nobody likes the perfect person, jealousy sees to that". As absurd as it seems, I think the people who dislike him would all the sudden have no problem with him if he started to lose a bit. This includes people who claim to hate him for his play style, since they don't really hate his style, they just hate his success.
Totally agree with you. Flash doesn't turtle all the time, and even when he does, he does it right. If turtling is so OP or imba why wouldn't every other terran be doing it? I feel sometimes we forget every strat from cheese to turtling is still one of the many many legit strats in this behemoth of a RTS game.

lol... people hating Flash because he's not entertaining. It's like people complaining about the San Antonio Spurs (when they were winning Championship rings). Tim Duncan and his crew were doing SOLID fundamentals and playing straightforward basketball to roll other teams just like Flash and they got hated for it.
I'm not watching Flash to see him put on a show... if I wanted that I'd watch Firebathero. I watch Flash to see how to properly play and WIN not lose like a chimpanzee trying to entertain the mindless crowd.

I've said this before, but I'll say it again: epic, entertaining matches can only result from a situation where the players are doing everything in their power to win. If the players have some attitude about wanting to entertain rather than win then you can kiss any epicness goodbye and start watching wrestling instead. The fact is that both players were trying really hard to win, and Flash played too good for Best to have much of a chance at making things entertaining. The end. Flash didnt play to win in game 2. He played not to lose. which is why it went 50 minutes. He killed Best's nat and had 3 base to toss 2 yet he backs off and lets Best take 6 bases and make a game of it. cant complain about game 3, he just outplayed best there Playing not to lose is the same as playing to win dude, this isn't chess; there's no draw (well....basically not anyway). Look at his interview: it's not as if Flash wanted to camp that long, but he was scared of Best's sick macro and the fact that the map wasn't too great for terran so he decided to play it safe. I.e. he decided to maximise his chances of winning.
it was, however, an error in judgement given the magnitude of his advantage. i'm not surprised flash is disappointed with how he played.
game 3 was textbook monstrous Flash, it's just too bad Best chose such a retarded build order

It should be this way when any player gets out of control. If there's one absolutely dominant figure in any competition, it's only natural to root for him to lose, as there would be no point of watching Player X win all the time.

You're welcome. I actually would not expect Flash to beat the current Kal (a very in-form one) in a bo3 or bo5 given the way he played today. Like... I don't know if I would even expect any of the games to be close.

Where's the excitement in that? Flash has the most aggressive TvZ out there right now and all he does is turtle? People hated Flash back when he used to cheese all the time 'cause he would cheese, then they hated him 'cause he'd sit in his base and get 200/200 then 1a2a3a for the gg. Now that he's changed style once again, people hate it 'cause he makes it look easy. As another post said.. "haters going to hate."
If people can't get behind Flash's style, there's no need to hate him for it.. just don't watch games in which he plays. Go watch Shine if you want super-aggressive early/mid game. Zero if you want "creatively" being thrown in your face.. even if its not needed. Or, Turn if you want to see some Micro (or the older players playing not-so-old players.) But if you want to see how someone can effectively and efficiently play Terran while minimizing any mistake and capitalizing on any subtle exploit when dealing with another player, Flash is your dream-come true.
I just don't understand the hate, it seems to be a fad lately. Shine vs Stork, Flash vs Jaedong, Flash vs Best, Last seasons MSL, you name it. If someone does something that's contrary to the fans point of view or expectations, the fans become disrespectful.
On a final note, Best almost in tears was saddening. Worst moment of the new year.

yeah, again I mostly agree
although in truth i wouldn't really categorize him a perfect and precise machine because he does make some pretty sloppy mistakes at times
i like to analogize him as the new and somewhat crude WWI tank that has just entered the battlefield, rolling over and killing everything, sometimes cleanly, and sometimes messily, but always will the fate of death remain inevitable

The games tonight were all around disappointing... I got nothing out of them other than how to properly defend against reavers and how to do a 6 fac timing... Not to mention the games were all boring and long as hell... I'm going to bed. Ugh.

i'm just excited about the next best player to arise and go head to head with the genius that is flash. just imagine flash vs anti-flash butting heads. maybe then more people will realize that we needed more players like him.
