Yankee Stadium was in the Bronx, as is Fordham University, the New York Botanical Gardens, the Bronx Zoo, and a wide variety of great parks, including Van Cortlandt and Pelham Bay. In fact, I would argue that the Bronx is one of the 10 wonders of the modern world in terms of prestige, historical significance, and overall land value.

Obviously even if it's not Starcraft anymore, as far as I remember, being a Duke graduate does mean something! It means he has a higher chance than most of us here in securing a nice good freaking job that's like 1000 times better pay than a typical average salary of being a progamer..... So I'm not worried or concern for him much regarding his future..... I do though, wish the best of luck and future for him! But like I said... Duke University... Are u sure 1000 times better pay than progamer? Prolly he can get is same pay as B team at the start but will never reach A team and S class paycheck. Unless high position which pays like 20k so its equal A class gamers monthly pay only. Not to mention prize and bonuses. A class progamers make shit all for money. Even the s class people dont make alot without winning a league, or just being one of the few that are really famous and charismatic so they can do ads and what not. Doing almost anything not progaming with a uni degree will almost certainly pay better than a progamer, unless he's in the top .01% of that field. Which is applicable to anything else.

Nony, of course you don't know all of us, but we all feel we know you a little bit, so you are (most definetedly) NOT a nobody for all this people that are reading this. Beeing a foreigner (an outsider, whatever) in Korea made us cheer for you sometimes more than we cheer for each of our favourite progamers. Be sure you left a void that will be really hard to fill. I wish you all the luck you can have to deal with your "personal reasons" that took you away from your excellent jorney. This might sound strange, but... "Thank you" for all you achieved, you made us all feel like winners. Thank you!

LOL Anyways, any non-korean that comes to korea and can't get along or has trouble due to 'culture shock' is in fact not having trouble because of 'culture shock' but merely because they are antisocial shy fucks with warped senses of reality.

Korea is ultimately very close to western society. It's not like he went living in south india country side or what else. It's fairly sad tho, the guy seemed very good. I think he was too old tho. It's really hard at this age to just sit there and think you're going to make your life out of playing a game, unless you're somewhat involved on various levels within this same industry. On a side note, the way it is nowadays is very different, and going for pro gaming almost looks like going to fucking jail. Grrrr... left for korea because he was bored to death in Quebec and was free in Korea. I went so I wouldn't have to deal with my family and be free.. Elky and smuft went there to be pro gamers and ultimately had great fun, clubbing, dating, renting their own places, finding their own pc rooms... basically "living". At last, I might be wrong on this, but I don't understand how one could be thinking to be able to compete with some of the Korean players beeing 15 or 16 and playing the game since they're like 8 or 9. I'm sure Idra and Nony are able to win games etc.. but like, nowadays, the starcraft machines we see winning in individual leagues.. come on o_O their level is just something not reachable unless you come from the same kind of SC diet they've been in for as long as they can remember. You're right but you need to realize everything is relative. Jail for one might be freedom for another. It all depends on where they are coming from / how much they care / what else they could/would be doing if they weren't there. You're pretty much right though. Theres no hope for any whitey in SC1 anymore. The gap has just grown too big. But on the other hand that doesn't mean going to Korea to be a pro-gamer is necessarily a bad thing for anyone. It could be a great experience no matter what, even if you're forced to stay behind your computer 17 hours a day. I mean, you can always go and hope the Lord of Night whisks you away in his dark shadow for an evening. That'll be worth the wait.

The fact they're hard workers has not to be a cultural shock. What you guys decided to endure is totally fucked up, and I know much about fucked up situations and ways of living there. Again, Starcraft is not what Korea is. It's not even what you could call a "part" of it. Saying they're culturaly close : They've been fed of Western culture for 50 years non stop You have a huge movie theatre complex in every district playing 80 % + of western movies Everybody dresses there with european and american brands You got fast foods and western food restaurants EVERYWHERE There is no portion of the population you're litteraly not able to see Everyone walks freely and talks freely in the street. They drink the same brands could name countless of other things My guess is that any of you that says there is a cultural shock over there never been living to in a very different culture than ours. Korea is prolly the closest thing there is to USA or Europe in Asia, aside honk kong.
