I agree with all of the things you just said. So many people are bashing NonY on other SC sites, which is ridiculous. It sucks that NonY has to go back to the states, but what he has done in Korea was amazing.

Everyone saying Nony let them down needs to learn a little thing about priorities. Nony doesn't owe us anything and real life should always take precedence over what people online say/think about him, so good for him.

Anyways GL to Nony.
Go Idra, you're our only hope now.
I agree with this since he was somewhat representing us that is why everyone is so upset. I mean I am not totally surprised if he was engaged and also was planning on continuing his education sooner then later. I just think you need to seriously think of these factors before you actually commit to go doing something so serious.

Hope you succeed in what ever you do! GL

I fully agree, apart from the insulting kids it's the people acting like Nony owes them anything who annoy me the most.
Sure, people have every right to be disappointed, but that's about it.

NonY, I'll always be your fan and I'm glad that you gave it your all in Korea. I understand that being away from your family/potential career/girlfriend/home country must have been difficult and I really respect that you tried.
I hope you stick with eSports! I'd love to see you heading up a USA SC2 team.
GLHF! And ignore the flames...anyone who trashes you for "giving up" just doesn't know how hard the progamer's life must be.
Also, I'm glad some other posters have pointed this out: even leaving Korea now, you've already accomplished tons for the USA/foreign SC scene. 1st in Stamina, a good performance at WCG USA/WCG, helping eSTRO perform in the PL, and of course your epic Courage placement. Well done, man!

I remember about two years ago, I watched you and Day[9] commentate the famous (or infamous) Bisu vs Savior series on youtube. At the end of the video I saw the picture with Teamliquid on it and I was like, "what's that??" A quick google search and the rest for me is starcraft history. Anyways, from the moment I saw your fpvods I felt like you were something special and I know now that you had the potential to do really, really well in Korea. Whatever your reasons for coming back to the United States, know that you gave me this fantasy that somebody with talent and drive could put their life on hold and become a pro-gamer living the dream in Korea. But in actuality, I'm sure you made the right decision. After all, you know your life far better than any of us do. Just know that I really appreciate the efforts you made.
GL NONY and stay strong!

I don't think people are insinuating that Nony owes them anything. I, for one, am disappointed -- I'm afraid that we'll never see a foreigner compete on a top level in Korea. After Nony's courage performance, everyone had enormous expectations. We thought for sure he'd win his way into the A team and make it to televised matches in 2009. For that to no longer be a possibility leaves disappointment. I'm not BLAMING Nony for his decision, I'm just regretful that things turned out this way.

This is disappointing to hear. It's always nice to cheer for a foreigner in Korea and, in my opinion, the more the merrier! Oh well, I'm sure you had your reasons. To the haters, try to understand that situations can arise that take priority over one's dreams. We live in the real world, we can't just blindly follow our dreams forever. I guess Idra will keep the foreign hope alive over there.

I always hope for a new Grrr.... (3 r's 4 dots?) to show up, and I had a dream.. I had a dream.. GL NonY, it's always exciting when foreigners go to korea.

Yes Nony does not owe the individual us anything. But I find it hard to argue that he does not owe the universal us something. Please don't think I am implying he should have stayed when all reasons point otherwise, but I believe we deserve more than "I am leaving Korea".

Good luck with everything Nony...

Training to become a pro-gamer must be tough. I hope it was a good experience for you.
Think of it as an extended vacation =) Go NonY!

No, we want more than "I am leaving Korea". It's his life to live and as such any information he or EStro gives is what is deemed as what the community has deserved, and after how many people have flung fecal matter around for his leaving, it's obvious that the community got what it deserved.
Good luck in your future endeavours Nony, hope all is well for you and hope to see your name still in the scene!

the estro house is heated through the floor. the floor heat is ridiculously high. our room is an oven. nony discovered a way to regulate the room temperature. he would watch it throughout his day in the estro house, and we would sleep in the most amazingly temperature controlled room in korea.
now that he's gone, so is his dedication to correcting room temperature, and the secret of just how its done. now i wake up every morning dehydrated again.
i miss nony~ t.T!
really best to him, he did great here.

This is the second time you are ripping on Nony. Keep it up.
