This includes a big redesign, pre-match race selection drafts for 2v2, and a bunch of other features/changes. Check out our news post if you want more details: https://shieldbattery.net/static-news/19

Maybe wishful thinking at this point, but I would just love to play true old graphics in wide screen and bad colours to be eliminated from the game, or at least from the experience. I'm imagining 2v2 having set colours on certain tilesets and allowing the player choose just his/her own color in game at any moment in the game, and for 1v1 be able to manipulate both colours instead of just Teal vs Red, because fuck forcing magenta (or red) on your opponent. Shift+Tab should work with shades imho, instead of making all ally units the same colour. Neon colours and Remastered skins are just so fugly. I still miss 1.16.1 to this day and nilla colors to this day. Sigh, I really just hate Blizzard for ever launching Redumbed.

Team 1 is hot colors (red, orange, yellow, magenta), team 2 is cold colors (blue, light blue, green, and gray). Something like Red Yellow vs. Green Blue seems like it should be pretty good on most maps I'm aware of. Having team-based color switch (Shift + Tab) but differentiating between the two enemies would be great, because the current system turns all enemies into just one color which makes the minimap more difficult to understand at a glance sometimes (unclear which enemy is approaching your main for example). As for the new colors, I actually like a lot of them, but the shitty colors which are impossible to see on the minimap should probably go. I do appreciate how they don't allow two people to have two nearly identical colors, though I could see how those can be a use case for the above shift+tab mode for 2v2.

These are all things that are on my todo list As far as colors go, I'd really like people to be able to choose from different color palettes for things like shift+tab (and for us to save shift+tab across game launches so people don't have to keep doing it every game). And also having another color mode that sets the 8 players to preset colors locally (but doesn't do it by team, etc.). I don't plan to have things like players picking their own colors that everyone else has to deal with as it does lead to abuse of the hardest-to-see colors (and probably we would just remove/adjust those colors to begin with).

I honestly feel that if more people focused on simply something for the love of it, that does no harm, that brings non-grandiose, unprofitable good to the world, we'd all be better off. Big up the SB crew. Whaddup Elegant! Long time no see ![]() You'll be pleased to know that in this new update we have finally started using some of the sound effects you produced for us over 10 years ago!
