marine medic ratio

for all the terran players out there i want to know your m&m ratio when playing against zerg. i personally go for a 4/1 ratio for smaller groups but as my forces get bigger i will go for a 6/1 or 7/1 ratio.

its a matter of preference , i use 6/1 when i offrace terran. Whats more important is medic positioning, if medics are out of position then it doesnt matter what the ratio is .

From a zerg perspective, I find that a ton of medics lategame is *really* annoying to deal with, because they screw with ultra pathing so much.

I think another way of looking at it would be at what point do you have so many medics that it becomes unefficient?

i'm trying to maintain 4/1 ratio since with something lower cracklings alone will be cost efficient against rines

in practical large battles the medic serves more of a symbolic purpose - cracklings and lurkers deal so much damage that theres not much medics can do about it. So enough medics to recover stimmed life without running out of energy works good

get some vods/reps of pro terrans and see their marine medic ratio. Should give you a general idea of what to have.

As a zerg player, if they can micro their mutas well, it won't matter 1 bit how many medics you have. So there is no need for a 2/1 or 3/1 ratio.

I would see a 6/1 work well
Once you master the protoss, there's nothin stopping you

As a zerg player, I welcome the MM balls that have many marines and very few medics rather than those that have somewhat many marines and a decent number of medics.

i hotkey marines 1 2 and medic 3. so usually the "ball" will be 1:3. but it depends marines and medics dies so fast the ratio is different every time. 8 rax = 2rax medic 4 rax marines etc...

remember to keep in mind that vs early game mutas you need a bit more medics than later on, since you have to stim constantly vs muta harrass and medic energy drys very fast.

even with a good ratio, the AI seems to choose(from my experience) killing marines over medics, so they can also be used as walls. if only against players that don't directly target the medics. just something to keep in mind

bah. i feel like i've been overdoing it all this time now that i read this :| I've been putting all my medic/rine/bat in one group then double clicking each to stim lol.

I dont make too much medics. But thats cuz I never play TvZ. :o Oh yeah, and SC2 kinda sucks cuz you have to go medivac instead of a much easier, simple medic

When I offrace, I think I usually went with 5:1 or 6:1... I prefer to use that tiny bit of gas for either faster upgrades or adding gas units (like tank / vessel) asap. My philosophy is... marines shoot bullets, medics don't. lol
