Flash vs ggplay was played about 3-4 months ago. The flash vs yarnc rep you mentioned was played in 2007. almost 2 years ago.
Variation as in the build is 1 rax double cc rax acad ebay after a 3rd rax and fact or ebay and fact. Also cc variations such as after 2nd depot at 18-19 or cc before 2nd supply at 15.

you are wrong about something.
you said that you liked the 9 min push better than artosis' build cuz it was made by flash, and you like flash.
well, artosis' build actually IS FLASH's STANDARD BUILD, proved by replays of his play. The build artosis mentioned was not just flash's but every pro terran's standard build awhile ago not anymore. Have you ever thought replays are usually very old. The game yarnc vs flash was played on python 1.1. Python hasnt been played in a league for like a few years. Flash's standard build is not artosis's build anymore. He does the 1 rax double cc adding a 2nd rax before acad. The build he uses are just variations to the one stylish wrote and the one petzergling wrote depending on if he scouted his opponent first time or not 3 rax tech or 2 rax tech. He said he liked the 9 min push build not because it was made by flash but because flash used it so well in the game vs ggplay and it was probably the first time he saw it. Like the first time i saw the fast +1 weap anti muta build was flash vs ggplay on python and i tried to copy it not because i thought flash invented it or something because it was the first time ive seen a build like that and seen it used so well. Boxer's standard build tvz was 2 rax acad fact port years ago. Should I use it now in all my games because it was BOXER's STANDARD BUILD proved by replays of his play? i only misunderstood wat stylish was saying. i already understand. you dont need to clarify that. and wtf? flash vs ggplay is realy old as well... so stylish shud just abandon it? and based on your logic, EVERY tvz build is a variation off another existing build... i never said stylish had to like the artosis build. i was only telling him that the artosis build is ALSO a build by flash and should not be pushed aside so easily since stylish did not know the artosis build was flash's/
Hey ramen i think you're overdoing it. I get your point and its valid, but it isnt needed. I've already said that artosis build is good, however I prefer my build because of reasons I've said in earlier posts. I never put it aside.
You also posted that my strats aren't autowin. I don't get this, ofcourse they are not autowin. But they are still good, so i don't understand the purpose of that post.
Also the game vs ggplay was quite recent and since the strategy is still being used its not too old. If you look through flash's last 10 games or more you'll see that he almost always adds a second rax before academy, thus going for slower aca and faster tech.
If you'd like a more detailed writeup on my view of the different tvz standard builds you can find it on page 32. I hope it will clarify everything.
Ypang yes 3 rax before factory is because you want to be offensive in the early midgame. Early +1 is never bad and you will need it vs the lurkers once they're out anyway and you need an ebay to make turrets. 4-5 rax is seldom used before factory and if it is it's probably for some kind of timingattack to break the zerg or a strategy against 2hatch muta.

Just wanted to say "Thank you Stylish!" for the awesome guides you've provided. I'm a D- player myself, and you covered alot of topics I've been wondering about for ages, but was never able to find details on. Looking forward to further VODs!
Are you planning on any guides dedicated to TvT? That is by far my worse matchup. My friends who I play with are Zerg and 'Toss, so I never get to practice TvT except on iCCup, where I get slaughtered, lol

r0kamo I'm glad you like it! I don't know when, but there will definately be some TvT VODs in the future.
|
I'm confused, why doesn't stylish have a quality poster star?
These VODs are awesome.

I agree with Kerotan, these VOD's are amazing. I just started up playing Terran about a month ago and these are very nice for improving early game play, and following these good strategies up. Thanks again Stylish <3

thnx guys!
I was going to upload some reppacks. Does anyone know a good place to upload them to? doesn't seem like i can upload them to yousendit.com
I've packed them to .rar

Hey Stylish, in your TVP general tips, you mention that Protosses opt for a fast third by often double expanding in response to a siege expand by the Terran. You said that the Terran can punish the Protoss for the low unit count with a timing push, I think you said 4fact. Do you think you could do a BO VOD of that next? Siege Expand into a 4fact timing push?

Sure. The heavier eco he goes, the faster push you should do.
For example if he eco's up with 3 nexus and protects with cannons, he's going to be very low on units and you can attack really fast.
If he ecos up to 3 nexus and start making units (less safe vs vultureharass) you should do a 5factpush, or a 6factpush without armory if he has no shuttle.
If he doesn't eco up but rather doing faster units, you should do the slowest push. Which is sitting on your 2 bases and macro up to like 170 suply on 6 factories.

I practice the 9 min push and I must tell it is really really easy to udnerstand and to execute - great job Stylish.
Also I was wondering what is a good way to adjust this build to 3 hatch lurker and lings - if Z decides not to go muta.
Happens often that I see both spire and den up - and its a bit confusing - I know you should check for larvae savings .. but ok once you figure out he is going lurkers how you should adjust your build pls?
|
Bogus: edit: sorry i mean Bugus lol^^
There are different ways to adjust. Normally i would add a second factory and delay the vessel for abit and push out with about 5-6tanks and a vessel. Or you could add more rax preassure him early with m&m keeping him in his base, while slower teching to 2fact tanks and a vessel.
While delaying the vessel you will have some extra gas and can use that to make a dropship. This is specially good if he has no spire, since lurkers are so slow.
Remember that if you don't see a spire you should use the turretmoney to either make more rax and be able to preassure him or make 2 bunkers and dont stop scv production.

Hey Stylish,
When playing the Fantasy build vs. opponent who opens 3 Hatch, have you encountered this response where they switch tech to pure Hydralisk off of those 3 Hatches and go for a full-on nat break? (I think this includes researching Overlord speed to clear the mines out).
This has happened to me a couple times and it easilly bowls over a bunker, mines and the few Goliaths I have making. How do you react to this (assuming you've gone up against it)?

Yes its very common. Float the rax to your expansion as soon as vulture is finnished. If you scout a hydraden, make a bunker and start producing marines also lay some mines close to the bunker. If you scout it in time, dont make a valkyre only a wraith, otherwise just make 1 valkyre. Dont upgrade range with goliaths, add factory instead of range. Make tanks from 1 fact and goliaths from 1 fact and be ready to pull many scv to repare the bunker. You will have 1 bunker w/ 4 marines. Some mines outside the bunker. 1 tank atleast and about 3 goliaths + 10 scvs repairing the bunker. This usually is enough to defeat 15+ hydralisks. If they attack with more its too late and you have siegemode.

Counter to the ROFLStrat. + Show Spoiler +It can't be countered. SCVs are invincible. Screw you zergplayers. [input endless laughter]

Holy crap, I just tried your "strong FD", and jizzed in my pants. Thank you so much for your videos Stylish!

I just wanted to post here to say that as a zerg player using these timings is amazingly accurate.
I think this is the best strategic thread on teamliquid. Good job.
I hope oystein watches and adapts a similar approach to explain his playstyle/approach also so that people could harvest equally apt knowledge.
Cheers!
