(T)Light > (Z)Killer Light is awesome, and though occasionally inconsistent is capable against anyone. He should obliterate killer.
(P)Jaehoon > (P)Spear Both of these protoss players suck, and both seem to be abysmal at PvP. However, Jaehoon has the potential to, one day, not suck horribly, and so he should win here. Plus, he recently beat Spear in the OSL preliminaries.
(T)Sea < (Z)Jaedong Sea is on a roll, is awesome, and the map may slightly favor Terran based on the number of TvT matches we have seen on it. But, Jaedong is Jaedong. I think this could go either way, but it should be a great game.
(Z)Saint < (T)HiyA Saint is a player than can play awesome, but often horrifically fails. HiyA doesn't exactly have stellar TvZ, but he is probably the favorite here. However, I am hoping (and would be unsurprised) if Saint pulled off the win.
If we get to the ace match, MBC has been playing 3 players on Fighting Spirit: Light, Sea, and Han. Of these, I think Sea is the most likely to appear. If Hwaesung sends out anyone other than Jaedong, they will loose. Fortunately, Fighting Spirit seems to be pretty favored towards Terran in TvZ, and so Sea might be able to take the victory this time.

Could be a 3-0 MBC or 3-0 Oz. Either way is possible. Hiya should be able to defeat Saint though. Hiya sucks, but Saint sucks worse. Just stating the obvious since I got nothing else to contribute.
However, I would strongly favor Jaedong over Sea. Whatever Jaedong prepared against Flash with his blood and spit for their epic showdown was...less than successful. I think he may ventilate a little anger on another Terran...
These matches look like they all can go either way. Even so, I would be shocked if the OP's predictions came true.

This sounds all nice and dramatic, but the fact remains that Sea has been playing really well this season. There is no reason to strongly favor Jaedong over any of the top TvZers, at best its even and at worst Jaedong is the underdog. As for Saint, he could easily defeat Hiya. It is the worst matchup for the both of them, but Saint does not suck more than Hiya.

If you look at Sea's recent record, you would see that he has not played all that many Zergs during his recent rampage. Hyuk and Hero are pretty bad at ZvT. Defeating Yarnc is no longer the accomplishment that it used to be. Jaedong, on the other hand, has played plenty of ZvT during recent times, prevailing against strong Terrans such as Fantasy, Hwasin and Ruby. His recent practices for his OSL run must still be fresh in his memory. On paper, Jaedong has the edge.
Also, based strictly on personal opinion here, it is my opinion that Jaedong got something to prove here. To be fair, so does Sea. But for Jaedong, he must prove it to his fans and to himself that he still got what it takes to rape Terrans.
Regarding who sucks worse, I think that the majority of TL'ers agree with me that Hiya is the favorite here. I have only watched one or two games featuring Saint and let me tell you, he looked pretty bad in those.

Pretty banners are yesterday's news. Polls are the next big fad.
Polls are fucking pointless and take up too much space. Banners are pointless too. All people care about are matchups, maybe some predictions with valid reasoning, and results along with a how to watch section. Anything else is simply unnecessary.

What a wonderfully cynical post. God forbid people have fun with things.
FWIW, I think this is the third or fourth in recent memory.

who cares about the banner anyway?
Not you, obviously. Seriously, though? I don't care that much, of course, but considering that it's marginally harder to make a banner, even such a crap one, than to swipe a nice-looking one from the last LR thread, let's just say that we care about equally.
I wouldn't care at all, actually, if it didn't try so hard to be cute, what with "proleeguez" and all. I'm so sick of the intentional misspelling meme--you know, stuff like "teh internetz". I guess that's why your banner annoys me. edit: heh, you replaced it. All right, I withdraw my complaint. Nice colors, though.
er...about the games? Go Jaedong, I guess. Unless it's a player I'm a fan of, I'm not that into Proleague. I still see Starcraft as an individual sport.
I think Light will beat Killer and Jaedong will beat Sea; the other matches are a toss-up, but overall I say Hwaseung takes it 3-2.

Fair enough with the misspellings, some things like that bother me too. I just threw it together one night when it seemed like no one was going to make a LR thread for a game and kept it. And I didn't really want to just steal a banner from another thread.
Anyway I think Light will probably beat Killer too, I would just like to see Killer pull through for OZ, and he has been doing pretty good as of late. And I can see any of the matches going either way, just hope it makes for some good games.
Spear has a losing record in the minor league, why the hell are Oz playing him? I understand with Killer, Perfectman they want to improve the rookies but Spear has been sucking ass for years.

They are probably desperate to find a Protoss who can actually win games for them.
This is it, Killers going to take off the kitty gloves and put on his neo-Jaedong pants. He's been heating up, this will be the day he explodes. OP is high as hell with that prediction. Saint and Hiya is pretty close actually considering Saint managed to beat Iris 2x in their msl group, though Iris isnt at his same form he was last year he still managed to give it to hyvaa, whom everyone thought was superior in zvt to saint.

