And for your questions.. it really depends on game flow when you break upkeep, there's too many factors. Hu vs. Orc for instance, can sometimes have both players bank until they can hit 100/100 with max upgrades.

the units elf uses is talons, most important is his abilitiy to rise units in tornados not doing damage, so you want alot units in the air of orc, while you can do damage

Quite the opposite actually. how dotts work is THey only cyclone the blademaster and tc and sometimes a raider to make some blocks or make them use a disenchant on 1 unit. But mainly u keep the heroes cycloned mana burn tc and focus down the walkers or raiders 1 by 1

telling some more of wc3 since theres no sc:
there are different types of attack and armor, doing different damage, magic, normal, field attack and hard normal light and strengthened type of armor that interact different each other, like magic doing double damage to hard armor and like magic doing less damage to normal armor, its really complicated
