Why tank in siege mode kills lurk in 3 shots instead of 2?
Siege mode makes 70 damage and Lurk has 125 HP and explosive damage takes 100% agaisnt Large units like Lurk and I know that lurks have 1 armor by default but this mean 70-1=69 damage for tanks and 69*2>125 or I am not right?

I was pretty sure that i read it in blizzard page that lurks are large when the expansion set was realised,but maybe obviously I am wrong or they changed in some patch:-))

omg lurkers in just 2 shots... sweeeeeeeeeeeeet

(its veeeeeeeery extrange to see an armory upgrade of attack but try it... owning hydras with 1 shot and lurkers with 2 is sooo sweet

tanks never kill hydras in one shot. (like someone mentioned, because hydras are medium size and tanks deal explosive. )

long time ago i tryed tank 3 0 vs hydra 0 0, and didnt worked as drone correctly mention Tank does Explosive Damage and Hydra is medium unit.
Getting away with all messed up !

Speaking of which, am I the only one who thinks it's gay siege tanks don't even do the splash damage to borrowed units (as in, to fecking lurkers) under dark swarm?

I mean, considering I wont attack lurx with firebats, and the weird fact that SCV don't do any damage under dark swarm, I'm only left with magic, so basically, it's either irradiate or nuke if you want to kill units under dark swarm with T

simply math: defiler can consume, vessels' energy needs time to regenerate, Z wins :S

I didn't know this wasn't like obvious :/

85 damage tank (3 weapon upgrades) x 0,75 = 63,75 damage. So they NEVER kill a hydra in 1 shot.

Do the same math with lurker, and you can check it out yourself T T

I have a better question, why does the Lurker do full damage to mech units? Aren't they concussive damage?

Lurkers do normal damage, meaning full damage against any type of unit/building.
All you have to decide, is what to do with the time that is given to you

hrmm this is IMHO fine, sure lurkers with swarm own, but it takes them a while to burrow, just because they are all but immortal burrowed doesn't mean that they can't be killed. Plus if you have been keeping your vessels alive you should be fine.

Don't let the lurkers get into the swarm, move your rines in front of them. If they do manage to get through, retreat, and siege your tanks just outside of lurk range. If they unburrow, splash damage of tanks will fuck the lurks up. And if it's in the middle of the map, just take another route and kill their expands in a fast attack or something, just don't just stay there to wait till the swarm wears out.
All you have to decide, is what to do with the time that is given to you

sorry for the mistake about 1 shot vs hydras, it was jsut that i had 3-0 tanks in one game and it looked like there were dying with jsut one shot but guess i was wrong ^_^

i havent tried yet, but what about if i shoot one of my units over a lurker in dark swarm... will that kill the lurk? i havnet tried but IMO it will work

If the unit is slightly beyond the lurker, then yes, the blast will fall short of the unit and land on the lurker.

A 3-0 tank practically does kill a X-0 lurker in two shots. If it was full life it will survive with 1 HP so not even a 124 HP lurk would survive
Any Irrad splash damage or tank splash damage will be fatal when pair of tanks focus on the lurk.
The sky just is, and goes on and on; and we play all our BW games beneath it.