But. That macro anyone could have done and there was no micro in that game. Thus people are not wondering how JD could lose to Sea, but how he could loose that way.
I wouldn't be worried at all about Jaedong. You really can't win with an economy that messed up when opening 9 pool, making 8 lings, 9 drone scouting and not doing any damage against a terran that fe'ed. JD just tried to cut all corners since he was already like way waaayyy behind after that and lost.
<sarcasm>OMG Sea you robbed us of what could have been an awesome epic game with your cheesy attack! Your parents are bad and your sexuality is questionable. Don't you know that all terrans must leave Jaedong alone until the lategame?</sarcasm>

i agree, but this is far from the first time, and more like the 10th time(that i can immediately pull into memory) that jd decides sunkens are for noobs.
"If you play Jaedong now, what winrate do you honestly expect? - Differences among progamers are slices of paper. The currently good ones have put a lot of effortt and luck has been good on them too. Progamers' skills have been standardized. If the build order is on my favor, I might win couple games against him because I'm a pro too. "
JD occasionally throws games away like this. Happened before, will happen again.
It didn't look like he had a game plan at all. Of course he didn't lose on purpose, but I am pretty sure he did not put much effort in it at all. Then the scouting goes wrong, your team is down 0:2. The hobby-psychologist in me would assume a motivational problem
i guess jaedong was more or less relying on sea pushing out and pulling back to "force" jeadong to build sunkens, but never actually attacking (which you see quite often)... He just decided this was a decent risk to take to give him an even chance in the late game, rather than play 'safe' and get the sunkens, and be behind in the mid game and have a repeat of jaedong vs flash game 1?
That being said i play protoss so i really have no clue :D. Terran usually has scan and scans to see if the sunks are there and base there push off that anyway right? I'm just trying to make some sense out of jaedongs "yeaaa 16 lings can beat 12 marines 2 bats and 2 medics, i dont need sunks" decision...
He skipped sunkens for a reason. He 9 pooled, drone scouted and made 8 lings which did nothing. And then he chose to 3 hatch at this moment. He was so behind in economy I guess he wanted to scare Sea off with lots of lings. He probably had a better chance 2 hatching, but he would've had to inflict some pretty heavy economic damage had he done that.

I think Sea could afford to play more aggressively and not pull his forces back because he saw the early pool. Once he gets stim and medics he can fight back a lot of zerglings with good micro. I think Jaedong didn't build the sunken because it would only prolong the inevitable. He was so far behind and his spire was not even done i believe.

Against 9 - pool it is a little bit tricky . Sure he would have defended if he build like 2 or 3 sunkens , but that would probably messed his muta timing big time with the low number of drones he had after the 9 - pool and would have been behind . If he on the other hand somehow stoped the attack with lings he would have had attacking possibilities with both mutas and lings ......Probably thats why he chose to not build sunkens ....

I really don't think he was that behind on economy. Sea pulled several probes to fend off the initial rush, and he built his CC on the high ground.
I didn't really look closely at Sea's BO, since I usually just assume it's the normal timing. But it's possible that he pushed earlier than normal. And Jaedong just wasn't prepared. Or he thought Sea's initial push was just to scare him into making sunkens.

Sure I can, watch me. I'd argue he's as confident in his ZvT as ever; opening 9 pool on that map would put you behind an even skilled opponent; it follows that JD was fairly confident in his ZvT as long as he could get it going into the mid-game he could outplay his opponent. JD would have been in a pretty good position that game if Sea had waited literally another ten seconds for the rest of JD's lings to hatch and the flank set-up. JD gambled that Sea would be indecisive and unfortunately Sea wasn't; doesn't mean it was a bad decision, good players always take these little risks to get advantages they just don't always work out.

what?... Lets assume Jaedong hatches.. another 12 lings for arguments sake. I still dont see how 26 lings with 0 sunken support can beat 12 marines 2 medics and 2 firebats, even with a good flank. Unless those 2 firebats get surrounded and killed instantly, and i doubt Sea would be stupid enough to let that happen, Jaedong would still lose the game.

Everyone should read these two posts before theorycrafting.
He chose deliberately not to make sunkens because he was already quite behind in economy and thought the only way to get the advantage back would be to defend with pure lings or scare Sea out of attacking.
I guess Terran players got what they wanted... their crazy 7raxes have forced Zergs to 9pool and then have the lings do absolutely nothing so they're way behind on economy. Although I'm sure they would've liked to see JD build 2 or 3 sunks too so that way the game seems like even more of a rape when JD would have no way of stopping Sea's first vessel push. Then they can all claim that JD sucks!
Really though, JD pussied out. That 7rax thing only works on New HBR; anywhere else I think he has the micro to stop a bunker rush. Sea's not really a cheesy player anyway (as far as I know).

My thoughts exactly. TvZ metagame has become from just imba to very imba. Zergs have to play safer from threats of Terran cheese and T play has become more economic
Its like Zerg is forced to have 5 pool economy and can't attack while Terran gets a 14 CC economy
Okay maybe not that extreme but u get the point
Blizzard needs to fix TvZ
EDIT: Jaedong's decision making was what cost him the game though. He still should have put up sunkens either way
I'm just saying he would have been behind even after he blocked that attack
Jaedong 9 pooling probably had a lot to do with the homosexual map.
Map stats are close to even, I thought he 9 pooled in hopes of catching Sea doing something like 14cc because of the map being 4 player and pretty big...
