I meant those who only play SC for UMS. Those who are too lazy to get better in real SC.

Normandy SE2 - a true classic made by PanzerKavalier who back in the day was one of the best map makers because he is a bad ass
Zombie Hotel
Changeling ( my favorite version of the Thing maps)- This map is totally awesome with friends or pubbies especially when you secretly team up and agree to meet at a corner. Then you go on a hunting expedition and kill everyone you see both innocent and guilty. The reactions you get are always priceless.
Lame Defense is also cool because you have to exploit the absurb AI of Starcraft to win but also because you need lots of teamwork.
Random Defense Games ( the ones where u get random minerals or units per civ)
Marine Defense Perfection- Very easy for a defense game yet seemingly impossible to actually win due to stupidity which makes it even more addicting
Old School Bounds (Level Up Bound)
Some RPGs - some that have stood out to me are Delia's Corruption. RPG's are always funner with friends through Ventrilo or Skype rather than random strangers who methodically kill and are... boring
Nexus Destroyers, Random Unit Battle aren't bad though they get kind of old after a few games
Helm's Deep v. Haldir - not Version Annatar - the official crap version
Aeon of Strife isn't bad either until you figure out how to beat the system
Cat and Mouse also isn't bad if you are playing a fair version.
Some other silly UMS are:
Spin The Bottle ( better than u expect)
Haunted Maps
Firefighters
Kerrigan Has Sex With Duke
Spiderman Has Sex with Christina Aguilera
Pleasure Kerrigan - PIXEL SEX!! WOO
The Starcraft Experience
Sexy Pics Collection- this one instead of naked girlies has naked Arnold Schwarzenegger. Always good to pull off on little horney 12 year old kids and to laugh at their reaction.
Lastly there are some maps that are fun the first time you play them, check em out:
Tarpit Defense
Evolves
Tug of War

Lazy? Starcraft is a GAME. You play it for FUN. You make 'real' SC sound like it's a job ffs. UMS is just as real as melee, and it's more fun.
Best maps for me: Impossible Scenarios. I have over 150 different maps of imp scens.
SC Tournament: Like melee but macro and micro is separated. Also if the settings are on 5 mins, it can get very micro oriented and strategic.
Random Micro Arena: I love the tag trigger. Just tag the teammate who's units counter your opponents. RMA is as micro intence as Micro Tourney. Luck is a big factor inthis game however.
Micro Tournament: straight up micro. Best micro training map on Bnet along with RMA
1v1 micro maps: Like micro torn, but only with 2 ppl to see who is better.
Helms Deep Maps: heroes are less imba in the never versions
The Thing original ver: OMFG so fun to fuck with people's minds. Best psychological game on Bnet. I rarely lost as the thing beause i manipulated people to hurt each other or to stray away from the Group.

I like older UMS mostly.
King of Survival was very fun, a lot more fun than the newer styled Test of Survival... Choose Control - nobody plays it but it's pretty interesting. You (up to 4 players) choose different unit types to counter an AI army. It's a lot about teamwork, and it's nice that it adapts the difficulty to the number of players. Micro Tournament... Nice with an UMS where your melee skill level actually comes into play. A bit stupid with some micro situations but most of them pretty good and varied. Micro Challenge - not many people play those, not sure why, because most of them are pretty fun and well made. I have like a hundred of those maps. You are fighting in different micro situations against the AI, with some teamwork levels. The one who stays alive longest and doesn't lose his lives wins. A bit similiar to the newer Random Micro Challenge, but RMC has like no micro situations that are actually useful for real. Almost all of them are silly spellcaster ones or about bugging the AI. I hate most Micro Arenas as they are all so luck based, but the Platform and Desert ones can be pretty fun and interesting from time to time. Oh and whenever I see a mario party or other minigame-styled UMS I join as quick as I can
But yeah, I find most of the normal UMS:es boring, I'm only fond of the micro ones. Sometimes I play Marine or Sunken Defense when I'm really tired and bored.
I don't agree with UMS being more fun than melee though. Really... I don't. You can only spend so many hours on an UMS until it grows tedious. Melee you can play... forever and ever.

The learning curve can be rather odd, though, since beginners have no idea how to play and get owned, but as you get more skilled players, the map imbalances come through, and it becomes one-sided, too defensively oriented, and waiting for mistakes. At the mid-range level, they're still very entertaining. Ditto maps like Battle for Osgiliath and Minas Tirith
i love love love these style of maps. if i never got into these, my melee skills would be rather off the hook. maps like battle for osg tend to make for really long, epic, games if you get good players going. however i've noticed that the community that tends to play these maps a lot is really cliqueish and kinda annoying, at least on east.
edit: now that i think about it, there's only really a few individuals that i regularly play in those games that tend to bother me. i shouldn't generalise so much
