Savior is actually the only zerg user that made
me watch BW clips
he came up with awesome strats and micro that raped
other broods and he showed us that he overwhelmed "zerg"
he was EVIL character among the fans (was even called Matler)
(since he raped rA and other protoss)
but he is just adding loss to his record since last year,
and his arrogance and self-confidence is gone from his face
i loved his "evilboss"ness, however, he is not even
smiling in recent days
he is sinking for sure and there seems to be no hope for
him to get up
what caused his collapse?
everyone might say savior's fall started from vs. bisu
but i think it is actually from FBH
the biggest cause of his fall is vs. Terran,
and FBH was first terran who stopped savior going up to
semi-final.
Savior must start over with vs. Terran .

Fuck he was a monster.
I know we've talked about this before, but Savior was the first player that I would watch and go "he can't lose"... and he couldn't. Sure others had done it before, but he was the only Zerg I had ever seen like that.
He has left his mark on the game, but it's time to move on and focus on Jaedong's legacy...

I'm so fucking annoyed I missed the savior awesome era. I could handle missing Casy win an OSL and Midas/GF get really good, and oov/nada/ra continue on winning here and there, I'd either seen it before or it wasn't even that interesting. But the savior era seems intimidating, in a great way. damn.

Savior was truly UNBEATABLE.
Bisu basically found cracks in his armor and made him aware of his mortality and the end of Savior and that was the beginning of the end imo.
However I always disliked him, his boring face, no personality.

It wasn't the loss to Bisu that started the decline, it was the win from Nada in the OSL finals.

My theory is that since savior was the zerg to beat for so long that everyone knew his style of play and figured out ways of beating it. Savior hasnt chaged his play much and since then he has been gettin beat by other players counters to his style. Now it looks he has lost all confidence in himself and is destined to fail.

aww man I really miss the dominating savior. HIs era of dominance is what got me into the progaming scene because his Z-style was so awesome to watch. Nowadays I try to avoid all savior games because they are so damn painful to watch Hopefully the era of Jaedong is just as long and exciting.

nice pics, and sAviOr at his imbaness was great, i loved watching him on an entirely different level then any other gamer in the world. When he asserted his will to win it was unparralelled.

When I first started watching live Starcraft and started getting into progaming, it was in the middle of Savior's era and I just loved watching him dominate all the players and everything they threw at him. Good times!

I remember thinking in mid 2006 that it was interesting how after all those years of pro starcraft existing it finally turned out that the best race was Zerg.
Then Bisu came along and changed it all. I remember thinking 6 months ago 'lol I was wrong, I guess Protoss is the best', as Bisu/Stork were beating everyone.
Now it's Jaedong and his ridiculous win streak and one-sided games and I'm back to square one with 'turns out the best race is Zerg'.
Actually, it looks like were due for another Terran bonjwa. Flash, please be him.

when he never lost and was super dominant it was a pleasure to watch him. everything his opponent came up with, his answer was already waiting for it. there's been no other player like that. it's a shame his style changed and he fell from the throne, because he was like a player that if you wanted to beat him, you had to take him into late game and even then he was usually going to come up trumps. there were no easy wins against him and in fact his losses were always close, long ass games. now THAT'S an end-game boss for ya.

i remember the time when nada was on the comeback trail and it was always savior who ruined it for him (OSL and shinhan masters??) and it pissed me off so much hahaha...i can also recall a thread that showed a minimap pic (savior had like 70-80% of the map) and had the caption, "all of savior's games look like this..." or something like that and it was so fucking true...you gotta miss those days when you just knew he wouldn't lose...damn savior was a beast back in the day...

ironically enough its my belief that sAviOr ascended to his throne in a similar fashion by taking down Boxer 3-0  ... I hope sAviOr is just on a slump and look forward to him reclaiming his power

It's unlikely that he'll ever come back, considering the big amount of old star players who slowly vanish from the top scene.
He's also quite slow (APM) compared to Bisu or Jaedong.

He was called Matler simply for a pic of him doing what appeared to be a Nazi salute. It wasn't of course but still It had nothing to do with his game play.

I have always wondered why the Maestro would fail. I was watching his vods and HATED him for annihilating all my favorite old players, rA, reach, boxer, iloveoov, etc. But now, I feel bad for him. Savior was the necessary evil starcraft needed and I hope he can come back.
I long suspect that before Savior started playing, there was a spark that set him off. A desire to utterly destroy all other races. Now, we can all clearly see that he has lost that spark. I hope he finds that spark again so he can refill his shoes to become the necessary evil of starcraft.
