k. lets see.
nada got DTed out of WCG. boxer got DTed into tie breaker. xellos gged as soon as DT came in. kingdom gged with nal_ra's DT as the final straw.
now wtf with all the progamers these days? or is this DT thingy actually getting popular becuz its a really powerful strat?

I have said it before that there is no good reason not to use them, pro gamers are finally seeing that.

but its nothing new. it has been around since forever and progamers never seemed 2 have a problem with it b4. its just recently all of a sudden things turned gay.

well yes they are strong and a common use may change the style to substitute E-bay for academy first (as Froz did on WCG 2002) that mixed with fast expansion is a Rape for any Dt-lover

I think that maybe it's a result that maybe progamers never expect DT b/c they don't think their opponent would use something that is so familiar and counterable. So it's like second-guessing themselves, they think that their opponent thinks that they know that their opponent knows that they can counter a DT....

for some reason i never expect dt b/c i expect the p to realize that a dt is pretty ez to counter so i think they dont do it.. but then they do it and kill me ~~~~! b/c ididnt expect it!!

in PvT DTs give a fantastic advantage of being able to expand quickly to a main and defend it quite easily. It forces terran to prepare for a longer time. It's like a disease on wgtour right now, but I fall for it quite often, so I guess it's good and it is the terrans that should adapt. On the other hand, if you don't scout the toss build, it is your guess that often decides whether you win or lose.
On a side note, I don't understand how going academy instead of Ebay makes a good counter for DT. Scan depletes quite quickly and often you need to SEE them fast enough sometimes in order to stop them before they do a lot of damage. Scans deplete, and sending dts in groups, dodging scans will soon catch terran off guard and if no turrets --> gg. Even with them, 4 dt drop is such a bitch when terran fast exps... maybe I'm just talking newbie-talk...

yhe onlyu build that excels v dt, is vulture rush. other builds can deal with dt, but it still slows u down, when u vulture rush u basically want them to dt

Boxer did a 2 fact mostly-vulture opening and was still hurt badly by a simple dt rush. I was just curious about your opinion of that game, and particularly what went wrong for boxer. Since you haven't seen the vod I won't bother you though.

As a protoss player that's been playing DT as a starter all his life vs T, I'll say this - DT's are a _VERY GOOD_ start against _MOST_ terran buildups, as they allow you to a) delay terran expansion for a while b) contain him in his main with just 2 DT's until he gets mobile detection c) expo to another main early. However, DT's are also very vulnerable to any kind of vulture drop / early vessel strat. Of course, almost no one exactly plays that kind of strategy because it's pretty much useless against a well played 3 gate goon / obs, however, if DT's become more popular, this build can become more popular as well... generally speaking, IMO DT's are a more effective but less safe starting for P than goon / obs.

i dont have to watch the rep, but if boxer didnt get speed that can hurt, but u still shouldnt die, im guessing he didnt realize dts were coming until they were probly at his ramp

I rarely use dt as I typically find it better to do goon/obs... but since gundam and fast expo is becoming more popular, I am starting to use dt tech a lot more often.

mines were in bad location dt could cross the base, and the mine would not hit him and he forgot to make a turret in his door

dt opening indeed gives toss a huge advantage of delaying terran's exp and expand themseleves, even if u vultures rush, dual fact,mine/speed research, dts still beat it with some goons holding the ramp. any decent toss would know if u see mass vultures coming, switch to some goons. imo, 2 tank 1 dropship openinig with e-bay really fast is the best tvp opening when u dont know what toss is doing, put up a turret on the door and 2 near ur minerals if u suspect dt dropping, 1 turrets is not gonna stop 4 dts.. if he goes dts he cant expand to his natural because he desnt have drop yet to stop the cliff.

wrong, 2 fact speed mine vults absoluetly rape dt, u can prevent them expoing ANYWHERE and u can break the ramp 99% of the time
