청풍명월Poll: English name for this map?( Vote): Sword in the Moon ( Vote): A Fresh Wind and a Bright Moon ( Vote): Harmony ( Vote): Call it by it's crazy Korean Name ( Vote): Other (suggest in thread) On September 29 2008 20:47 Passenger wrote: I don't know head or tail that "청풍명월" was translated to "Sword in the Moon". it means, "a fresh wind and a bright moon". It is a term that stands for beauties of nature. That movie's title(Sword In the Moon, 2002) is totally non-related, that name was focused to story of movie. and as Mapmaker said, this map focused to "Harmony" of several features(Rush routes, center hill, wall by mineral and neutral building) I suppose to change name of that map. 추풍령![[image loading]](http://www.teamliquid.net/tlpd/images/maps/189_Chupung-Ryeong.jpg) Poll: English name for this map?( Vote): Chupung-Ryeong ( Vote): Autumn Wind ( Vote): Other (suggest in thread) You have until the start of this years Proleague season to decide.

also i find NO HARMONY AT ALL ON SWORD IN THE MOON
STUPIDEST PATHING EVER

Do the names actually mean anything?
Google Translate gave the following: 청 풍 명 월 - Style of Blue October 추 풍 령 - Chu-style Spirit
edit: It's nice to have a name that actually relates to the Korean wording of it, maybe some variation like: "Fresh Wind, Bright Moon" or "Wind and Moon" could work. If the second map's translation comes out to be "Autumn Wind" then it works out fine I think.

Sword in the Moon and Chupung-Ryeong. I'll never remember Harmony and whatever the other one was.
Sword in the Moon and Chupung-Ryeong. Got used to them already
Yea, I'm used to their original names already.
Sword in the Moonn and Chupung, I guess Sword in the Moon could change, but Chupung is firmly in my head for some reason.
i believe we'll dub the first one "who flung dung" second one can be "garden shed"

추풍령 is actually a place in Korea in one of the provinces.. I'm not sure why they named a map after it tho.
Sword in the Moon and Chupung-Ryeong because I'll forget the names if they're changed. xD

청풍명월 (Cheong-pung-myung-wol, shortly myung-wol) has a second meaning. it's a metaphor for the personality of integrity, moderateness, purity, soundness and so on.
'The hill of autumn wind' is the most complete words for chu-pung-ryung.
I now dub them Swastika 1 and Swastika 2 to honor those fellow TLers who see swastikas on every map.
First one should just be called Harmony
Second one Chupung
(edited for second map)
The first one could be Harmony of the Moon maybe?
I like Autumn Wind, it sounds totally cool.
harmony is a good name for a map, but sword in the moon is better
Just use the English names, I cringe whenever I hear YouTube commentators flay the pronounciations -___________-
I like how chupung-ryeong sounds, so I'd rather keep that over another 'oh-this-is-deep-and-poetic'-name. (even if it happens to be an accurate translation, I'm tired of hearing those types of mapnames. ) The other one can be Moonly Fresh or whatever, don't really care.
sword in the moon si a nice movie and a nice name >_<;;
Chupung ryeong... I got kinda used to it and I would keep it! I can't say it by the korean name of the first one, so we can call it whatever we want. Go for Harmony!
Voted for: Sword in the Moon + Chupung-Ryeong
Sword in the Moon sounds much more unique. I have a feeling more people will remember the map by calling it Sword in the Moon rather than Harmony. It just doesn't look like harmony to me haha.
Chupung-Ryeong sounds really kool in my opinion. I guess I'm too used to hearing it. Autumn Wind is actually okay as well. Chupung-Ryeong sounds more appealing to the ears, and Autumn Wind sounds a little... boring?
Second one should be called "Third base miles away"

Susie doesn't think Autumn Wind is very reasoned; I think Chupung Ryeong exudes badasserie.
I said Harmony for the first one but it I don't really like the map. Your nat has a main entrance and a small one so someone can easily run a HT in there and fuck over the workers maybe even vultures if they fit.. Or just make a siege contain there because that small choke is easy to block. The 3rd looks impossibly hard to defend, 4 bridges and 1 massive ramp? You kidding? D=

Good thing you don't cringe when Koreans pronounce 'zergling' or 'wraith'.

TLPD will decide the map names.
First Map Third wtf?
Second Map The Hills
Well there's my suggestion hopefully people will understand where this is coming from. The second map looks especially crazy and should be revised but that's my opinion.
both map names sounds weird xD but i voted for harmony and chupung-ryeong
it only sounds nice to koreans lol.
Map 1: Voted Harmony. It is one word only and Sword of the Moon sounds gay for some reason.
Map 2: Dunno what to vote. There is no explanation of the Korean name and ... well, everyone is calling it Coupon-Right-On already, so maybe no change?

Though this seems viable to me, but I would go with Distant 3rd to be a little serious...

More people should vote for chupung-ryeong. The voting is closer than incontrol vs mahnini 08.
how can anyone fight against the allure that is chupung-ryeong? I've been saying that constantly since the map came out, its just a fun name to say. Autumn wind is terrible in comparison.
Yeah, I like the first names
Different names I can think of though are: 1. Pinnacle
2. Slalom
I dunno, they're pretty dumb...
P.S. Chupung-Ryeong is too good. It also provides a bunch of non-Korean speakers to have a ball trying to pronounce it correctly (myself included...)
Harmony is a terrible map name. Sword of the moon is fine. The second one should just go by the korean name.
Chupung-Ryeong should be called Yoshi
On September 30 2008 10:59 ktp wrote:+ Show Spoiler +Chupung-Ryeong should be called Yoshi Win. Do you name star constellations too?
the first one should be called
"Le Petite Sauce"
Sword in the Moon is a really cool name, and Chupung Ryeong has a cool sound to it~
Harmony is a cool name and it is short. Chupung-ryeong has been called that for a short while now so I say with stick with what it already is.
the first map reminds me of a zen garden, hence it should be called Zen Garden
I just call it "The Terran 'WIN' map"

wow on a tangent to names the first map looks crazy ;o like wtf terrans can never go 1 rax double anymore tvz? >>
Why is TL.net the only place using random name 'Harmony'. It's annoying TL doesn't stick to the universal name.
I don't care if 'Harmony' is the better name or not, which it obviously isn't anyway. Double names are annoying and confusing.

'We' basically came up with Sword in the Moon. Your problem.
Sword in the Moon and Yoshi have my vote, make it happen.
in germany we call this map "bruttospreching im schwert"

Did you miss the point or are you just taking a shot at me?
I always liked calling them by their Korean Names cause the english one's sound cheesy
Basically call them by their Korean names because its funny as hell to hear Chill casting and saying them.
Harmony sounds a lot better.
Hell, if it was on a twilight tile set then perhaps Sword in the Moon would sound better, but it's Jungle.
EDIT: I like Chupung-Ryeong or Yoshi for the second one
