Been watching replays/VODs here and there, bought remastered in a nostalgic impulse. Really want to improve the way I play, only played custom till now. Interested, if BW BO's are viable in remastered, and what are the essentials playing as Protoss Thank you in advance. | ||

In TvT on Arcadia 2 I have an issue when other player creates a contain on my main and natural with tanks, vultures and wraiths. My main was top right in the last game so I had three mining bases. I can defend easily but with only three bases to mine from other player will just wait until I mine out. How can I brake contain against army of that composition? I usually play medic, marin, tank. And that is all I know at the moment as I'm a total noob (I don't count BW and SC2 singleplayers). | ||

Never go Medic + Marine in TvT. Bust contains using SCVs, Tanks, Goliaths, and/or Dropships. Or just use Dropships to fly around the contain and drop him when he gets greedy. | ||

When I play I tend to "forget" to macro, forget to make SCVs and assign them to work, forget to make units. If I focus on macro then my army is dead very quickly :D my APM is 70-80, and I peak at around 130. Reason I like BW so much is because it is so hard and it is challenging. It has really steep learning curve. But I never thought I would have so much problems. Everything looks easy when I watch pro players or streamers. | ||

So you can spare some SCV's as extra cannon fodder when trying to bust out a contain. Send them in front of your main army, and they can absorb a couple tank shots to allow time for your tanks to not take damage as they get in range and siege up. You'll need to focus on both macro and micro, because if you don't have macro, you won't be able to replenish your army if your current one dies. | ||

SCVs just work as a sort of buffer to soak up some hits, and also deal a little bit of damage when they aren't being attacked. In BW TvT what's really important is that tank attack range is higher than vision. Especially when contained - float a building close enough to his units to grant vision (have some goliaths to attack wraith if he has some... which he shouldn't though) and your tanks should be able to attack him without getting wrecked. I usually also like to ferry some vultures to low ground in order to mine up his potential bases, as well as dropping in his eco while he's containing. | ||

You should improve your macro first and fix your habit of forgetting to build stuff. You will never be able to break a contain, if you have less stuff than your opponent. Arcadia is actually a good map for you to focus on that aspect, because you only need to defend one spot to get 3 bases. And if you are contained and outnumbered, build up a dropship fleet while you take the 3 bases. There are islands on the map too, making it way harder to turret up all dropship paths. | ||

Any suggestions how to improve my macro except the obvious to grind on ladder game after game? I need to learn some builds for every matchup and practice them. Not only this one medic+marine+tank. Start to scout better and read my oponent. In theory I know what I need to do, but in the game hands are not listening to me. tnx to all of you, your advices are greatly appreciated  | ||
