Hi again. I really recommend you to stay with 1 base in most cases. But in all games it depends. But in general you should stay at 1 base, and as you say tech for science vessels then move out to destroy him. Zerg will be far behind if he fails with the 4 pool rush. 1 base zerg vs 1 base terran is a huge advantage for the terran player, that's why they're always trying to take a fe so they wont die to quickly.

2 rax academy build against what he does works so-so. It's a bit about luck and placment. Really have a look where he's hydras and lurker are so none of them will sneak by if u decide to move out to pressure and stall him. You could try to this but be aware of this and keep teching to science vessles from there, make sure to have gas enough for the vessle asap and try to fill in with some tanks as you move out.

Thanks for the vods stylish - they are awesome! Have you considered making a 2 Rax build vs zerg?

AH this is the lasting legacy of what Stylish did.

I'm so proud of him an' all the hard work and effort he put into his videos.

He withstood the hail of questions and requests, the death-threats when he would put up "coming soon","Not yet", he withstood the shit-storm that is theory-crafting versus Idra, and all so that in the heydays of SC2, our dear old beloved BW can STILL be learnt and enjoyed

Give it a couple of months/years. SC2's only been out for 3 months and already innovation is happening. Won't be very long until Sc2 becomes what BW is.

is the flash 3rax style better as a long-term iccup build compared to the 9min push? or should i simply stick with the 9min push build, bearing in mind that the flash build has some intricacies i shouldnt bother with at noob levels?

Stick with the 9 min push, it's the most standard and lets you go more factory heavy if zerg is doing lots of lurker instead of the typical muta... At low levels you don't want to depend on late game marine micro vs mass lurks, believe me.

In brightest day
in deepest night
I do play Terran
but have no fright

no Toss can kill me
no Zerg too strong
as long as Stylish's VODs can guide my might.

My deathly fright and pallor bright were subdued,
When I clicked thrice more and VODs ensued.
My fear the links were bust was premature,
No longer ranked D-, evermore.

If only if only if only there was some, ANY guide to do this cool thing called 1-rax expand in a matchup that is not TvZ. 1-rax expand into double armoury seems to be the only way forwards, I don't want th have to wallow in Siege Expand if I don't have to.

Stylish Vods should be on the front page permanently. Also, I sadly don't know the exact BO for rax-expand in TvP or I would write it up for you =[

This post is for bITt.mAN.
It outlines a solid rax expand build versus Protoss used by Flash/Midas/Sea/Classic/Frozen when the rax expand first started being used regularly. I think this is the best one for you to learn, because the newest builds are far more technical and rely on repair micro more etc.

Normally I dont list the numbers, because it can oversimplify things, but it sounds like you want a 'go to rax expand opener' with numbers so here you go:
+ Show Spoiler +

supply depot
11 barracks
15 command centre
16 gas
16 supply depot
17 bunker
20 factory
26 2nd factory and depot
30 ebay and depot
32 2nd gas
34 depot
40 academy
42 depot
46 3rd factory and depot
54 command centre
armoury
4th and 5th factories
starport
science facility and 2nd armoury
6th/7th factories

How to execute this build:
Build 2 machine shops straight away. Get siege mode and 3 tanks. Add a turret at the natural then the main.

Next get 5 vults and speed/mine upgrades. When the upgrades finish, get the vultures out onto the battlefield.

Get another 2 tanks then back to vultures. Start claiming ground towards your 3rd base. Make your 3rd command centre at the 3rd base. Now you have 3 bases, 3 scanners, 5 factories and tech going up.

Get the double armouries spinning and more factories so you are on 7 to 9 factories. Now add turrets to defend against recalls and max out your army. After that, take a 4th and 5th base at the same time.

Variations:
Rax expand, 2 facs, ebay then academy is a good solid opener. You can change it up easily at this point.

If you want to be aggressive, throw down 2 more factories. Get 6 tanks 6 marines and then vultures from your 4 factories. Aim to park your army outside the Protoss natural and get one or two tanks hitting the nexus. Next, get armoury and third command centre.

If you want economy vs a nexus first build, skip the academy and throw down your 3rd command centre in your base and then get an armoury and pure tanks.

Note that this is a simplified guide, but it is solid and will win you games.
The game I based this on is Flash vs Free on Eye of the Storm
http://www.teamliquid.net/tlpd/korean/games/45292_Flash_vs_free

Edit: my numbers may be slightly premature because Im taking the numbers from the vod not the replay but basically keep making scvs and keep your factories lit, add depots, ebay, academy when you can will serve you perfectly. Also, darn I was snipered.

Edit 2: The aggressive 4 fac version or even 5/6 factories if you really want to will destroy many players try it!

This build is calling for ebay on 44. Isn't this really late? Protoss will crush this build if he chooses to tech either reaver (with good micro) or DT.

Also, is rax expand really a soft counter to 12 nex? I always thought they were about equal economically, with 12 nex being slightly better.

Isn't that what a soft counter is? It doesn't totally counter it but it leaves you in pretty decent shape?
