Generally you play standard 3hatch muta, with the exception that you add an evolution chamber right after your Lair is started, and immediately begin your carapace upgrade. Zergling speed is not researched until your mutalisks are out and harassing, and a large mutaling force is used to kill the Terran's first push. When your hive tech is begun, add another evolution chamber for melee upgrades, while continuing to upgrade carapace when the first upgrade finishes. At Hive completion, get Adrenal Glands and an Ultralisk Cavern, and get Ultralisk armor before speed. You will need scourge in order to keep the Terran vessel count low; picking off firebats with your mutalisks is also crucial to success. Another excellent thread that examines this build: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=66117 A post I made in that thread : On February 07 2008 09:27 ShaLLoW[baY] wrote: This is what I generally do: + Show Spoiler [Disclaimer!] + I suck me low apm chobo TT etc. 12hatch 11pool 14hatch 16gas 15over (standard much :p) First 100 gas goes to lair, start evolution chamber as soon as possible after lair starts +1 carapace as soon as evo finishes Get around 10-12 mutalisks and harass etc., research ling speed while harassing Once I've reached my desired mutalisk mark, I start to pump lings like no tomorrow and set up a s1ck a$$ flank!!1! I try to secure third gas at a usual timing, queens nest once third gas secured, and then hive ASAP I then add another evo chamber when hive finishes and start crack+ultra cavern +2 as soon as +1 finishes, start melee as soon as second evo finishes ultra armor first, then speed. *I notice that a dropship will always arrive at this timing, I don't know if it's standard but I like to have scourge in place at each hatch just in case :p Because i've been pumping lings+drones since my muta popped, I have quite the gas stockpile which I can use for ultra+defiler should it become necessary. From here on I try to keep up macro/micro while abusing my massive upgrade advantage <3

but yeah, all they say is that goes off 2 bases and the best way to stop it is to sunk break before they get ultras.

![]() As a TvZ user, my Terran macro has to be spot on or else a few ultralisk will destroy my entire army. If zerg adds defilers, the scenario will become even uglier ![]()

When my Lair is done i get queen nest and 2 evos at same time - start upgrades and tech to Hive to get cracklings and ultras. This strat just kick ass at lower levels. When I am tired climbing ladder, i change to Zerg and do this strat on every Terran till C. Your upgrades will be far later than those in the build outlined earlier; how do you intend to hold off the Terran mid-game push that normally comes when you have a large mutaling army if you follow the usual build? The key is having that early carapace upgrade so that your zerglings can be the shredders, not the shreddees.
