Thanks a lot for all the hard work making these subtitles! I was impressed by the level of strategic depth the Korean casters are willing to go to. All the commentaries/analyses done in English that I've seen were utterly disappointing because they are so strategically shallow. The Korean guys focus on very important aspects of the game like how the game play of both players is based around the zerg's gas count in the mid-game (explaining why iris was hellbent on killing the 6:00 natural) and subtle things like the mind games associated with jaedong not hiding his initial scouting overlord and letting iris know his position. Then they combine this with excitement/hype/shouting to give the game a really high entertainment value. Summing all this up with the fact that it was a really good game with two extraordinary players is pretty much everything you could ask for.

I thought the quality of strategic insight made by the commentators on a routine basis (there was no play-by-play for the most part, it was all *this person is doing this, because/for,* if you know what I'm getting at. Which is, in turn, an interesting revelation given the recent flame war about the English commentary.

they are facing a really broad audience, and even in doing that are giving deeper strategical insight than a commentary released on a decent level starcraft site

Sonuvbob my guess would be that the MBC commentators for PL are more experienced, have better game insight, and create more excitement than the OGN PL casters.

For the first subtitle, took me around 3-4 hours, mostly because of the damn program that wouldn't open up. It opens up occasionally, no clue why.

For the second subtitle, took me about a whole day. Probably close to 9 hours. I never in my life studied more than 4 hours. And also, I'm no computer wiz. If someone teaches me a better way/program, I probably could've done it faster.

As far as the cast goes, I have no preference. I like Lee Seung Won (Small guy on the right side with the glasses) from MBC cast. He has incredible insights and whenever he says something, it happens. The middle one just overreacts to anything and the other one has arrogant tone as if he knows everything (imo). I love when Lee Seung Won proves him wrong.

Although I think OGN has better chemistry together, other than TheMarine and Carrier Kim, they lack insight. TheMarine has very good insight, but he has squeaky voice I don't like. Carrier Kim I love. And he's the main reason I watch OGN. (Him and the Fat Dude)

Each cast has its own cons and pros and I wouldn't mind seeing one for the another.

I'm going to make a subtitle for one of next MSL Ro16. If you're interested, resist the temptation and wait for my subtitle >.< (Yes, I know it's hard) I'll probably have it by end of the week. Maybe Saturday night?
Edit: Just one game though, its way too tiring to do everything
